- Is Derale Dual-Pass Heat Sink Cooler # D13267 as Effective at Cooling as Traditional Tube/Fin StyleIt would depend on how much of a temperature drop you are seeking. It would not drop as much as a traditional tube and fin radiator. It would be something I would choose if I did not need the maximum amount of cooling in the smallest package available. We do carry frame rail coolers in a similar size and shape that are traditional tube and fin style that will cool more than the heat sink style. All filtering is done by the factory filters. As far as efficiency goes, heat sink rail mounted coolers are low on efficiency but fit in some tight places. If you need a cooler recommendation I would need to know the year, make, and model of the vehicle.
