Today on our 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring Edition, were going to be installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part number C11471. Heres what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now well go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 5-1/2 inches. From the top of the opening and the receiver to the ground is approximately 10 inches. Now lets go ahead and install our hitch. Before we begin our install, were going to go ahead and point out our attachment points.
Well begin over here on the driver side. Well go ahead and point out the two existing weld nuts that well be using. Now over here on our passenger side, again well be using two existing weld nuts. Next were going to go ahead and take some spray lubricant and a nylon tube brush and clean out each of the four weld nuts. The tube brush well be using is part number 814092. Now its a good idea once youve cleaned out the existing weld nuts to make sure that the bolt threads in easily.
Its a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you raise the hitch up into position. Well go ahead and install all four locations just hand tight. Now the hardware that well be using is a 10 mm hex bolt and a 3/8ths conical tooth washer. You want to make sure that the teeth face towards the hitch when installed. Now with all of our hardware loosely installed, we can go ahead and tighten it down and then torque to the manufacturers specification. That will do it for our installation of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part number C11471 in our 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring.

Product fitted perfectly on my 2010 Hyundai Touring. No cutting or any mods to the car were necessary. A tip for others would be to screw in the bolts beforehand a little to clear any dirt from the bolt holes. I also recommend using a jack to support the hitch or else get a 2nd person to hold the hitch in place. Very pleased with the product!
This was the third time I have ordered from etrailer and just as the first two times it has been excellent. The ordering is easy, the shipping is prompt, and the order is tracted. Oh, and the hitch I ordered for my car fit like a glove! I recommend etrailer to everyone I know!

The product has continued to work really well. I use the hitch weekly to tow my glider aircraft in its trailer and I have been really satisfied.
