Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar

Hello everybody, this is Jeff for the etrailer.com. Today will take a look at this Putco 60-inch long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar. Now this is a custom fit bar. It is designed to fit many different years and models of Chevrolet GMC, Ford, Ram, Nissan and Toyota trucks. Put in your year model vehicle and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this is a nice tailgate light bar which will provide auxiliary tail stop, turn and backup light functions. It is designed to install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate, between the tailgate and the bumper. The LEDs on this will produce a nice bright red, amber or white light based on which signal is being used. Now, at the end of this video I am going to connect this light to some 12-volt power just to show you how the light works and how bright it is.

But I first wanna go over some of the features of the light. Gonna zoom in, get you a close up of it. It does use COB which is the chip onboard LED technology. Creates a nice bright solid panel of light. The LED chips are mounted close together for a uniform high intensity light similar to a lighting panel.

If you notice it's a sealed lens and housing unit which is waterproof. Has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. And it uses a nice tinted polycarbonate housing which provides a nice sleek look when you install this. Now, this is a nice, simple installation. Comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape with the mounting clips, the connectors you need.

Even comes with this quick connector wiring harness which will plug into your vehicle's existing light connections so there's no cutting or splicing of wires. Application again this is first full size trucks. The dimensions, the total length from this end to this end is gonna be 60 inches. The width of it is only 5/8 of an inch, height is 3/8 of an inch. Now, when this goes into the backup light output which is the cool white color. It's about 3000 lumens. And again we're gonna show you that. So what we're gonna do now is I'm gonna go ahead and turn on our 12-volt power. We got it all hooked up. Go ahead and turn off our overhead lights and you can see it's a nice bright and red for your taillights. And when you do apply your brakes just to show you you can see how it gets brighter for your brakes. And then also what's nice is when you go to make your turn you can go ahead and probably get an amber. You can see when you get the amber that would be like on your passenger's side turn signal. It's an amber row of lights. And then if you go to your driver's side turn signal and see the amber row of lights for the turn signal light up. And then again if you go put it in reverse and you do your backup lights you'll see that when it goes it gives you a nice bright, cool white light. And as I mentioned it's 3000 Lumens when it's in this backup light output. So everybody will know your backing up. You can see how bright the white is. Turn back on our overhead light, turn off our 12-volt power. But that should do it for the review on this Putco 60-inch long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar..
