If you like a clean, stock look when you’re not towing, this setup fits the bill. The hidden bracket design keeps everything tucked behind the grille, so nothing bulky sticks out on the front. Once the drawbars are removed, the remaining brackets are nearly invisible and protected from scrapes and scuffs.
Getting ready to tow or unhook is fast and simple thanks to Roadmaster’s twist-lock setup. Just insert the drawbars into the brackets and twist to lock them in place—no pins or clips needed. When you’re done towing, twist again and pull them out. The removable arms make it easy to switch from travel mode to daily driving in seconds.
This kit is built for strength and reliability with computer-cut, all-steel construction. The black powder coat finish adds durability and corrosion resistance, so it holds up through miles of weather and road grime. It’s designed to bolt directly to your vehicle’s frame for a solid connection you can trust.
You don’t need to break out a welder for this one—just basic tools. The base plates are custom made for a perfect fit and come with detailed instructions and mounting hardware. It’s a straightforward bolt-on job that makes setting up your tow system much easier.
Already have a Roadmaster tow bar? This base plate kit connects right up when used with the quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00, sold separately). That means you can integrate it into your existing towing setup without starting from scratch.

It really is invisible! It took me a second to even find the base plates in your photo!

Thanks for the review and for sharing your installation experience Christian. Your tip about leaving the bumper on during install is really helpful, especially since fitting the ends through the louvers can take a little extra maneuvering. It’s also great to hear the setup works well with your Stowmaster 5000. The install looks great, and we appreciate you sharing the picture! Where did you go for the first trip?

Everything related to my Mini towing system is working great after a year of use.i do wish I had bought a cover for the tow bar though. Keeping it clean would be easier with the cover. Great products and service from etrailet

New system working fine. As with previous system it requires towed vehicle to be nearly perfectly aligned straight behind motorhome to disconnect without considerable tension.

Everything is working great, I installed a base plate kit, battery charging kit, stop light switch kit, second vehicle air brake kit w brakeaway and seat adapter on our 2019 Chevy Equinox and towed it about 14000 miles behind our motor home this past year and everything worked perfect not a problem with any product. These are great products, everything fit perfectly and performed perfectly. Thank you for great service and great products. Rob

It’s been a year now and probably 7,000 miles later and everything has held up perfectly despite some darn rough roads between MD and Albuquerque, NM and back.

Hate that every 3,000 miles towing have to re-torque bolts of base plate. Good product otherwise.

Other than the clearance of the mounting bracket I noted in my original review, the base plate worked out fine on the Kia. I ended up replacing the Kia with a new Subaru. I was able to buy a Blue Ox base plate for it and all mounting hardware is up and out of the way of obstacles.

Over the past year, i have towed the Fiat behind the motor home for 15000 miles or so. Rock Solid. Highly recommend. Ive had 2 blow outs on the motor home and the tread bounces off the Road Master Guardian without damaging the Fiat. The Guardian is scuffed and scratched and handling it well.

Though a torch would work, it is probably not the most recommended method. There are a lot of frames and bumper structures in modern cars that are made of hardened steel which can make drilling difficult. As always, a good sharp bit should be used. High pressure and low drill speed is the most effective way to drill through metals. If the drill is turning quickly, the bit will tend to skim along the surface, generate a lot of heat and wear the bit faster all while not ever getting a good bite into the material. Sometimes a cutting tool, like a Rotabroach, is the best way to cut through the hardened steels. Check part 6810 for the 12 inch size.
