While the K-Source Snap & Zap Custom Towing Mirrors # KS69NQ for your 2021 Ford F-150 have a secure fit and would likely be ok going through a car wash with the mirrors folded in, we recommend that you remove the mirrors. We do not recommend going through a car wash with anything that is not permanently attached left on. The Snap & Zap mirrors do have a quick tool free installation and removal so you would be able to remove the mirrors and have them back on in seconds. view full answer...
Amy, absolutely, this detailing kit # PT39NJ has the right tool. But you can skip the drill bristle brushes on painted panels as that could scratch it. For bug splatter, the microfiber wash mitt is your best bet, since it’s gentle but effective.
The microfiber towels are also good for handle drying and final wipe-down without scratching. Then, use the foam pads with a wax like Griot’s Liquid Gloss Poly Wax # 34911013 to make future cleanups easier bugs won’t stick as much to a freshly... view full answer...
The Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier - Fork Mount # RBC035 is not recommended to go through a touch car wash. I recommend removing the bike rack prior to the wash which will only take a minute or two. It probably would not need to be removed on a touchless car wash but your warranty would not cover car wash damage. view full answer...
Hello Tim. The Extang Trifecta Signature 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover # EX94706 can withstand quite a bit of punishment, and it can handle a car wash easily BUT I do have to recommend that you avoid car washes that use brushes. A single wash or tow may not cause noticeable damage to the cover, but over times the brushes can scratch the cover which we do not want. Also some of the chemicals or wax used in car washes is not great for the cover. A couple of washes are probably not going to hurt... view full answer...
With the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Hitch Mount # TH92BJ or any other accessory, it is recommended to remove the carrier prior to going through a car wash. The manufacturer's warranty will not cover any damages incurred if you have the bike carrier installed while using an automated car wash. If it's a touchless car wash the risk is lower, but if it's a car wash with brushes then the risk is very high something would happen. view full answer...
If the car wash is a touchless car wash you'd probably be fine to leave on a roof bike rack like the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles # RKY1201 but if it's a car wash with brushes I would not recommend leaving it on. view full answer...
All of our cargo boxes, including the SportRack Vista XL # SR7018 that you referenced, state in the instructions that the box must be removed before entering an automatic car wash.
The cargo boxes do help protect your cargo against the elements but will probably allow some water in at an automatic car wash plus they are not meant to take a beating like what would happen with the machines inside the car wash. view full answer...
The Bestop EZ Fold Folding Tonneau Cover # B1621601 will have no problem going through a touchless car wash according to my contact at Bestop. The cover and frame are designed to be durable in all kinds of weather conditions and will absolutely be fine in a touchless car wash. The manufacturer does not require you to remove your tonneau cover each time you wash your vehicle but they do outline how to wash your cover with a soft bristle brush. I've attached that portion of the instructions... view full answer...
The Malone SteelTop Roof Rack part # MPG201 will not need to be removed if using an automated touch-less car wash. However, if you are using an automated non touch-less car wash then it would be wise to remove the system which is simple to do as there are only two bolts per side. Please note, removing the roof rack before entering an automated non touch-less car wash is a rule for all roof rack manufacturers not just the above. I will say I have not personally heard of any issues with a... view full answer...
I confirmed with Acess that the Access Original Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # A26FR can indeed go through a car wash. I verified that it can go through both touchless and brush-style car washes without an issue, although you will want to make sure the cover is rolled out all the way and secured properly before washing. view full answer...
Landing pad covers # Y8890029 are really the only option. You could always uninstall before the wash and reinstall the crossbars after if you don't like the way it looks. You could also stick to brushless car washes where nothing could get caught in the rack. I can't really advise you to go through the car wash with the crossbars on but I can tell you I managed a store with a car wash with brushes for years and this was never an issue. view full answer...
Yes, you can take your BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover - Roll Up - Aluminum and Vinyl - Matte Black, part # BAK25VR, through the car wash, provided you follow these tips.
Avoid car washes that use brushes. Brushes can scratch your tonneau cover, which you do not want. Only get your car washed where they offer a brushless option. Outside of washing your truck yourself, this is the easiest way to make sure your truck and your tonneau cover do not get damaged at the car wash. Do not... view full answer...
It's generally recommended that you remove any aftermarket roof rack like the # RRRVP05 when taking it through an automatic car wash, but it's not the soap or chemicals that you're worried about causing damage. Removing the rack is done to prevent any of the car wash brushes from snagging on the rack and damaging the roof rack or the vehicle's roof itself. view full answer...
Thank you so much for your purchase with us!
Generally, we recommend removing any roof rack from the vehicle when entering an automatic car wash. This is because any damage that results is not typically covered by the roof rack manufacturer, your vehicle's manufacturer, or the operator of the car wash. This is our recommendation for roof rack systems that involve door jamb clips.
However, since you you are using your fixed mounting points, you should be all right if you are using a touch-free... view full answer...
Hi Gerald,
It cannot; I checked with WeatherTech for you and the WeatherTech Custom Fit Hood Protector # WT28BQ that fits your 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 should not be taken through that type of car wash. Per the instructions, it says, "Do not use automatic “brush-style” car washes."
So that's something you'll want to avoid when using the # WT28BQ and just take your truck to one of the self-car washes or maybe at your home if you're able. view full answer...
While BAK says it is possible to take their covers through a car wash as long as the cover is closed and secure, there are some important things to keep in mind that might help you to protect your investment while simultaneously enjoying the convenience of an automatic wash for your truck.
Car washes with spinning brushes should be avoided while the Tonneau cover is on. You don't want it to be damaged by the abrasions that might occur from a rolling brush that's simply too abrasive for... view full answer...
I called my contact at Weathertech and they told me the WeatherTech Mud Flaps, part # WT110002-120002 will be no problem for you.
They told me they have had zero complaints about the mud flaps holding up when going through a car wash as you described. view full answer...
My contact at WeatherTech advised that in general it is best to avoid the fully automatic brush-type car washes that make contact with their bug deflectors. The nature of automated car wash facilities varies quite a bit (there are no-touch types, large rotary brush types and also the hanging-strip type) and so it is tough to make a blanket statement.
Their Bug Shield # WT50152 that fits your 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe can be installed in two ways, with either 3M automotive tape or under-the-hood... view full answer...
I will answer the car wash question first. Rack manufacturers will say do not go through a car wash with a roof rack on your vehicle. Have I taken my vehicle with a roof rack through a car wash before, yes. It was brushless and my rack was fine afterwards. Do keep in mind that many car washes will not let you go through if you have a roof rack on your vehicle. This also comes from experience, I was removed from a car wash line before because I have a rack on my vehicle.
