Some covers take a lot of time to remove when you need the full bed. The Switchblade solves that with a retractable deck that can be installed or taken off by one person in about 10 minutes. Just loosen the clamps with a wrench, lift off the compact canister, and you’ve got every inch of bed space back for large loads. When it’s time to cover up again, the cover glides smoothly on tension-spring tracks and locks down flush at the tailgate for a clean, solid fit.

Rain, dust, and debris don’t stand a chance against the ArmorTek deck. It’s built from heavy-gauge aluminum panels bonded to a black vinyl top layer, giving you the soft-cover look with hard-cover strength. A large rear seal closes the gap between the tailgate and cover, while foam seals under the rails and canister keep water out. The result is cargo protection that holds up through daily use and harsh weather.

Opening this cover is as quick as squeezing the pinch grips under the rear plate. A continuous tension spring automatically retracts the panels into the canister at the front of the bed, so you can uncover your gear in seconds without wrestling with folding sections. The built-in pull strap makes closing just as easy—just grab it and pull until the cover latches securely at the tailgate.

The side rails sit only about 1/8" above the bed rails for a sleek, aerodynamic look that blends with your truck’s lines. The low profile helps reduce wind drag and may improve gas mileage when closed. The compact 9-1/4" tall x 9-3/4" deep canister sits neatly at the bulkhead, keeping your rear window clear while protecting the rolled-up cover from weather and road grime.

When storms roll in, water channels in each rail funnel runoff into the canister where drain tubes carry it out through factory holes in the bed floor. This system helps keep cargo dry and prevents water from freezing in the rails during cold weather, so operation stays smooth season after season.

A year later and the cover is still working great. I do have to say that it leaks like a sieve at the tailgate, but that’s the only issue. It’s hard coming from a tri-fold that completely covers the bed and kept water out, but the benefits still outweigh this one con. It’s holding up great and still slides flawlessly. I probably don’t lubricate it quite as much as I should, but the few times I’ve done it has helped it slide like new again.

Glad you like it! I have had one of these on my Silverado since 2018 and it's still holding up very well! Just don't smash a bookcase into it when it isn't opened all the way. They don't like that. : P What are you going to be keeping in your bed? I keep a bunch of survival type gear in a milk crate. The cover keeps everything nice and dry.

Update: Purchased in July 2025, it is now September 8th 2025, so basically 2 months since installed. The cover will not retract all the way. Called the manufacturer for warranty. I basically have to remove the cover and inspect the spring assembly. They will then send out a new spring assembly that I will need to install myself. This will require a fair amount of my time, which I am not happy about. This unit should not fail in two months, especially with very limited use. I would have preferred them to send a new cartridge that I could put in the truck for ease of repair. They dont care about the customer experience, apparently. Do better Pace Edwards!
