17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
After assembling I tried to install the carrier on my Malibu. DID NOT FIT !!! I had to order an extension to be able to make it work. Another $30. I thought that after inputting type of car that items ordered from you we're matched to fit my car. You should make it clear. Now I'll try to get my $20 rebate. Wish me luck !!
I've been using this Cargo Carrier on my 4 Runner Venture for about a year now. I Purchased this item to haul extra gear to Nags Head from Northwestern Virginia. Installation was a breeze and it's very, very sturdy. I had two Yeti coolers packed with ice and drinks and there was no wobbling at all. I'm a 197 pounds and I was standing on it after I installed it just to check for durability and this thing is a beast. I also used this as a rod holder while on the beach and I caught a 6 foot black tip shark. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item and I would recommend to a friend.

19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs
Perfect. Took some finessing to tighten down the bolts but I did it on my own. I used it to move about 250lbs worth of belongings in containers from NY to FL (Little over 1,300 Miles).

20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs
This is great cargo basket: solid and secure, easy assembly, well designed. The angled neck keeps the basket well away from the ground; I haven’t had any problems with it bottoming out. My first use was actually on a trip back from Florida following Powered Paragliding training. I was intending to bring back just a Paramotor (which would have stood vertically inside the basket), but ended up bringing back a whole Trike assembly! Mounted it on the basket as shown, and it rode just fine back through four states. Got a lot of looks on the way home! I concur with an earlier reviewer that a neat trick is to use a stabilizer strap from the hitch to the corner of the basket. There is plenty of slop in the receiver when the neck is inserted, and a short ratcheting tie down cancels the rattle effectively. I’m very pleased with this purchase; and while I don’t plan to haul around anything as big as that trike, I look forward to many more years of use from it!
First look - not yet loaded up. Ordered this because the less expensive Curt (C18110) was out of stock. It seems like a worthwhile upgrade anyway, with rounded corners and better tie-down options. Finish seems high quality. Significant play exists in the hitch receiver (Curt C11276 - gap visible in photo) to the point that I ordered a hitch immobilizer and don't plan to test the carrier with a full load until that's installed.

Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs
I can't say I'm entirely happy with my purchase. The instructions were more confusing than helpful. Note in "instruction.jpg" photo of STEP 1 that the text says to put the 8 small bolts in from the inside first, but the drawing clearly shows them as going in from the outside. The last step says to place the ramp onto the receiver as shown.... glad I didn't throw away the box because there is no drawing that shows ramp installation. Actually, the photo on the box was more helpful than any of the instructions. Also, I need to make a trip to the hardware store to buy longer medium bolts because the ones that came with the carrier were not long enough to fully engage the self locking feature of the nylon lock nuts. At a minimum a couple of threads should protrude beyond the nylon. See photo "nut.jpg". The bolt threads don't reach the end of the nylon, so the self locking feature is not fully engaged. I did tighten the nut, but that was as far as it would go. I think once I get back from the hardware store with the new medium bolts and after I reverse the 8 small bolts (I followed the drawing and not the text of the instructions), I'll be OK with the carrier.
"Instantly Get Rid of Wobble and Upgrade With Lights" This is not a 5 because ramp should be longer & there should be some type stabilizer to temporary hold bike while strapping down, I'd pay more for those upgrades. The wobble can instantly be solved by hooking Tie-Straps closest to vehicle directly to the receiver where you hook your chains, rather than hooking them to the provided holes on carrier itself. You of course use the provided strap holes ones on the opposite side. When strapped down as stated, the carrier now becomes one with the vehicle & @ 80mph there is no wobble. (*TIP: Put ramp back in its place before strapping down or else it won't fit with the strap hooks in the way.) I upgraded mine with lights for both safety reasons & not needing the Police any reason to pull me over. It was very simple and cost me nothing but time & maybe $50. I recommend this product whole heartedly.

23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Carrier and box will be moved to hitch on 209 Solitude Rv to provide extra cargo carrying ability
A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.

24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
The rack is much bigger than my previous one. I was disappointed that it was made in China instead of the USA. It assembled very easily and the light kit works very well. The only draw back is I can no longer open my tailgate with the rack installed due to the spare tire hitting the raised rack.
Purchased in March 2023. I really like the size, it holds a lot. The carrier is very sturdy, well made and assembled very easily. I purchased the light kit but found wiring could have been a little longer to dress the cables neatly down toward the hitch.

32x48 Reese Solo Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 400 lbs
I received the package in a pretty rough exterior condition but everything was fine inside. The previous comments about having to cut away the expanded metal flooring in order to install the carriage bolts wasn't true in my case. Apparently, this quality control issue has been addressed by the manufacturer. Assembly went well and wasn't complicated. A different carriage bolt with a longer square shoulder should be used. The shoulder doesn't grip too well to the square cutout in the frame and even while pressing firmly on the head of the bolt, it wanted to turn as I was tightening the nut. All in all, it seems to be a solid product and I look forward to using it.
I wish the load capacity was a bit higher, but overall I am satisfied with the cargo carrier. It is perfect for lugging my two dog crates behind my vehicle instead of inside the vehicle. Thank you for offering a dimensionally larger cargo carrier than most retailers.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged, and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
This carrier worked out great. The tilt down feature is helpful to have but I didn't really need it. However, the fold up feature was helpful when driving around, so I recommend that as a convenience. The only thing I had trouble with was the hitch bolt. I have a Thule bike rack that I've used with my truck hitch receiver and never had a problem, but this rack's hitch bolt was a real pain to get in at first. Don't be dismayed. With the rack off of the vehicle, I used some WD-40 and some lithium grease on the bolt and then used an adjustable wrench to screw it in and out a number of times. I noticed a bunch of either paint or metal shards gumming up the threads on the bolt each time I removed it. After about 5 times of screwing it in and out, wiping off the bolt with a towel, adding some more grease once in a while, it got to the point that I could screw it in and out by hand pretty easily. Problem solved. I'm really happy with this rack. It fit two big coolers of food and beer plus beach umbrellas and other stuff. It's really strong and sturdy. The biggest issue was not the weight on the rack, but whether the rear suspension on the Highlander could hold it with our other junk in the back plus passengers. :-)

Yakima EXO Swing Away Ski and Snowboard Carrier w/ Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches
Major flaw in the design. When using the box mounted on the bottom rack, You have to rotate the upper board/box rack 180° entirely in order to open the box… this isn’t super difficult but you actually have to swing the entire rack (upper & lower) out to the side to rotate the upper rack. This is extremely annoying if you just need to get something out of the box in a hurry. Additionally the turn knob/handle where you release the rack to swing out to the side, is right where your wheels throw all the mud, snow, dirt etc. so this makes for a messy event if you just simply want to get into box as stated earlier or in the back of an SUV after driving through any type of in-climate conditions. Another flaw was the clip rings should have been made with lanyard as we lost ours day one. Do your self a favor and by extra clips from the hardware store and keep in the box. Aside from the flaws, the structural integrity is excellent, the mounting pin through the hitch is more than safe and secure, again a bit annoying if you want you remove the entire rack system quickly or even just after a trip. We ended up just leaving ours attached all winter due to the inconvenience. The box is made well, the rack holder’s are also made well. Quality of the product is high, just wish Yakima would have put a little more thought into the ease and accessibility of the rack in the way that THULE typically does. A simple 30° tilt up feature on the upper rack would have been perfect, additionally a 30° tilt down on the hitch mounting point for the entire rack to tilt would have given so much more ease to accessing the back of the vehicle. We like the overall product and after spending so much money on it we have no choice but to keep it for years to come. Just might have to weld my own tilting brackets to ease the painful transitions.
Great product, box is a little annoying since you always need the key to open it, however, overall the whole system is great.

20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
Installation: Easy Assembly: Easy Attached to: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # C13163 Use: Camping equipment. Cooler, Chairs, Sleeping bags, firewood, etc. Like: The fact that it folds is a huge positive. What I would change: perhaps adding a ring or two on the sides to allow for bungee cords or rope. Because the hitch is already a bit low on the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander (stock wheels, tires, suspension) the back part of the basket can bottom out rather easily. It has nothing to do with the carrier itself though. I would definitely recommend this product! I'm going to use it again in a month for our next camping trip.
It was very hard to figure out what kind of cargo carrier would be the best for my needs, until I got on your website. Your videos are very informative to help with making the decision of which cargo carrier was best. It was very easy to put together, and very strong (I put my husband in it)this is perfect for our vacation transportation.

Yakima EXO Swing Away Storage System w/ Enclosed Cargo Carrier and Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches
This is the perfect setup for family road trips when you need a little extra dry storage. I mounted this on my Rivian R1S and saw no change in range, as opposed to a roof mount system. I only wish Yakima would incorporate a full-size spare mount for the EXO. Also had a favorable experience with etrailer customer service, as one of the locking pins arrived damaged. They were quick to get a replacement part to me at no cost. I couldn't be happier with the EXO or etrailer. I know that sounds corny, but it's true.
Holy Crap. This this thing is absolutely amazing. 1 year in, i have beat it to death, and overloaded both areas. I LOVE almost everything about it. The attachement of the upper rack is durable, and because of that is a pain sometimes to install/ twist. but for the utter brutality of the build, and the abuse it takes, and all the clever features, i get it, and it is worth it. A ton of money, but if you need a rig of this nature, this is THE ONE to last you. seriously.
What our customers are saying:
"Thank you so much for the prompt shipment of our cargo carrier. It is exactly as advertised and fits our Class II receiver great. It will make our trip to the beach with two dogs, fishing gear, etc. in our new, smaller SUV less crowded!"
