Sometimes you just need to grab one tool or a couple of bags from the bed without uncovering everything. The Extang E-Series uses a tri-fold design that lets you lift the rear panel at the tailgate for quick access, or fold the rear and center sections forward to open two-thirds of the bed. When you need the whole space, the entire cover removes in minutes without leaving rails behind.
Keeping gear dry is easy with the E-Series. A full perimeter rubber seal runs along the edges to keep out water and road grime. Once the tailgate is locked, the spring-loaded clamps hold the panels tight, keeping the bed sealed and secure during heavy rain or while driving through dusty areas.
The frame is built from lightweight aluminum, reinforced with heavy-duty support bows that span the width of the bed. The top is a durable vinyl grain surface that stands up to everyday use and stays flexible through changing temperatures. Together they make a strong, easy-to-handle cover that doesn’t add unnecessary weight.
Installing or removing the cover doesn’t require tools or drilling. The clamps and hardware are built into the frame, so there are no loose parts to misplace. When the cover’s off, the bed is completely clear—no side rails or brackets left behind—so you can switch between full cargo use and covered protection whenever you need.
The standard-profile design sits on top of the bed rails and creates a smooth, low-resistance surface. That helps reduce wind drag at highway speeds while keeping the truck’s lines clean and simple. It’s a practical bonus that adds up over long drives and daily commutes alike.

That’s actually a pretty common thing with soft tonneau covers like this. When the temperature rises, the vinyl naturally expands, which can cause it to sag a bit in certain spots. It’s not a defect or anything like that, just the way the material reacts to heat. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that can be done to prevent it, especially in hotter climates, but the cover will still do its job of protecting your truck bed. Speaking of which, what do you keep in your bed?

Thanks for your feedback Eric and we apologize that was your experience, The Extang E-series is designed with weather seals and generally does a good job keeping water out during normal rain and driving conditions but like most soft folding tonneau covers, it is not completely waterproof. Going through a car wash, especially one with high pressure sprays or brushes could cause water to seep in around the seals or tailgate area. Touchless washes are usually safer than brush style washes for soft covers like this.
