Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer. And if you've been looking for a compact, high capacity ladder that you could take with you on your adventures in your motor home, or in your camper, then let me introduce you to the Telesteps telescoping ladder. So there's all sorts of reasons that you could use a ladder like this when you have a motor home or a larger camper like this. Getting roof access for, you know, any kind of cleaning or inspection of anything on the roof. Maybe you're going to be working on some of your accessories like your awning or your reverse cameras or something like that. Or you just need to get that general inspection done of the air conditioner, fan, anything else that might be up here.
Sometimes you have a camper or RV that doesn't have a ladder in the back. And quite frankly, those aren't the easiest to get up and down anyway. Something like this can come in very, very handy for you. And sometimes you need a ladder to actually get to your ladder, which is no fun at all. So the best feature is it's just really, really easy to set up.
Being a telescoping ladder, all I want to do is kind of get my foot on the base here, and I'm just going to start pulling it up and holding it by the rungs as I bring it up. Now, one of the cool things is there are indicators on here. Might be tough to see in the sun, but there are indicators on here that'll start out red when they're not locked into position. When a rung locks into position, it'll turn green. So that's a good way to determine.
Just make sure, basically, that all of your steps are locked in. Once you've assured that, you can open it up, lock in these fulcrums, pushing them up, and now the ladder is ready to go. So what you're going to get when it's fully extended is eight feet of height on the ladder. And you can get all the way up here to this step right here, and give you roughly about 12 feet total of reach. So on this particular travel trailer, I'm going to about waist high with the rooftop.
That's going to allow me to reach over and get to just about anything I need to. We've also got these extra rungs that make great handholds for balance, but also something that you can lean on a little bit, just makes you feel a little bit safer while you're up here. Each of these rungs is going to be 13 inches across, and they're going to be 3 3/8 inch deep, making it really easy to get up and down safely. And this doesn't just have to be for the RV or a camper. If you're somebody that works in maintenance or any of the trades, this ladder is made out of Kevlar, so it's non-conductive. This is the perfect ladder to use if you're an electrician, HVAC technician, anybody that's going to have to be working with some electrical while up on a ladder. This is going to be great for you. Not only that, painters and carpenters are going to make good use of it as well, because we have an offset position to use with stairs. When you need to use it on stairs and have it be offset, this block right here detaches really easily from whatever rung you're storing it on, generally the bottom, so it doesn't stop any of this from collapsing any further. But once you get it on there, usually what you want to do is just figure out how many steps you need to offset. And generally speaking, one rung up usually equals one step in height. Of course, all stairs are different. So you want to set it up and kind of test it out. But just that easily, I'm going to be able to work on a light fixture that's above the stairs, do some painting or whatever it is that I need to get up there for. And on top of all that, this is going to collapse down really, really compact. So in order to do that, first thing we want to do is push down on our fulcrums and release those. We're going to bring the ladder in together just like this. And then what you're going to want to do is make sure you're holding it by one of the side panels here, not by the rung. We want to avoid any finger pinching. I'm going to come down here and I'm going to give a pinch to this clasp here and then this one back here. That's going to release our ladder, and we're going to be able to walk it all the way down to its compact height. So when it's folded down like this, you're going to end up with a total height of only 31 inches. Your stabilizers are going to be 29 1/4 inches across. So if you have a motor home, class A or class C, this should be something that you could fit in the storage underneath it. Of course, if you're somebody in the trades and you've got a van or truck, something like this in the back might be easier than carrying six ladders on a rack or hanging on the outside of the van. So you're also going to get this strap to help carry it. And that's going to be attached by hook and loop. All you need to do is wrap it around and attach it. And you're able to carry it either over your shoulder, if you got some extra tools or anything, or just simply by hand. But this is going to be really, really easy to store and carry. And if you're a contractor, what would you rather be walking up and down stairs and in and out of doors with This or this So there you have it. Compact design, a generous 375 pound weight capacity, heavy duty durability, and non-conductive for anybody working in the trades with electrical. That's the Telesteps telescoping ladder. A little heavy, for an RV, but sturdy, and that is what I am looking for. I don't personally like the lock out system for different heights. I think it is a little cumbersome when trying to collapse it.

I've found this ladder to be very functional and fairly easy to carry along with me in my Motor Home. It's a bit heavy for an old guy but not bad. The carry strap is very durable and makes it easy to move around when folded. Easy to set up/take down, and sturdy when extended. I really like the extended section as it gives you a feeling of security when up high on it.
One of the best ladders I have. Easy to move into place. Inherently safe with its broad base and wide bottom rung. Can take it anywhere fast as it fits in the back oh my Jeep with no ropes and tie downs.

VERY sturdy product! Heavier than expected but with rating of 375lbs, it is very strong. Biggest problem for me is that you have to fully extend it to 10'for it to work. The way it was shown, I thought it was partially extendable up to 10'. I cannot use it in my 9' RV Ceilings. It will not serve my needs as an Interior/Exterior Utility Ladder. Anyone want to buy one?
This is replacement ladder for one I bought a few years back that was damaged due to misuse. This ladder, while a few pounds heavier, is much better built and overall is quite sturdy. After applying a little silicone spray to the legs it extended/retracted as designed right out of the box. Once extended it is very stable and has a solid feel. It will live in my RV where the extend/retract feature is a great space saver.
Take it camping to make sure the slide outs are clear of debris. Heavy duty, and very stable
After using a 7’ Telesteps folding ladder for about 17 years I felt I needed something a little more stable, so after trying out a friends A-frame ladder I ordered one 8’ models. Still stores easily in basement of our class A coach, but more stable and has wider steps which is what I needed. I even found a used 6’ model that I acquired too.
