The difference between the Curt # 13390 and # C13206 hitches is that the 13206 sits up closer to the bumper by about 1/4" and the receiver sits out further to the back of the vehicle by about 1/8" - aside from that the dimensions are the same.
Curt made this redesign and just started listing the 13206 for the Subaru Outback Wagons starting with the 2014-2015 model year. Since Curt recommends the 13206 for your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon that's what I recommend going with as well.

There are differences. The differences lie in the fitment and capacities of each hitch. The Curt 13494 which we sell as part # C67JR fits the 2020-2022 Subaru Outback and 2020-2021 Subaru Legacy models of the same model years. The hitch has a 3500 lb towing/350 lb tongue weight rating.
The Curt 13437 which we offered as # CU89FR has recently been discontinued and is therefore no longer available. It fit the same vehicles as the # C67JR, but was also a fit for the 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness.... view full answer...

The difference between the Blue Ox Patriot 3 Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System BRK2019 and the Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR is that the Blue Ox Patriot 3 RBRK2019 is older, no longer available, and has subsequently been replaced by # BLU37TR.

We offer two primary types of hitch for your 2020 Subaru Ascent. One installs so that the receiver tube sits up against the underside of he back bumper fascia with most of the hitch being visible from the rear of the vehicle. The other type would utilize the removable knockout in the bumper fascia and would be much more concealed. The knockout panel can be reinstalled when the hitch isn't in use.

Both the AutowBrake part # 3430001 and the Prodigy RF part # TK94FR are excellent options for trailer mounted brake controllers. The Autowbrake is designed for more of a permanent install as it hardwires directly to the trailer's wiring and is a bit smaller. It uses what looks like a key fob too for a remote. The RF connects by plugging the trailer's 7-way into it and then it's 7-way into the vehicle's 7-way socket. It's a little easier but maybe not quite as permanent. The hidden design of the Curt hitch # C12184 is very appealing and since Draw-Tite actually doesn't have a hidden crosstube design for your 2020 Subaru Crosstrek I definitely recommend going with it over the Draw-Tite # 36644. Either the Curt Hitch # 13147 or the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75650 would work very well for you. The main difference between the two is the tube design like you noticed. There is not an advantage to having a round tube over a square tube hitch or vice versa. Some people just prefer the look of one over the other. There is very little difference in bumper clearances between the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410 that fit your 2015 Subaru Outback. You aren't going to hit a knee on either, as the face of the hitch on both is about equal to the bumper.
