You can open or close the Switchblade in seconds thanks to its retractable design and spring-assisted operation. Just squeeze the pinch grips under the rear plate and the cover glides into its canister automatically. The built-in pull strap makes it easy to close again. When you need full bed space, the entire system comes off in about 10 minutes using only a wrench and screwdriver—no drilling required.
The deck is made from heavy-duty aluminum slats laminated with a black vinyl top layer. This ArmorTek surface gives it the smooth look of a soft cover but the strength and security of a hard one. At just under 70 pounds, it’s light enough for one person to handle but tough enough to stand up to snow, road debris, and heavy use without sagging or warping.
Built-in drain tubes funnel water out through factory holes in the bed floor, while foam seals line the rails and canister edges. A large seal at the tailgate blocks gaps so rain and wash water stay out. The canister itself is sealed and angled to protect the retracted cover from water or debris, helping extend its life even through harsh seasons.
This cover sits only 1/8" above the bed rails for a low-profile look that blends into the truck’s lines. The aerodynamic shape cuts wind drag and can help improve gas mileage when closed. Because it mounts inside the rails, you keep a flush appearance without losing usable cargo space in the bed.
When paired with a locked tailgate, the Switchblade keeps your gear safe. The pull strap and release latches are positioned underneath the rear plate where they can’t be reached when closed. The rigid aluminum panels resist prying or cutting better than soft covers, so tools, hitches, or groceries stay protected when you’re parked.

This is the second time we've ordered from etrailer and both times and have been happy with our purchases. Our tonneau cover was delivered complete, undamaged and 1 right on time
This is a nice enough cover and fairly easy to install but does not keep the bed of the truck dry like some other covers I have owned.
The bad:
1. The product showed up with damage. Box looked to be taped to fix it being dropped.
2. The metal parts that rest on the bed rail were bent.
3. They talk about shims in the instructions and the video but do not show where the shims are. I did have to remove them to help even out the distance the rails are between the front and back.
The good:
1. All parts were still in the box.
2. I was able to straighten the metal parts and install the product.
3. The installation video was very helpful.

The photo of the shims are located in step 3 of the instructions as a metal piece on top of the frame rail brackets. Customer Service will reach out to you about the damage.
First - etrailer is the best. I've NEVER dealt with a better retailer (and I'm an old guy).
Now, the Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau...I ordered this on the 23rd (a Sunday). It was shipped out and arrived on Wednesday. That's awesome.
I got home and it's in two boxes waiting on me.
Unboxed and installed in one hour. ONE HOUR.
I would recommend watching an installation video on YouTube ahead of the install, but this was one of the simplest installs I've done.

Excellent product, easy installation, good directions, less than 2 hours. Covers/locks bed when closed. Easy access for large items without requiring removal of cover.
Ships in 2 boxes, get 2 tracking numbers. 1 box had bad shipping label and got lost for a day. etrailer is a good retailer.
This cover was easy to install and fit well on our 2017 Ram 2500. Quality seems to be very good and the cover retracts easily and needs only a light effort to extend it again. The latches engage on each side rail near the tailgate which has to be open to disengage the latches and extend the cover.

Was easy to install it took about 30 mins to install
After one year, this cover has worked out great. It keeps 95+% of the water out, nothing is 100%. The top still slides back and forth easily. I have removed and re-installed this top twice when I needed to install my truck camper. Very easy to re-install the cover.
Looks great and works great 1 year later! Keeps the weather out and secures everything I haul in the bed of my truck. I open the cover 3 or 4 times a day so I have learned that with that amount of use, I do have to lube the rails with lithium grease 2-3 times a month. My only complaint is some of the rubber gaskets are starting to deteriorate which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.
I like the SwitchBlade bed cover.It was easy for me to install.So far it's kept the water out.It's easy to open,and secure to protect things underneath the cover.I know there are more expensive bed covers;but this works just fine for me.
Easy install and perfect fit.
Quality is excellent but installation was a lot more difficult than I expected after watching a video of the installation process as well as reading and re-reading the instruction manual. I have a 2018 Ram 2500 where the pivot arms and clamps didn't quite fit the truck bed lip. I had to force the clamp under the lip to install each of the 4 clamps. I also had trouble closing the cover as the cover begins to bind in the track a few feet from the tailgate even after lubricating the tracks. I removed all the shims and pushed the rails as far as I could against the truck bed sides to no avail. I contacted and spoke with a service rep who said that the next easiest fix would be to remove the aluminum stops on the rail to push the rails further against the truck bed sides. He also said I could trim the edges of the cover with a razor blade or utility knife about 1/8" on each side. I have not done anything yet because I want to see if the cover loosens a bit after some use. Otherwise, it handled well in a rainstorm with no leaks and is a very tough cover for the snow load I expect next winter in MN.
The Pace Edwards Switchblade has performed well after a year. It's still holding up and is a great way to protect your bed and belongings. I use a slider hitch from Pull-Rite to tow and as long as the upper hitch plate is removed there is absolutely no interference. Also the cover does NOT interfere with towing when it's retracted. I would buy this again and recommend it for its durability and good looks.
I can confirm the cover fits the 2019 2500 perfect. The cover functions correctly, looks good, and was fairly simple to install. I had to add 2 shims on the cab side. The bed rail paint scratches very easily! I have several scratches on one side where I set it down on the spray in bed liner with the plastic still on and one small scratch on the other side. I tried to be careful but still ended up with scratches on the bed rail paint.

Pace Edwards Switchblade is a great truck topper. Installed on a new 2019 Ram 3500 Laramie. Fit perfectly and installed easily. Etrailer is a great company who provides excellent service, delivery and products at great prices. Highly recommend this product and Etrailer for all your shopping needs.

Still looking good and working good too.
Took lot longer to install but high qua lity
The flange on one side was bent a bit but was able to straighten enough that it worked but still, I know its bent and instructions could be a bit more informative.
Cover was very easily to install. However wasn’t pleased with how the cover of box was bowed and never sealed to truck bed, or the cover didn’t fit up to top cap. Wasn’t impressed with how quick the seals on the end caps tore off.
Good fit on RAM 2500.
Great service and fine product! Order was delivered in two packages and delivered on time, and all the parts were included (nothing left out as sometimes happens). Tonneau cover was easy to install both by following included directions or by using the demo video on the website. Item fit my 2026 RAM3500 DRW MEGA CAB like OEM and worked properly upon installation.
I have only one slight concern as you will see in provided pictures. To make the cover fully "water tight", you will need to add some type of seal or trim where the bed meets the bed rails, as the provided seal does not extend over this small, open area at the joint.

It is still great. The only issues are the two drain lines under the big unit come loose often. Other than that it goes over my fifth wheel and protects it when closed.
