Hello, neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at our BulletProof Hitches Kinetic Recovery Rope. Now this is their extreme duty one. It's 1-1/4" thick by 30' long, rated at an impressive 52,300 pounds of max brake strength. So folks, if you never used a kinetic recovery rope, pretty simply the rope is designed to use kinetic energy to get a stuck vehicle recovered, unstuck, however you wanna word it. This size is gonna be perfect for class three trucks, motor homes, and even large farm equipment such as like tractors, combines, those kind of things.
Maybe a grain truck that gets stuck in the field or whatnot. You can use it as a tow rope as well, or as just an extension to your winch cable. It'll work just fine for those things as well. The ends are super, super reinforced. This is almost hard as a rock, the way they've got this coating on there.
It's a polyethylene coating. It protects the attachment points from scratches, UV, water, all that kind of stuff. I always recommend you inspect these and make sure they're dry before you put 'em away and store 'em. So let's say you gotta recover something from maybe a creek or a mud pit or whatnot. Make sure you put this out in the sun.
Let it dry out before you put it away so it doesn't get mildew, mold, that kind of stuff and everything. And I also recommend that you use D-rings or shackles, those kind of things to attach these, never tie knots and that kind of stuff. Or try to hook just a hook over it or something like that, 'cause those things could potentially slip off and cause damage to you or the vehicle. So again, use a D-ring or some shackles and be safe about it. Another thing, you never wanna go around axles, those kind of things.
Again, you want to use recovery attachment points on the vehicle. That way you're not breaking anything when you're getting unstuck. Now again, if you've never used a kinetic tow recovery rope, basically what you're doing is you're backing up the vehicle to the vehicle that's stuck and you're gonna basically, in this case it's 30' long, you're gonna come back a little bit, maybe 5' to 10', give or take. And then you're gonna slowly just get a little speed and kind of go. And that kinetic energy built up inside of this rope will then hopefully pull the stuck vehicle out of the pit or the stuck hole or whatnot. So you never wanna be closer than 25% of the total length. So in this case, it's 30' long. You never wanna be closer than 22' apart. So you wanna at least 22' apart from those two vehicles to get 'em unstuck. You don't wanna be jerking and big old takeoffs and that kind of stuff either. So read some information about kinetic recovery ropes if you're not familiar with them to make sure you're doing it safely. So again, folks, you're gonna get one rope. You also get these two included hook and loop straps, so whenever you got this folded up as neat as you can, you can put these around it and then keep it all in one nice neat pile and then put it in your toolbox or wherever you store your gear. Well folks, that's gotta wrap it up for our quick look at this BulletProof Hitch Kinetic Recovery Rope. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
Appears to be excellent quality. No fraying. Holds up compared to previous kinetics I’ve owned.
