Features to know about

Climbing Through Deep Snow Without Spinning: Twist Links Grip and Keep You Moving

When snow piles up or the road gets slick, the rounded twist links on these Titan Chain snow chains bite in and keep traction steady. They’re designed for deep snow but still give you some grip on ice, helping you keep traction when you need it most. The twist shape also smooths out your ride compared to harsher square or V-bar links, so you can push through heavy snow without a jarring feel.

Reliable Forward Pull on Steep Grades: Ladder Pattern Bites Into Packed Snow

Each set uses a ladder-style pattern that builds traction where it matters—straight ahead. That’s what helps when climbing steep, snow-covered grades or backing down icy driveways. The cross chains dig in as each section rolls under the tires, giving you a confident pull through deep or uneven snow.

No Loose Hardware to Worry About: Manual Setup Stays Locked In

These chains use a simple manual connection design without cams or levers that can come loose. Once you hook them in place, there’s no hardware to pop open when reversing or driving over rough snow. If you want an extra snug fit, you can add rubber adjusters (sold separately) to keep everything tight as you drive.

Built to Handle Harsh Winters: Low-Carbon Steel for Strength and Durability

Made of low-carbon steel, the links are tough enough for repeated winter use. The metal holds up well against wear from snow, slush, and gritty ice, so you can count on them season after season. Dry them after each trip to keep them in good shape and ready for the next storm.

Sized for Big Tires and Heavy Conditions: Fits 20"–22-1/2" Tires

Each pair fits tire diameters from 20" up to 22-1/2" and uses 7.1 mm (0.281")-thick links for solid traction and durability. Designed for deep snow and mud, these chains give you a dependable edge when winter driving gets tough.

Installing Snow Chains

Step 1 of Titan Chain snow tire chain installation showing chains laid out flat on the ground to remove twists and kinks before draping over the tire.

Step 2 of Titan Chain snow tire chain installation showing chains being draped over the tire with prongs facing outward away from the sidewall.

Step 3 of Titan Chain snow tire chain installation showing user connecting and tightening the chain ends behind the tire.

Step 4 of Titan Chain snow tire chain installation showing front side of tire with chain hooked and secured using the lever clamp.

Step 5 of Titan Chain snow tire chain installation showing optional rubber tensioners attached to keep chains tight and evenly fitted on the tire.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Product arrived as promised. Titan chains are just what we needed. We won't be using these until October/November here in the high country so a little too early to provide a review on the quality.

etrailer Rocks!

by:

I bought tire chains for the new Chevy truck that I just bought. I purchased the chains for piece of mind, just in case I ever needed to continue down the muddy/snowy road. To this date, I have only installed the chains once. While in the garage to make sure they fit.

by:

Yesterday was the second time I've used my chains. Half of the rungs broke on one side on one of the chains. Today (third time using them), one rung broke on the other chain. The first time I used them (last year) they held up very well for the most part. They were very easy to put on. The only problem I had at that time was that the triangle shaped piece (that holds the swan shaped connector in place) bends very easily and can't be disconnected after that.

Great chains perfect fit on my 2018 f-150. Super fast delivery . Just a dry fit to make sure before hunting season.

by:

My order of tire chains came quickly and the quality is good. Thank you,
Mark

I needed these chains for upcoming ski trip just in case for my van. I ordered basic chains because of clearance concerns. Etrailer selection on chains and most other items is extensive. I have ordered many items with Etrailer before and always enjoy great customer service, useful installation and use videos, and quality products. Their new product line of camper/RV parts and accessories is almost overwhelming with so much selection. Etrailer has very competitive prices and coupled with qualifying free shipping--can't be beat. I was immediately notified by Erica that my order was not in their warehouse, however it was expected to arrive in plenty of time and Erica provided information and alternative solutions along the way. Very satisfied with Etrailer, their products, and their pricing.

by:

I really appreciate the great service and really fast delivery. My go to for my trailer parts and chains.

by:

We had previously purchased chains from etrailer that worked great, but we upsized the wheels/tires of the plow truck and needed larger chains. So we bought these chains and used them to enlarge the four previous chains. The new ones did exactly what we wanted them to do! I have always had great success ordering from etrailer and highly recommend your company. Great service and great value!!

by:

They got me through the biggest Nov storm in 50 yrs here in Big Bear Lake, CA.

by:

Not yet installed, they are packaged well and are the correct size for a Tacoma T265/70-16). I placed my order. I got a confirmation email that also advised that I would be notified when the item shipped. The package showed up in the mailbox but I never got the shipping email or tracking number.

by:

work good but fell off due to link becoming straight.

by:

Fantastic customer service. Ordered on a Friday afternoon, received by Tuesday, left to a snowy camp on Thursday. Chains did not list my tire size on the bag but included them on the website. Tried the sizing before I left home and they fit perfectly. Received almost 2 feet of snow and chained the fronts and backs in order to pull a 30' trailer up a nasty forest road. Chains were easy to put on and worked like a dream. Totally recommended, especially for the price.

by:

Still in the bag, in the truck. Don’t think I will need them this year. Strange weather in the west…

by:

Great product, thanks for the service and follow up. I should have bought the tensioner

by:

I haven't used the chains yet but a plastic box to store them in would have been a plus.
Customer service was excellent. Quick response to the order, quick shipping, and a follow-up email was received right after delivey.

by:

These chains worked perfectly . Used them on my Tacoma and was able to drive some snow and ice covered non-plowed state forest roads without issue. They were easy to install and remove.

by:

Fit like a charm. Very durable, obviously heavy duty. Makes me feel much more confident than using some of the newer chain designs. Those of you ordering a set of chains like this for the first time don’t forget to order chain tighteners.

by:

These chains are amazing! I use them on a 12 passenger van and they install very quickly and easily. I have driven on unplowed roads with 2' snow drifts and have hauled trailers through muddy fields without getting stuck. I highly recommend them.

by:

Chains are what I need perfect, but blue rubber tensioners broke first time putting on,

by:

I used these on a 2wd open diff F150 with a camper. The traction difference is amazing! I never lost traction! If you’re on a pass that warns “chains or AWD”, don’t go without chains or off road tires. I puttered along at 30 in the unplowed lane watching a clown in an AWD BMW slide everywhere in the plowed slush, holding up traffic.
Anyway, the chains themselves. I’ve used diamond pattern chains with a cable on the inside and fancy nonsense on the outside before. The cable always collects snow, and the multiple connections on the outside is confusing. These ladder chains were easy and simple to put on and take off. I used tensioner bungees also. You will get a bumpy ride, but it smooths out as you speed up. Anyone that claims ladder chains don’t have lateral grip hasn’t used them and doesn’t understand the physics of why chains help.
Great for going up a pass periodically, but not something I’d use daily.

Super fast delivery. Excellent product!!

by:

Needed these chains for a snowboarding trio this December. Installed them in my yard to make sure they fit, and figure out which link worked best. Now that i know what link to use, next time it should only take sbout 10 min to put them on. I really like how they stay away from my wheels so should not scrstch them. My yard was very soft from recent rain and you can see how well the chains dig into the mud. Should be really good on snow/ice.

by:

1/15/2024 I couldn’t go up my property, so on 1/17 I ordered this chain with the TCMA2 Rubber chain hook. On 1/22 I tried it was a beautiful climb, and decent, my driveway has a 17 degree slope. I try again next day with a glance of ice, NO Problem! A year later, same success! Love to have the right tool.

by:

The chains look very sturdy. I would give them 5 stars if someone can tell me why some of the crossover connections twist the circumference chain links 90 degrees. See my pictures.
