Hi, again. Steven with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Blue Ox Track Pro Weight Distribution with Built-In Sway Control 11 Hole Shank. Now if you're not familiar with what a weight distribution is or does, it basically distributes your weight of the trailer over the axles of the tow vehicle in the trailer. It's gonna help give you a level and stable ride when towing and you're gonna maintain better control of your vehicle, thus avoiding trailer sag and also excessive wear and tear on your tires. Now this particular system does have a built-in sway control system, which is really nice.
The positive castor angle on your head unit here, that's gonna help keep your trailer centered and it helps prevent the sway before it begins. And the steel-on-steel friction is gonna help create sway caused by like, winds or sudden maneuvers. The head unit is already angled from the manufacturer, it's built into the design whenever they made the steel and put it in place and everything. A lot of systems out there, maybe you have to add some washers down in here to get this tilted back or went out to the correct angle. You don't have to worry about that with Blue Ox, they've already had it set up for you from the factory.
It's a real easy, simple design to use. It is made for a two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. You wanna make sure that your trailer hitch receiver on the vehicle you're towing with is made for the right weight, and is rated for use with weight distribution systems. It's made of hardened steel. The spring bars are made of spring steel. A couple things to point out. There's a grease Zerk down in here on the bar that's gonna help you, you know, keep this pivoting and everything smoothly, so you don't have to worry about it getting worn up on your thing. It comes with spring latch pins.
Does come with your hitch pin up here as well. Now as far as rise and drop from level, you can do a three inch drop, or you can flip the shank over and then you can mount the head back on it and then you could do a 17 inch rise. Now as far as installing this on your camper trailer, whatnot, from the center of your ball, you wanna measure out on the frame on both ways. And in this particular system, you can go back between 20 and 25 inches. So that's your sweet spot. Don't ever try to make it fit less than that. This system is designed with the weight of these spring bars to be set at that exact measurement. So stay safe, please, keep it what they recommend. And as far as mounted this to your trailer frame, I'm gonna pull one of these brackets off here. So this L bracket and retaining pin here, and then this other bracket, your trailer frame will be in here. This sandwiches your trailer frame. You can fit this up to six inch tall frames. So if you hit like, a two by three inch frame or whatnot, you could fit this up to a six inch tall trailer frame. It does come with a spring bar tool, so when you're installing your spring bars, remember the trailer tongue's gonna already be on here and you're basically gonna be putting the weight of those spring bars up in place on the L brackets. So as you can see, it's got a nice hook here. That's basically gonna go underneath your bar. Obviously it's not on the trailer, but this hook here would go over your trailer frame and you would pivot it up using this tool, and slide it onto the L bracket and then put in your retaining pin to keep it safe. It's gonna come with two D-rings or links here that you can tighten up. Those are gonna be on your safety chains. You always wanna make sure you have safety chains on your camper trailer, or anything you're towing. It's also gonna come with a nice set of instructions here, the way you can get this set up. I received my purchase and unfortunately it was missing half the contents. I have purchased before without issues. This may just be an isolated issue. Will say customer service is great and they promptly sent me return label to return the hitch.
This is a strong, well built WD hitch receiver. Arrived undamaged and I was able to install it easily, instructions were clear and etrailer has several videos that make it clear just what to do. My only concern was that the amount of noise the tension bars would make with movement, especially turning, but that has turned out to be minimal. The recommended setting of the hardware where the bars rest turned out to be just right for my 2015 Odyssey, and the camper (Little Guy Mini Max) and van ride level and within specs. Driving the combo was very satisfactory with nary a wiggle or sway, and ground clearance is also fine . I do have one complaint, and other reviews mention this too: the hardware that mounts on the trailer tongue tends to rotate during the stress of use, and I have had to readjust mine twice now. The use of nylon lock nuts for this hardware was not a good choice by the manufacturer. I am switching to lock washers and standard nuts of proper rating to see if that solves the problem. Were it not for this issue, I would have given a 5-star rating.
Pulled to Dallas from Jackson, MS and back and they performed as advertised - sway was cut way dawn. When it did occur it was self correcting.

I used this twice and then purchased another brand, it did not fit my rig properly. In order to put the arms on the brackets (that are on the trailer) I had to raise the rear of the truck very high. Not fun or safe.
First my truck and trailer sit and travel LEVEL, and I am pleased with the hitch after loosing one of the original “pins” while traveling(these are the pins that keep the sway bars on L brackets). I ordered the replacement “Pins” Now after a couple thousand miles, I do like how stable the truck and trailer are when other vehicles pass, the side push pull is much less. If the hitch came with the replacement “Pins” this would be a 5 Star Review.
the only problem I had was when the UPS man picked up the box all the nuts,bolts and hair pins fell out. other than that, I have received accurate advice as for the purchase and i am very happy with the hitch and its quality. easy to set yp and sturdy. tows great
Easy to install haven’t driven the truck yet, but it seems to be doing exactly what it needs too.
Trailer hooked up with the blue ox the rear of the truck sits 4” higher than without. The nose drops about 3/4” compared to no blue ox. Massive difference in the right direction.
The photos are a 2021 4Runner no extra load in the back. Trailers 17’ ~3,500lbs max. I believe about a 350lb tongue weight and was mostly un-loaded.
This tows very well. However the hitch head is very heavy, and the brackets on the trailer tongue for the spring bars loosen up regardless of bolt torque.
Hello, The weight distribution seems to work fine. We took our traveler trailer on 2 trips since purchasing the trailer hitch and all the accessories. The sway is just frightening. We have not had any real wind, this was in May and July of this year. But super scary, and when a tractor trailer passes us, even just one, forget it. We are towing with a big Ford Expition also. I would not recommend this model. It was expensive and we will have to figure out what we are going to replace it with. Gil
Works well. It's my first time with a distribution hitch, so I've no basis for comparison. I tow a 7200# 30' trailer with a 2007 F-150 (full-timer). It took a few trips to the scales to get things right, since I'm very close to my weight limits. Product arrived without the receiver (damaged box). Etrailer was very quick to provide replacement.
On assembly, I discovered that it was sent with incorrect mounting plates. Blue Ox expedited a parts kit. Overall, it seems to work well. I still have to be careful with wind, or I get pushed around on the road. It's mostly a non-issue.
I've traveled about 5-6K miles, and there is some noticeable wear, scoring, and rust developing where the torsion bars meet the trailer. These parts should be easily replaceable, as long as they're still manufactured. You may want to consider spares once you confirm that you have the correct bars. The friction points can develop metal splinters.
The pivots started showing wear after a long stretch of bouncy highway in Iowa. It was within the 1st 1000 miles, so I'll count this as break-in. I just readjusted the mounting point on the trailer at an overnight stop. I haven't had to adjust it since. The slop in the bushings makes for a greasy mess.
Wear gloves and put a plastic bag over the receiver when you remove it, or you're going to get greasy. Also, be careful of how low the receiver hangs down. I've caught it twice in uneven parking lots. I'm leaving it long, since it helps protect the tongue jack.
It meets expectation. Etrailer and Blue Ox provided excellent customer service. I still took one star, since I was on a deadline with work, and my plans got pushed back two weeks because of this. It shouldn't have happened in the first place, but the customer service from both parties was fantastic.

Wow can’t believe this company would mail out a product sold as new in this condition.
Bought this to reduce rear sag in truck and you would think installing is pretty common sense but apparently it isn't. Instructions aren't very clear and since sad didn't go away at all, I'm guessing it isn't installed correctly. Instructions need to be MORE clear than they are otherwise you'll need to pay a professional to install it as I have no idea if it's correct or not.
Love this hitch system. I was hesitant to spend the money but I am so glad that I did. I have had the system for about a year now and it has impressed me every time I use it. I recently put a 3.5” lift kit on my truck and with the easy adjustments on the hitch system, I was able to accommodate for the lift in about 20 minutes. Would recommend
This thing is amazing! I bought this to haul my 24’ car (toy) hauler behind my 03 Suburban which has coil springs instead of leaf springs. This hitch has made a world of difference. I honestly was shocked at the difference it made. It almost feels like I’m not hauling a trailer at all.
Rock Solid towing! 15 year old truck with original suspension - just look at that alignment. Towed all along the Columbia River Gorge on a windy day and stayed in my lane the whole way.
Received my weight distribution hitch with two days of placing my order. The hitch works well for my set up and installation was easy. My truck hitch weight is 600lbs. and max tow weight is 6000lbs. My 22ft. long RV trailer max capacity loaded is about 20% less than my trucks specs. Etrailer sells quality accessories. Their prices are good, and their experience, knowledge and customer service are the best. It would be hard to find a better dealer that could provide better service with very fast shipping.
I bought this in April '22 for our new trailer. The second day of our trip to Alaska, one of the Retaining Keys with the cotter pin fell off. It was while hooking up to our campsite that we saw it was gone and the spring bar bar had been free of mooring. Luckily we had a C Bolt and duck tape to hold the one sway bar without the retaining key and taped up the other to make sure it didn't fall off on the rest of our journey. When we called Blue Ox they sent two day to AK the two packages of the retaining key w/step. These turned out different than the ones that came on the TracPro and are thicker and shorter - I think these were suppose to come with the TracPro WD/Sway and should have been in the package when we got it. There is too much play between the sring bar and the L Bracket with the Retaining key that was in our order. Pictures for reference. If you order the Blue Ox TracPro, call make and sure you get the correct Retaining Keys with it, you should not have to buy them separately.
It was installed professionally by camping world. Coating is all coming off. Arms pop out during travel. The square pins fall though slots. The angled brackets that mount to camper chassis are failing. Its the worst hitch I have ever owned. Literally.

I bought the 10K to replace a worn out 12K Equalizer hitch. Does the same job as my previous hitch and is lighter in weight. That helps me out since I remove it from my truck when not in use and I'm not getting any younger :)
My only gripe with etrailer is shipping quality. This is a heavy item, well constructed, heavy duty, not lightweight. To ship this in a standard cardboard box without reinforcement is nuts. When delivered by UPS this box had gapping holes and part of the contents were protruding outside the shipping box. My UPS driver stated that such heavy items should be attached to a wood skeleton inside the box to keep from moving around during shipment. To my amazement all the parts were present, albeit banged up a bit with paint damage and gouging. So be aware that you may find your order in similar condition. etrailer responds to me with yada yada. Not real happy with this one but the unit itself is quite robust although a little black enamel will be required.
Product was shipped very fast. I received in three days. Price was best I could find as well. The only thing I would advise for etrailer, is to do a better job shipping heavy products. My box was busted wide open, and it was defiantly an insufficient box for the items inside. I was lucky to not lose anything.
