Features to know about

Carry Heavy Loads and Stay Level, Wherever You Go

Loading up your vehicle shouldn't lead to sloppy steering, sketchy braking, or poorly aimed headlights. But factory suspension can only do so much before heavy loads start dragging everything down. Pacbrake's Alpha SD air springs add up to 1,800 lbs of load support to your rear axle, keeping your stance level and your handling sharp. That means better traction, safer braking, and headlights that stay aimed where they belong, especially important when hauling at night or in rough weather. If you're moving work gear, towing a small trailer, or packing for a weekend trip, you'll feel the difference in every mile you drive.

Adjustable Support That Can Change With Your Load

No two hauls are the same, and your suspension shouldn't be stuck in a one-size-fits-all setup. With simple manual inflation, you can dial in air pressure from 10 psi for empty cruising, to 100 psi when the bed is loaded or the trailer is hitched. It's a fast, flexible way to get your truck back to level without guessing or settling for a rough ride.

Ride Comfort That Doesn't Disappear When You Unload

Heavy loads demand extra support, but when the weight comes off, you still want your truck to drive like a truck, not like a brick. Thanks to the smart sleeve-style air spring design, you can safely lower pressure down to 10 psi when unloaded without losing control or beating yourself up on rough pavement. That means a smooth, predictable ride whether your bed is stacked with cargo or empty and ready for weekend cruising.

Precision Fit, Built for Real Roads, Real Loads, Real Trucks

No one buys an air bag kit to waste a weekend wrenching. This system bolts up cleanly with laser-cut, powder-coated steel brackets that mount to factory points. Mounting hardware resists corrosion, and everything you need - lines, fittings, valves, and detailed instructions - is in the box. Rain, mud, freezing cold, heavy hauls, this kit handles it all. With rugged air springs, corrosion-resistant parts, and a lifetime warranty to back it up, you're not just leveling your load, you're getting peace of mind that your truck's ready for anything. Thinking about onboard air down the road? With standard ports and fittings already in place, the foundation is built in, making it easy to expand when you're ready.

Video Transcript for Review of Pacbrake Vehicle Suspension - Alpha SD Rear Axle Sleeve Style Air Bag Kit - PB44MV

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha SD rear axle sleeve-style airbag suspension kit. Now, this kit has been designed fit your 2015 to 2022 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon four-wheel drive, and on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, loading up your Canyon or Colorado should not lead to sloppy steering, poorly-aimed headlights or sketchy braking, but your factory suspension can only do so much before heavy loads start dragging everything down.

Now, these are going to add up to 1,800 pounds of load-leveling support to your rear axle and that's gonna help keep your stance level and your handling sharp. What this means for you is better traction, safer braking, and headlights that are gonna stay aimed where they belong, especially important when hauling at night or in rough weather. So if you're moving work gear, if you're towing a small trailer or packing for a weekend trip, you're gonna feel the difference in every mile that you drive. Now, as you no doubt know, no two hauls are exactly the same and your suspension shouldn't be stuck in a one-size-fits-all setup. With simple manual inflation, you're gonna be able to dial in that air pressure from 10 PSI for empty cruising, all the way up to 100 PSI when the bed is loaded and the trailer is hitched.

It's gonna be a fast and flexible way to get your truck back to level without guessing or settling for a rough ride. Now, when your cargo changes, your truck adapts and you're not gonna have to worry about tools or shop visits, just smart, simple control you can handle yourself. But heavy loads do demand extra support, and so when the weight comes off, you still want your truck to drive like a truck, not like a brick, so thanks to this smart sleeve style air spring design, you're gonna be able to safely lower pressure down to 10 PSI when unloaded, without losing control or beating yourself up on rough pavement, so this is going to mean for you a smooth, predictable ride, whether your bed is stacked with cargo, or empty and ready for weekend cruising. No constant adjusting, no clunky ride, just consistent comfort and control. Now, this system is gonna bolt up cleanly with these laser-cut, powder-coated steel brackets that mount to factory points.

Now, I don't have all of the hardware laid out on my table, but I've got a great photo showing you everything that's included with this kit. I thought that would be better than just trying to pile up the hardware on my table for you, so you have a nice clean image showing you all the hardware, everything is gonna be included with this kit, and so that mounting hardware is gonna resist corrosion. So everything that you're gonna need, lines, fittings, valves, instructions as well to guide you through that insulation process, everything's in the box, so whether you encounter rain, mud, freezing cold, heavy hauls, this kit is going to be able to handle all of it. With these rugged air springs, corrosion-resistant parts, and a lifetime warranty to back it up, you're not just leveling your load, you're getting peace of mind that your truck is gonna be ready for virtually anything, but then if you're thinking about onboard air down the road, these bags are built to grow with your setup. You can just add a air compressor when you're ready and you'll be good to go.

Now, I mentioned that this is going to give you a load-leveling support of up to 1,800 pounds, but please be aware of the fact that these do not actually increase your Colorado or Canyon's weight-carrying capacity, so you do wanna make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. If you do pick this kit up, I would love to hear back from you regarding how the installation went and how these springs are working out for you, so you can drop a comment or leave a review on this product page sharing your experiences with us. And if you have any other additional questions that I did not answer during our time together, please feel free to reach back out to us, whether it's by phone, email, or chat. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

The air bags seem to work well. The installation was tricky and I wouldn’t recommend it for the amateur.

Easy installation. Instructions are pretty simple. Be sure to follow torque specs. Add a little thread seal tape to your 90 swivel fitting to prevent leaks. The heat shield was not necessary for my year model(2024),since there was plenty of space between the air bags and the exhaust. Instead of drilling holes under license plate, I just used the screw hole for my license plate for schrader valves. Just drilled out the license plate holes out and little placed through. No more bouncing or suspension sag. Recommended!

Bolted right into place, GMC Canyon. No installation issues or hang up’s. Whole thing Might have taken about 3 hours. Pumped em’ up and have been driving for a week, no leaks no issues. I recommend!

Glad to hear that, Rob :) Everything looks great. What do you tow where you like having the extra suspension support ?

@BrookeM . Hi Brooke, I tow a 23’ center console boat, which was really making my suspension sag. I also regularly tow a motorcycle on a hitch carrier, which also made my suspension sag. Both needed different levels of support and the boat never gets towed on the highway but the moto does. So I am hoping these air bags will take care of the different levels of support needed for each function. Haven’t towed yet but will likely do so this week.

@Rob I think air bags were a smart choice! Let me know what you think once you've gotten to use them :) Do you do race with the motorcycle?
