When you’re logging miles behind the RV, you need gear that can handle the stress. The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms uses durable steel construction with a powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion. Its sturdy design spreads towing force evenly across the chassis to help reduce strain on your suspension. Once it’s bolted up, you’ve got a solid, reliable connection ready for the road ahead.
You don’t have to sacrifice looks for strength. The low-profile reinforcements and crossbar support beam blend smoothly with your bumper for a streamlined appearance when you’re not towing. The fixed draw bars keep things simple and visible, giving your front end a clean finish instead of bulky hardware sticking out.
This kit bolts directly to your vehicle’s chassis—no welding required. All mounting hardware comes with it for a straightforward install that’s easy to tackle with basic tools. Once in place, the sturdy lugs pair with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection every time you hook up.
If you already have a preferred tow bar system, this kit can work with it. It’s adaptable for use with Roadmaster tow bars when paired with adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5 (sold separately) and with Demco tow bars using adapter DM9523041 (sold separately). That flexibility makes it easy to fit into your existing towing setup without starting from scratch.
For planning your tow bar alignment, the distance between brackets is 22-1/2" and bracket height is 25". Those exact measurements help ensure that everything lines up right for smooth, dependable towing across every trip.

Glad the install went smoothly, Grant! Even with those weird handle nuts (which I agree are kind of odd). What's the first trip you have planned? And I will let Alex know what you said as well! : )

Thanks for your review, Richard! It sounds like this was a fairly involved installation, but we're glad to hear everything came together successfully in the end. We appreciate you sharing the details of your process, especially the tips about the tight frame rail clearance and drilling challenges, as those insights may help other RV owners tackling the same project. Thanks for including the photo as well. Your finished installation looks great! Now that it's installed and you're moving on to the diode kit and brake away switch, what adventure are you looking forward to most this summer in your RV?
