Features to know about

Weather the Storms with Confidence: Durable Molded Rubber Construction

When you're out on the open road, changing weather conditions can be a challenge. The Mighty Cord 7-Way RV-Style Trailer Connector, made with durable molded rubber construction, stands up to the elements. Its corrosion-resistant terminals ensure a long-lasting connection between your trailer and vehicle, so you can travel with peace of mind regardless of rain, snow, or shine.

Perfect Fit for Long Hauls: 10 Feet Long Custom Fit Design

Say goodbye to frustration with short cords that don't quite reach. This 10-foot long trailer connector offers a custom-fit design, providing the perfect length for any setup. No matter your trailer type, this extended reach ensures you have room to maneuver and connect without a hitch, literally! It's especially useful for those larger setups like fifth-wheel trailers and camper vans.

Know Your Colors: RV Standard Wiring Colors

You want power, lights, and brakes wired correctly, especially before setting out. The Mighty Cord #A10-7W10 has you covered with RV standard wiring colors: yellow for auxiliary/reverse lights, green for tail lights, brown for right turn/brake lights, blue for electric brakes, black for 12V battery charge, red for left turn/brake lights, and white for ground. These standardized wire colors help ensure that your connections are safe and accurate without the guesswork.

Tough as Nails: Heavy-Duty Wire Gauges

Handling significant electrical loads requires robust wires, and this connector exceeds expectations. The blue wire for electric brakes is thoughtfully designed with a 12-gauge thickness, while the critical 12V power and ground wires (black and white) are a hefty 10-gauge. Lighter gauge wires handle the rest flawlessly. This setup ensures parts like your brakes and power sources get the stable current flow they need, for a smooth and secure towing experience.

Everything seems to be good quality. I thought the shipping was a little slow could have gotten here a little sooner.

by:

Works for what we needed.. use it all the time the camper is on the truck.

The quality and the design of the cable is excellent - the only problem I encountered with it was the color coding of the wires. First, I ordered the RV version which means that the wires are supposed to be located at specific points in the plug and I found that they were not in agreement with what etrailer's connection scheme said that they would be.
Whatever was the case, I am working on a utility trailer and my vehicle is wired as a utility trailer would be because that is what I use it for. It mystifies me that there is a difference between RV and utility trailers because anyone who uses a trailer does not want to have multiple hookups when it is totally unnecessary.
Be that as it may, I found that to use the RV connector cable, I had to exchange the white and the blue wires, the red and the yellow wires, and the brown and the green wires in the box relative to the trailer wiring. This means that the yellow wire of the cable is connected to the center pin of the connector for auxiliary power (in my case). The red wire is the left side signal and brake light (trailer yellow). The blue wire is connected to the ground wire on the vehicle (trailer white). The white wire is connected to the brake controller (trailer blue). The brown wire is the right side signal and brake light (trailer green). The green wire is the tail lights (trailer brown). When I did this swap, all of the items matched the connector on my vehicle and everything works. I have not actually tested the brakes yet, but that is coming.

by:

The cord is of good quality and is working well. The reason for 3 stars is that the wire color to Pin location don't match the standards I have printed even ones I got with the car connector from etrailer. I just used an ohm meter to confirm which color wire connected to each pin before connecting to the trailer.

by:

Ordering and shipping on time was great. easy installment. Only draw back is the longer I pull my trailer the more the brakes apply pressure and I have to make adjustments to keep brakes from locking up. But I would and suggest buying to a friend.

by:

This cord was a good length to replace the damaged cord on our travel trailer. It has a sealed plug connection thus eliminating the need to attach and maintain the RV-style plug on the end of the cable. This was an easy replacement.

by:

Purchased this to upgrade the connection between my trailer and my truck. This cable has remained flexible and provided the length I wanted to be able to connect without hitching.

by:

I bought this to replace the worn out connector on my RV. I was happy to see that the white, black and blue wires were of a heavier gage than the other four wires since that is how the original cable on my RV is. The package arrived sooner than I expected. This will be much better than if I had just replaced the connector. No more worries if my trailer turn signals are working!

by:

My old cord had 16 gauge wire for the brakes , This took care of my week trailer brakes.

by:

This was an exact match to the wiring of my 2009 forest river 27' salem toy hauler. I purchased the 10' cable which is 2' longer than the stock cable. I did that so I would have extra cable to add a new end to if I have troubles later on. The Product works perfectly after installation . My reason for the replacement was a failure of the stock plug end. No complaints about the stock one. It lasted 10 years which I believe is a good life span for any plug. This plug seems like with proper care and corrosion protection it should have a long life as well.

by:

Replaced old cord with new one. Exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price. That is why I always check etrailer for parts I need on my RVs. the cord is durable and is exactly how it was explained in its description.

by:

Direct replacement for my trailer cord. Like that it is sealed to keep the weather out.

by:

Works great for a conversion lance camper plug rubber coated plug good quality product

  • Why Do Some 7-way Plugs Use Dual Contact Surfaces
A 7-way (female) vehicle socket like # PK12-707E has a single blade contact; these fit in between the dual contact surfaces in a (male) trailer plug like # 54006-059, # 277-000143 or # A10-7W10 and the connector (type BB) shown in your photo.
