Most ladder racks don't work with a soft topper. This kit pairs the JayBar ladder rack with the Solo roll-up soft topper on the same Fas-Top rail system, so ladders and lumber ride above your bed while the topper stays fully usable below.
The Solo gives camping gear, hunting gear, bikes, stacked bins, tools, and other tall cargo cab-height coverage while the JayBars carry ladders, kayaks, lumber, and other long gear above the bed. Both mount to the same Fas-Top rails, so long gear can ride overhead without taking up the covered space below.
The Solo's aluminum X-frame folds down into the sling in less than a minute while the JayBars stay installed above the bed. If you need your whole bed, release the 4 corner latches and pull 2 pins to remove the Solo completely without taking the Fas-Top rails off your truck. The JayBars can stay installed, so the rack is still available for long cargo when you don't need the topper. If you need to tow with a 5th-wheel or gooseneck hitch, remove the Solo and JayBars to clear the bed for towing.
The model-specific Fas-Top rails clamp to your truck's bed rails without drilling or welding. Installation only requires a 9/16" wrench or socket and a tape measure. Built-in utility tracks give the Solo, JayBars, and other Fas-Top accessories dedicated mounting points on the same rail system.
The JayBars give ladders, kayaks, lumber, and other long cargo a place to ride above the bed. Add the compatible JayBar side bars (FT58YJ - sold separately) when you want more mounting space along the sides of the rack for gas cans, recovery jacks, traction boards, and other gear. The side bars have T-slot channels and can mount in a high or low position, so you can place accessories where they work best for your setup.
You won't always need cab-height coverage. When tools, coolers, luggage, or other gear fits below the bed rails, remove the Solo and install the compatible Fas-Top soft roll-up tonneau cover (FT53PV - sold separately). The JayBars stay on the Fas-Top rails, so you can keep carrying ladders, kayaks, lumber, or other long gear above the bed while the tonneau cover protects smaller cargo below. When you need cab-height coverage again, remove the tonneau cover and put the Solo back on.
The Solo comes with clear front and rear windows. If you're camping in your truck bed, traveling with pets, or carrying gear that needs more ventilation, replace the clear rear window with the mesh rear window (FT39UV - sold separately).
If you have luggage, tools, camping gear, or other cargo you don't want visible through the back of the topper, the blackout rear window (FT33HV - sold separately) replaces the clear rear window with an opaque panel.
