The only step covers we currently offer are from Prest-O-Fit and would only wrap around just the step portion. These covers wrap around the step and tighten in place with springs for a custom fit for a variety of step depths and will allow the steps to extend or retract without any interference. The turf material is designed to take a lot of abuse and can be hosed off when dirty. While you can install a Safety Step Sand Away Dirt Trapping Step Cover # SASSA11-00 on each step, you can only leave it on the bottom step when the steps are closed. The middle step covers would need to be removed for the steps to retract.

I went out to our warehouse to see how the lens cover is attached on the Replacement Light Kit for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - Amber - 2-13/16" Diameter # LC379414. Although it looks like it could be threaded, that is just a lip to keep it attached. Prying it off is the correct way to remove the lens cover.
