Features to know about

Everyday Cargo Protection: Element Weather Seal

Rain, snow, and road grime can quickly ruin tools or groceries left in the bed. The Access Original uses an Element weather seal behind the cab and a reinforced vinyl flap at the tailgate to block out moisture and dirt. The double-coated, UV-blocking vinyl stays flexible down to -40 °F, so it seals tightly in every season without cracking or shrinking.

Close-up of the XT-Dial easy-grip tension adjuster and Element weather seal on the Access Original roll-up tonneau cover for precise fit and weather protection.

Full Bed Use Anytime: Roll-Up Design

When you need to haul lumber or tall gear, this soft cover rolls up in seconds. Just peel the sides free from the Velcro, roll it toward the cab, and secure it with the premium straps and clips. It stores neatly behind the cab without rubbing against it, giving you full bed space and a clear rear view while driving.

Rolled-up Access Original soft roll-up tonneau cover secured behind the truck cab with premium straps, showing convenient bed access and neat storage.

Smooth, Secure Operation: AutoLatch II with One-Hand Release

Closing the cover automatically engages two locks—one on each side—for solid security when the tailgate is locked. To open, a simple pull of the cord releases both latches at once. It’s quick, smooth, and easy even with one hand, so grabbing your gear doesn’t turn into a chore.

Close-up of AutoLatch II dual locking system on the Access Original roll-up tonneau cover showing secure closure and easy one-hand operation.

Always a Tight Fit: XT-Dial Tension Adjuster

Vinyl covers can loosen over time, but the built-in XT-Dial lets you fine-tune the fit with a quick turn. No tools needed. This keeps the cover tight and quiet at highway speeds and maintains that clean, finished look even after years of use.

Built to Last and Look Good: Aluminum Rails and Slantback Design

The black powder-coated aluminum rails and bows resist rust and support the vinyl top so it won’t sag. The cover sits 1-1/2 inches above the bed for a subtle, aerodynamic profile that can improve gas mileage by up to 10 percent. The signature Slantback shape gives the truck a sleek, streamlined look while leaving stake pockets open for racks or tie-downs.

Close-up of Tight Bite clamp securing the aluminum side rail of the Access Original roll-up tonneau cover to a truck bed for firm attachment.

I’m very pleased with the cover. The clips used to attach the rails of the cover to the truck are frustrating. On my truck the rails on the cover need to be about an inch wider. It was difficult to keep the clips in place when tightening them down. You need two people: one to tighten them and one to hold them in place. Of course my truck is 23 years old so I wouldn’t expect a redesign, I just wanted to give an honest opinion. And it is watertight which I’m very happy about.

I am glad you are liking the cover! Besides the hiccups installing (I have experienced this as well with my older ranger)but after that the fitment looks really nice on your truck!

Great fit, and good instructional video. I had some issues with not receiving the necessary hardware to install, however Alex T helped me resolve this issue. The cover looks great on my 94 C1500 extended cab stepside.

Works great. Update to original review...Customer service was great. They sent a new rail after reviewing the minor damages to the original shipment.

"I actually installed this cover on my 1992 Chevrolet Silverado step-side yesterday and it turned out great! I actually installed it without taking out the plastic bed liner. I'm really happy with the fit and look of this Access cover." and "As you can see in the photos, I did a slight mod to the bed liner where the rails bolt up in order to keep the protection of the bed liner and the tonneau cover fit snug as you can see."

I can't wait!
This was the old truck and setup... see attached.
This is after 5 years of regular abuse lol. Its a setup that turned a lot of heads in the field. And the new one will do the same.

Looks awesome--definitely a head-turner! Did you kind of piece together the set up as went or was this the plan the whole time? It really looks like you got a spot for any and everything!

Item #834532004676 fits my 2003 Toyota Tundra Stepside nicely. You do have to drill holes for the side rail screws, and the installation is moderately difficult due to the curvature of the sides of the bed. There are some rather rough relief slots cut into the rails to allow the extrusion to bend and match the contour of the sides. The instructions are a little sketchy on how to line up the screw holes so that you're hitting metal correctly under the bedrail caps, so I took my caps off and did my drilling, then put the caps back on.

Excellent overall. The ordering was easy on line to navigate and pick the exact cover for my vehicle. The shipment was on time with easy access to monitor the status. And the installation was not a problem. Had a bit of trouble with the front end installation but got it figured out. I found UTube installation video much more useful than the hard copy instruction. The product fit just fine and looks great.

Truck bed cover is great even after a year. No signs of fading or anything. Keeps it shape and works like it should. When I first got it I said to myself, hope it will last me at lease five years under our blazing sun here in Hawaii. And it seems it will. It also cleans up well, when I wash it's top, dirt wipes right off. The best part is, the cover makes my truck look great. Big Mahalo.

Your truck looks great, David! Love that color :)

I have had Access roll up covers on several of my trucks over the years and they hold up very well with proper care. My only criticism is that the directions are not written very well and lead to some confusion. Luckily for me, I installed a few of them in the past, but this could cause some frustration for someone installing one for the first time.

The first access tonneau cover I purchased from eTrailer in 2008 and I installed it on my 2007 Ridgeline. The cover held up well and I just replaced it with the same model (cover) this year. It fits perfectly. Good and timely shipping from eTrailer.

2012 Nissan Titan
I've been very pleased with the Access Roll up tonneau. The most important feature for me, was that it sat between the rails. I have a Trac Rack mounted on the bed rails, and the Access cover sits perfectly between. The added height of the cover, sits level with the top of the Trac rails. I have a bedslide in the truck, and the extra 1.5" of height from the Access is crucial. My truck is a 2012 Nissan titan. My only complaint, is that the vinyl cover is susceptible to rub marks. I'm a carpenter, and often I place material on top of the cover (while I'm picking up a tool, or staging something...). The vinyl has a few rashes on it. It would also be nice if there were an extra support beam. I have a short bed variant, and there's only 3 supports. I think a 4th and 5th would help add a little tension to keep the cover from flapping at high speed. I had a factory trifold tonneau (solid surface) that was very nice. For the price, this Access is the best option. I've had $300 tonneau on older trucks, and they were OK. The extra $200 for this cover... I must say it's worth every cent. Locking mechanism is great. Hardware is excellent. This is probably the best product for the money. The next step up, is twice the price...

After installation, the cover and its components appear to be a high quality product. It took me approximately 1 hour to install. The installation manual/process would benefit from having color pictures vice the black and white photos.

My cover has held up and worked well over the last year. I apply 303 Protectant about once a quarter keeping the cover looking new. I would buy this cover again finding it well worth the price for the quality of the product. I do have two minor comments that would improve the cover. First, the pull string used to release the rear latches feels flimsy for the amount of pressure required to unlatch the rear locks. Second, when I transport a small load e.g. push lawn mower secured at the tail gate of the truck I wish there was away to roll up the cover and secure it about 13 of the way and secure it so it doesn’t unroll and flap while driving. These are minor work arounds that don’t take away from the product.

I bought an access cover for my tacoma back in 2009 and it has worked great for 16 years so when it was time to get a cover for my 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD, I did not even look at other brands. This new Access cover was just as easy to install as I remember and it looks amazing.
by:
2011 Ford F-150
Roll-up cover installed easily. After 1 year outdoor exposure it still provides good weather protection for the bed. The cover material is taut, does not flap and the hook and loop material seals the sides well.

Nissan Titan
This is my second Access Original Tonneau.
That said...I like them! Here's why...
I have a bedslide in my truck with my toolboxes and trailer gear etc... The Access original sits 1.5" above the bed rails, and with the Bedside/Cargoglide the extra clearance is crucial, as all the slide out units eat up 2-4" of height inside the bed. The access cover lets you retain as much storage as possible. Other covers that sit flush, reduce usable cubic footage in your bed.
Here's what I would change:
While the vinyl cover is quite handsome, it marks up, (as all vinyl does). Something with a little more plastic like surface would be nice- snow would slide off easier, and when I place a piece of lumber on top, I don't have to worry about scratching the surface.
Speaking of weight on top, the Access has 3 support bars. I think having 5 would be perfect. They are easy enough to make and add.

Installation tip:
My current Nissan Titan (Gen 2) with the utilitrack system is a PERFECT match to the system. The access side rails sit right on top of the utilitracks, so they cant slide down.

My old Nissan Titan (gen 1) had standard bed rails, and relied on the clamps to hold the rails in place. Now, it's marketed as a no drill system- and as with all no-drill systems- you are at risk of having the clamps slip off. I've had 4 tonneaus from various manufactures, and this has been the case with all of them. I ended up drilling through, and using SS self tapping screws (4 on each side) to affix the rails to the truck. Super solid and easy, just make sure you drill high enough to capture the metal of the truck bed rail. But, if you have a little more patience than I do, the stock clamps will work fine, with some adjusting as you go.
by:
The roll up top is great. The convenience it offers is just what I was looking for. The installation instructions were pretty good. I would have liked better weather stripping to seal the tailgate.

by:
Great product. Third one I have had and they outlasted the vehicles. Easy to install and it looks good.

  • Will a Tonneau Cover From a Short Bed Chevy Truck fit a Short Bed Ford Truck.
Truck bed dimensions vary between brands. A short bed Chevy truck is going to have different dimensions than a short bed Ford truck. If you follow the link I attached and select the year/make/model of your Ford truck you will see the different tonneau covers that are confirmed to fit your vehicle.

  • Would BakFlip Tonneau Cover from Ford F-150 Fit 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 6.5 ft Bed
Tonneau cover fits are very specific. It's rare that a cover fits the same truck for more than a few years as the designs tend to change pretty frequently which means that there basically wouldn't be any cover from a Ford F-150 that would fit a 2015 Chevy Silverado 6-1/2 foot bed. For a BakFlip tonneau that fits your truck you'd instead want the part # BAK48121 which is a confirmed fit.

  • Will A 2012 Tonneau Cover Fit My 2016 Chevy Silverado?
Some tonneau covers will certainly fit both the 2012 and 2016 Silverado if they have the same size bed. For example, the Craftec Hatch-Style Tonneau Cover # 251138 fits both years as long as they have the 6-1/2 foot bed. I recommend going into our vehicle fit guide and enter in your 2012 Silverado information and find the cover that you have. Then you can enter in the 2016 Silverado to verify if that same cover shows up in the fit guide. Feel free to provide me with information on the bed...

  • Would Tonneau Cover from Dodge Dakota Fit 2011 GMC Sierra Short Bed
Tonneau cover fits are very specific. They typically only fit the same model and make of truck for a few years and require a new fit when there's a generation change. Also a Dakota is a mid sized truck and a Sierra is a full sized truck so one cover would not be able to fit both. For a similar Access tonneau cover to the one you referenced that does fit your 2011 GMC Sierra 6-1/2 foot bed you'd want the # A22020289.

  • Hard Tonneau Cover Compatible with 2003 Dodge Ram Short Bed
Tonneau Covers are vehicle specific fits, so the Access Roll-up # 834532000098 you asked from being a soft cover will not fit a short bed Dodge Ram. It will only fit a 1997-1999 Ford F-150 or F-250 with 8 foot bed and 2000-2004 Ford F-150 with 8 foot bed. For your 2003 Dodge Ram short bed, I've linked the page to all your hard tonneau options.

  • Would Tonneau Cover From 1985 Ford F-150 Fit 2002 Chevy Silverado
You'd need a new cover for the 2002 Chevy Silverado as a cover from a 1985 Ford F-150 would not fit the Chevy. It's rare for the same cover to fit the same truck for more than a few years as truck beds change quite a bit so between manufacturers and decades the fits are very different. Since I am not sure what length bed or payload your truck is the best I can offer you right now is a link on this page that has all of the covers we offer after you select your bed length and payload.
