Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Polar Hardware Folding Assist. This Assist can be mounted almost anywhere that you need some help getting into and out of the truck or trailer. It's going to be great for buses, work trucks, industrial applications, things along those lines. Really nice design. We've had a few customers that have used this for a couple different purposes. We've had an individual that put it on a dump truck to help gain access to those hard to get or hard to access areas. We also had another individual put it on a trailer to help gain access to the view stack 00:00:34 area of the trailer.
It's a very versatile design. Very easy to mount. Very easy to use. It's going to feature this spring located back here. This holds the Assist in the open or closed position without rattle, so you just flip it down when you're ready to use it. When you're ready to get it a stowed position, just flip it up.
Really nice, easy to use design. The footing area does have a textured surface. This gives the unit great traction, which increases overall safety when using the Assist. It's made from a steel construction with a galvanized finish. Two mount holes on the unit. Mounting hardware's not included.
These mount holes are separated on center by around four inches apart from one another. The back plate has an overall measurement going this direction of pretty close to four and three quarters of an inch. Going this direction, it's going to measure pretty close to two inches wide. The footing area or the pad itself, that measure four inches by about two and one eighth. The depth, overall depth from back to the end of the footing area has a depth of about three and thirteen sixteenths of an inch.
When it's in a stowed position, the depth is only about one and one sixteenth of an inch deep. When it's in a stowed position, it's going to measure about five and a half inches tall. That's going to do it for today's look at the Polar Hardware Folding Assist.

I bought this for a boat trailer for mounting on the frame to climb over the side of the boat when it is on the trailer. I mounted it using 3/8x3-5/8x4 inch square U Bolts. 5/16 dia bolts would be ideal if available. I reamed the holes slightly so 3/8 dia bolt would fit. The step is well made and looks good. Dimensions on the website are accurate.
Placed order on a Saturday and item was packed same day. Received on following Wednesday. Same item was on another well known site for $[XX] each plus shipping. I got two steps [that were less expensive than a competitor] plus FAST Shipping. They even tried to answer my question on how to properly mount the item on my Dog Box. I did not even know what thickness the alum tubing was I was mounting it too. My wife's cousin made it for me and he died a few years back. Attached are pictures of the finished job. I have bad knees and it is hard for me to get up and down. I even have a step that drops from under the bumper to step up on the tailgate.
Good and sturdy. Using it as a step to reach high shelves in my closet. Required beefing up the wooden panel where it mounts. Now need to make a "cowcatcher" to fold it up as the door closes.
I saw a photo where someone used your product as a step into a Jeep. I thought what a great idea! So I did it too! I had them powder coated black!
I used 5 of these steps to create access to my 06 Sprinter roof rack. They have worked out very well. I mounted 3 on the passenger side rear door near the hinge side starting low and 2 on the passenger side rear quarter along the body panel seam for the upper steps.
way too small. I weigh about 220 and certainly wouldn't trust it to stand on. If I had seen it on a store shelf I would have laughed at it and walked away. Planning to use it as a hand hold to help climb into my attic. I had bought a large set at another vendor and thought this has the same, I was wrong. I'd return it but the shipping is about the cost of the item.

It works well when needed and folds out-of-the-way when not in use. So far, so good !
Product is great for a easy step up to the gooseneck of the trailer.
These worked great on a Ford F250 work truck. The bumper sits too high and this helps to get in and out of the bed.
Put on my dump truck, works great. Can step on it to check in the bed without climbing down from the truck and back up.
Product was as I expected and in new condition. I have purchased several items from etrailer, and have always been satisfied with their products and delivery. I recommend them.
Great product, we use these steps multiple times a day and they have held up extremely well.
These steps are really good for outdoor use. I use them in several different applications for my customers.
Looks solid
Great product, exactly what I wanted !! Great place to shop !!

The steps continue to be a great solution to access my roof rack. I was concerned about rust on the pivot pin but that has not happened.
