This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. A plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets ties you down to just 1 vehicle. But this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.
To install the snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver (sold separately). Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.
The snowplow comes with flip-down caster wheels that make the installation process even easier on you. Simply flip the wheels into position and you will be able to roll the plow into position for mounting or storage. The height of the wheels can also be adjusted to match the height of your vehicle.
Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or a private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.
The plow comes with a wireless remote that allows you to stay warm and out of the elements while still effectively controlling the plow. The remote operates on a 2.4 GHz frequency, allowing it to quickly send signals to the winch without experiencing delays. And because it's wireless, you won't have to run wires through your dash. Nor will you have to leave your window cracked open in the middle of a snow storm just so that you can run a wired remote into your cab. You will be glad to have it on those cold winter days.
To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the snowplow.
When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.
The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using the wireless remote control. If you prefer, you can also install the included in-cab toggle switch to control the plow. The winch uses a durable strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.
The snowplow features skid shoes that allow you to adjust the height of your plow. This allows you to efficiently plow over surfaces that are uneven, such as gravel roads.
Blade stiffeners, or blade support brackets, reinforce the connection between the plow and your vehicle. They add 2 additional points of contact with your hitch on either side of the plow's T-frame. This prevents stress on the frame and on your vehicle, while also strengthening the performance of the plow.
Shock-absorbing springs allow the plow to dip forward in the event that you hit an obstruction. This flexibility protects you and your vehicle from impacts.

I installed this DK2 Avalanche on a 2003 GMC Yukon 1500 with a Curt front receiver hitch 31302. If you have a side mount battery, you may need battery bolt extenders (Battery Doctor #30400) to make life easier. That said, the ring terminal connectors on the winch control box will be too small. Get ones that will fit the 3/8 inch stud and 12-10 AWG wire to replace the stock ones.
Manufacturer instructions are not very helpful, but Graz's Garage has a great install video on YouTube. He installed his on a 2020 Chevy Colorado Z71. You can always count on a gearhead from Detroit. eTrailer is awesome at responding to concerns, too, and I'm glad I bought this product from them.
My plow was delivered quickly. It took a bit longer to assemble than I thought it would, but it seems pretty heavy duty and looks and works great for my 600' long driveway. It's much better and quicker than plowing with my 4 wheeler and warmer too.
It's a great plow.works good the winch is a little slow and the remote is slow to respond but all in all it does what I need it to do.

I just had a chance to finally get it mounted to my truck. The fit is perfect. I have never had any issues with anything that I’ve ever gotten from etrailer.
Plow seems to be of good quality, wont know till I actually use it, how good it is. Seems sturdy enough to do the job, assembly was very straight forward.
My only complaint is etrailer left me dangling for a month with no updates on my order status, even after chatting with one of their customer service people.
I ended up contacting DK2 to get a ship date.
This is the second front hitch I have purchased from etrailer. As with the first, this was a well built, solid product. It fit my older 2009 Ford Super Duty perfectly. The only thing that was incorrect was in the instructions it called out the tools needed. But the actual sockets needed were larger than called for. Not a big deal, but something to correct moving forward. I mounted the hitch myself in about 45 minutes. Most of that time was getting set up and going looking for the larger sockets. I used a roll around jack, as I did with the first hitch, to lift it into place and be able to move it around. Works well. Everything was A+. Sorry I have no pictures. But it looks great.
Solid build, perfect fit, nice function ality.
Bolted right on our F450SD with out having to remove anything.

This is the second "Curt" front hitch that I have purchased. I have not had the opportunity to mount it yet, but the instructions appear to be complete and easy to follow. It arrived UPS ground in about 5 days.

Installation was easy, even for 70yr old bod! Works great, bought it to mount a winch, have also used it to move trailers around the yard.
This is the 3rd hitch I have ordered from etrailer.com. First one was for my second daughter's new 2022 Honda, 2nd one was for my 2018 Subaru Forester and this one is for for my 3rd daughter's Ford F-350 Super Duty. etrailer.com has what I need, fast and easy to order, delivered to my front door and it fits every time. -Wally-
Heavy Duty and well made. Fairly difficult install because of such tight clearances on the trucks frame members, but I installed it myself in about an hour.

The Curt receiver hitch is good quality but if your doing the install yourself from the driveway or garage floor, two floor jacks would be very helpful as the receiver hitch needs to be "snaked" in around the truck structure. The front receiver hitch will give us options for carrying various types of hitch attachments. Thanks e-trailer.
Haven't had to use it yet but arrived when expected and easy to assemble and looks very easy to use. Would definitely recommend buying from etrailer.com
Ended up using this front receiver way more than I initially expected. Now it’s possible to one person back up my boat into garage...safely. Very easy to install and seems to be high quality. No complaints.

Still working great. Not sure if it is in the description, but this hitch fits chassis cabs trucks, e.g. my truck is a F450 Chassis Cab.
Fit just right, it would be nice if there was a wider version that allowed me to keep my front axle protectors on. Doesn't stick out ridiculously far, leaving just enough room in front of the air damper for the pin hole.
On my F-250 4x4 the installation went smoother than expected, working on my back with the truck sitting on the floor. The front end of the frame rails is up inside the bumper assembly, so it's rather tight space to work in, but the entire job took only about an hour. I did NOT have to trim the air dam.
The carrier slid right into place using a floor jack, and it was easy to align the front bolts. Once they were in place the floor jack could be removed. Fishing the rear bolts is a little tricky, but it went surprisingly well once I straightened-out the coiled fish-wire (leaving the bend about 2" from the end, which pops through the hole once it reaches it). To prevent losing the bolts inside the frame I pulled just a portion of the bolt-coils off the bolts' threads and got the nuts started before pulling-off the rest. This results in stretching-out and ruining the bolt-coils on the fish-wires. Curt anticipated this, however, and provided one for each side. That kind of thoughtfulness (and the slight extra cost of providing the second fish-wire) is what distinguishes excellence from merely good-enough.
the Curt front receiver for the 2010 F-250 is an exact fit- and it arrived in good time. I got the Curt rear receiver from etrailer a couple of years ago and it has worked well.
Now I can carry on both front and back. The video provided was a great help.
Perfect fit on our 2008 f350. Installation took less than an hour with two people. As usual good shopping experience with etrailer.

After a year the hitch has been very useful in unanticipated ways. Attaching a cargo rack nc we have a kayak rack attached to rear hitch. Hitch still looks new and no rust after first winter. Recommend product and etrailer.com.
Good hitch for the price, I use it for a front cargo carrier for surf fishing, but I'm confident I could pull stuff with it. This fits my 2008 F350. Install wasn't too bad but this thing is heavy, easier with two people.

If you install a load basket in the receiver, be sure to attach something that helps you remember its there so you dont bump the car in front of you. I used a fiberglass rod I could see from the cab
I was very impressed about the quality and fitment of this product. The price was excellent, the shipping time was excellent, and the condition of the product received was also excellent. Of course it said it would take 20 minutes to install, but the reality was more like an hour taking my time and not wanting to damage anything. But still, under an hour was good. Everything went as planned out in the instructions. Overall, I am very please with the product and how it looks on my truck. Keep up the great products you sell!

Installing this is a two person job, a little difficult by yourself. Other then that it is made of good quality and heavy duty.

Works great. Used many times with moving trailers and a stump grinder. Much easier to line up when pushing the item in front. Also mounted carrier to mount garden sprayer and drove the fence line inside my AC truck instead of on an ATV or lawn tractor.
