The RetraxONE XR uses high-quality polycarbonate (Lexan) panels supported by 5/8" thick aluminum I-beams every 4-3/4". That’s the same material used in aircraft canopies, so it won’t crack, fade, or warp from UV rays or temperature swings between -50°F and 200°F. The matte black finish resists scratches and stays cooler to the touch than metal covers. Weather stripping and foam seals along the rails and tailgate keep out snow, rain, and dust, while two drain tubes in the canister channel away water that collects inside.
When you close the cover, it locks tight against the tailgate for full cargo protection. The flush-mounted, pop-up handle stays hidden under a lid that shields the keyhole from dirt and corrosion. You can slide the cover open or closed with one hand and lock it at any point along the rails—handy when you want to carry long gear out back while keeping smaller items covered up front. Once latched, it operates independent of the tailgate, so you can open one without touching the other.
Instead of folding panels or snap straps, the cover rolls smoothly into a compact canister at the bulkhead using sealed ball-bearing rollers that never need lubrication. The spiral track inside keeps the cover from rubbing against itself, preventing wear over time. The canister’s angled bottom leaves more space underneath for tools or smaller cargo. When closed, the rails sit just 1" above the bed for a low-profile, streamlined look.
The integrated Trax Rail System along the side rails lets you mount T-slot-compatible racks and accessories from Yakima, Thule, Rhino-Rack, and others. That means you can carry kayaks, bikes, or ladders above the cover while keeping the bed sealed below. The tracks don’t interfere with the retracting mechanism, so the cover slides open and closed even with racks installed.
Everything clamps directly to the bed rails—no drilling required. The cover arrives pre-assembled in the canister, and with two people you can bolt the rails on, attach the drain tubes, and be ready to roll. The RetraxONE XR supports up to 200 lbs of evenly distributed weight when closed, combining durable materials, smooth function, and accessory flexibility for a reliable, all-season tonneau solution.

One year in and I have no problems with this cover. Still opens and closes smoothly. It does take up more room than I was expecting but its not something that would keep me from buying it again. I have added the Yakima rack to it and it all works great.

Terrific product. Ive been very pleased. The only only improvement I can suggest, improve the drainage hose attachment fittings. They come loose too easily.

Glad to hear it looks great, Shelli! I have had a similar cover on my Silverado since 2018 and the retractable covers are the way to go, at least in my opinion. I haven't any issues with the canister making loading up the bed with stuff cause any problems and I don't think you will either. ^___^ What are you typically keeping in your bed? I always have a milk crate with survival type stuff in it, just in case!
