The V-bar studs on each cross chain of these heavy-duty, twist-link snow chains bite into frozen roads to give you excellent traction in extreme winter weather conditions and in boggy off-road areas. No cams or levers to come loose in rough terrain.

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.
These chains are outstanding in serious winter weather conditions because the V-bar studs can bust through intense ice and packed snow. So, you'll be able to get to work and back home again even in the toughest weather. You can also use them if you ever go off-roading and end up in a mud-digging situation. These chains are going to help give your vehicle purchase to pull out and keep moving.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Drape the chain over the tire, ensuring that the V-bar studs face away from the tire.
3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire.
4. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chain tension. Tighten the chain as needed by moving the hook to the next link.
If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to help give you a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at our Titan Chain twist link tire chains with V bars, right here on our 2019 Kia Sorento. So if you're expecting a lot of ice, but also a lot of snow, then you're gonna need some extra tire traction. And these tire chains will help you with that. So these are gonna be good for those extreme icy situations but they also might be a bit too aggressive for your mild extreme situations, which means just a little bit of snow and some ice. If that's the case, we also have some more low profile options.
You may want to check out something like the Pewag Brenta C instead. But, if you want that extreme traction, we'll take a look at these. These are your traditional ladder style chains, which makes it very simple and easy to replace links if that ever happens to you. And they use a combination of twist links and V bar studs. So twist links are good for snow, because they don't clump up as much on that twisty link.
But then for your extreme ice, the V bars are there to bite into the ice and give you that traction still. The links are made of a low carbon steel. So, there's different materials that are used to make tire chain links. And, if you want something that lasts multiple seasons you would get a manganese nickel alloy or a titanium alloy. If you're just using this once or twice, and you're not storing it for a long period of time, the low carbon steel is gonna be good for durability.
So it's gonna help out when it bites into the snow and the ice. But, if you're gonna be using this multiple years just double check and make sure it still looks good before putting it on. So your Kia Sorento has different tire sizes. So if you're not sure what you have, it's printed on the side wall. Ours is 235, 65, R17.
So with that tire size, very important, because then you can use our fit guide here at etrailer to find the right fit for you. This specific tire is a little tricky with tire chain sizes, where they fit a little tight or a little loose. This is gonna be on your slightly tighter side. So definitely pick up this tensioner as well, to make sure that tension is maintained all throughout. So I mentioned it's good for one season. And you can tell by the bag that this comes with. It's gonna be a canvas bag, where it actually is pretty easy to put the chains back in after use, although you are gonna need maybe a zip tie or a rubber band to secure that top. This, though, makes it easy to store inside your garage or inside your trunk. If you're traveling through an area that requires you keep tire chains in your vehicle at all times, this is the way you're gonna do it. So I've installed several tire chains on the Kia Sorento and my personal thoughts about this one is, in terms of install, it's gonna be a bit of a tighter fit. Definitely doable, and I'll show you in a second. In terms of use, this is gonna be good for the extremely icy or extremely snowy situations. If you have limited clearance in the back, I do recommend taking a look at our more low profile styles. Also, this involves crawling behind your tire, which can be a tight fit. So I did mention the Pewag Brenta C 4 x 4 chains as an option or alternative to these. But if you're curious about that install process, let's take a look at that. What I recommend doing is pretty much the moment you get your tire chains, lay them out in your garage and just double check. Just make sure everything looks good and get familiar with the process of installing your tire chains. That way you know what to do before you're stranded by the side of the road. You also wanna make sure that it's facing the right way. So see how this has a hook and then it has a flat part You want the flat part pace facing your tire, and the hook away from your tire. Once everything looks good, then let's get this installed. And there's different methods for installing tire chains. This is the method I use, when the car is parked or stationary. That way it's easier to practice inside your garage. So get this up and go over your tires. And then try to have an equal length of chain on each side, so a little short here. We're gonna shift it over to the other side. Make your first connection in the back, get that in that one link over. And back to the front to make the front connection. Now here in the front we're gonna get a link and feed that link through the lever. Bring that all the way in. And then you're just gonna rotate this lever to get tension in the chain. You might want to move over to the second lever. I think the first is fine, 'cause once we have that secured, we can then use a rubber tensioner. So these are the Titan Chain rubber tensioners. They're not included with your entire chains, but I highly recommend picking some up. Just because they'll help to pull in those chains. Plus, no matter how tight you get your chains, the first go, when you hit ice and rocks and snow, they are going to adjust. So this will adjust with your chains. So that takes a little bit of effort, but now we have it pretty evenly distributed on the tire chains. Now do this exact same process over on your passenger side tire. Afterwards, I recommend rolling forward or backward a couple feet and then double checking that everything is still in place. If it is, then that's it. You're good to hit the road. And that was a look at our Titan Chain snow tire chains with twist links and V bar studs, here on our 2019 Kia Sorento..
