When you’re towing long distances or carrying heavy gear, this steel wheel is ready for the job. The Dexstar 16" x 6" rim is rated for 3,050 lbs at 90 psi and meets Department of Transportation standards. The 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and 1/2"-20 wheel bolts provide a solid, consistent connection for confident highway use without compromise on strength or safety.
Corrosion can ruin a wheel in no time if it’s not protected. This one uses a two-step defense—a tough e-coat primer topped with a white powder coat finish—that seals out moisture and road salt. It’s the kind of finish that stays looking clean while guarding against rust year after year.
Too much offset can throw off balance and put extra stress on your bearings. The Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel keeps things centered with a 0 offset, so the mounting surface sits right in line with the wheel’s center plane. That equalizes load across the hub for steadier tracking and smoother towing over long stretches of road.
Finding parts that fit right shouldn’t be complicated. This wheel uses the popular 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern with a 4.27" pilot diameter and fits standard valve stems like part # AM20906. Pair it with compatible trailer tires—such as ST235/85R16 radials—for dependable performance that holds up to real-world hauling demands.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

A quality trailer rim. My trailer came with 15 inch wheels an so i was limited to a low rating for weight capacity. These rims were cheap yet true and a good weight rating.

Product is working Great after a year of heavy use.
Perfect upgrade to the 15" tires on my 5th wheel. Now I have a large selection for tires. I ordered valves stems too, but the wrong size (hole size). Probably my fault, but it would have been nice to be warned about the size difference. No big deal - valve stems are located all over, but the deal on these wheels are not. Thanks!

We offer a metal valve stem as part # AM20906, which Id recommend instead of the rubber valve stems.
After careful consideration I purchased 5 16x6 Dexstar wheels for my enclosed car trailer. While installing the tires you could clearly SEE on the spin balancer that 2 of the rims "not tires" were out of round and required additional weight 3.75/2.25 to bring them into balance which is more than normal. I am uncertain of the factory tolerance however I would not recommend these wheels to a friend. If I had more time I would return. This was the reason I wanted to by wheels made in the USA and not ones made across the pond.
As advertised, great price, quick free delivery for the 4 wheels. Converted my Arctic Fox Silver Edition from 15 inch to 16 inch LT225/75R16 E rated tires. Note, ST tires are not rated for more then 65 MPH. Most of us tow at that speed all day long and occasionally faster, risky with ST rated tires.
I recently discovered etrailer while searching for a specific steel spoke trailer wheel. These rims are perfect for my project... not a trailer, but a 1978 Toyota LandCruiser FJ40. They have the perfect 70s spoke look that is period correct for the ride. I didn't have any trouble getting tires (E-Rated) mounted or balanced at the big tire chain. I've put nearly 3000 miles on them already with no issues. I chose these because they had the correct backspacing and bolt pattern for the application, no interference in the front on full wheel lock, left or right. The USA made quality is certainly there; the powder-coating was just as uniform through the center of the wheel (not seen when the tire is mounted)as it is on the outside surfaces, unlike some foreign made stuff I saw at local trailer stores. Highly recommend, even though most of you reading this need it for a trailer. I tried uploading a picture, but it just says "was unsucccessful to upload".
When we installed them they look ed good. Have not heard of any problem from the customer.
It's a great rim that matches my other spare. The paint looks very durable and should last a very long time.

I put these on an old 2 wheel trailer to hold my portable welder. They’re doing the job well. Make the whole thing look better too!
