When you’re hauling tools or expensive equipment, you need a cover that keeps everything safe from both weather and theft. The RetraxPRO MX uses heavy-duty aluminum slats that are 1" thick and impact resistant. The locking handle secures the cover at any point along the rails, and when used with a locked tailgate, it creates a sealed, tamper-resistant barrier. The matte black finish resists scratches and fading, so it stays looking clean even after years in the sun.

A tonneau that sticks or binds makes cargo access frustrating. The RetraxPRO MX glides effortlessly on sealed ball-bearing rollers, so there’s no need for lubrication or messy tracks. The pop-up handle lets you open and close the cover with one hand, and the retractable design gives you full-bed access in seconds. Because it has no hinges or springs to wear out or freeze, operation stays smooth in any weather.

Rain, snow, and dust can ruin a load if they sneak past a poor seal. This cover uses automotive-grade weather stripping at the bulkhead and foam seals along the rails to keep your bed dry and clean. It even overlaps the top of the tailgate to block water from dripping inside. The included drain tubes route water out of the canister through the factory holes in the bed, keeping the stored cover dry and mildew-free.

Retractable covers often steal bed space, but this one packs neatly into a low-profile canister only 13-1/2" deep and 12" tall. The angled bottom leaves room to slide gear underneath, and the spiral track system keeps the slats from rubbing together, preventing wear. You can latch the cover partially open to protect smaller items up front while hauling larger gear in back.

Whether it’s heavy snow or stacked cargo, the RetraxPRO MX can handle up to 500 lbs of evenly distributed load. Its aluminum build resists dents and corrosion, and the flush-mounted rails—sitting just 1" above the bed—keep the look sleek and streamlined. It’s a durable, low-profile solution that stays strong through years of work, travel, and weather.

After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!

Install looks great Jesse! We couldn’t agree more about the instructions. Honestly, unclear instructions are exactly why we started making our own install videos many moons ago, because seeing it done can make all the difference. It’s good to hear the cover feels solid and slides smoothly once installed. Your notes on water sealing and debris are fair, especially with RamBox-equipped beds and tailgate fitment. We appreciate you sharing your experience, and we hope it continues to serve you well over time.
