This aluminum wheel is made to handle real-world hauling without worry. With a load rating of 2,200 lbs and a 14" x 5-1/2" rim size, it’s ready for serious weight and steady performance. It meets DOT specifications, so it’s built for reliability mile after mile.
Corrosion doesn’t stand a chance. The rustproof aluminum build stays solid and true even in wet or humid conditions, while the black machined finish gives it a clean, modern look. A clear coat on both sides protects against scuffs and scratches so it keeps looking good over time.
You don’t have to worry about the lug holes wearing down or needing constant checks. Steel inserts in the lug nut wells keep things tight and secure on the hub, eliminating the need for constant retightening. It’s a smart bit of design that keeps maintenance simple.
Getting the right fit is straightforward. This wheel uses a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and a 3.19" pilot diameter with a 0 offset, designed for use with 1/2"-20 wheel bolts. Once mounted, torque the lug nuts between 75 and 85 ft-lb for a solid, balanced setup that feels right on the road.
The open-spoke design keeps weight down without sacrificing strength, making it easier to handle while still standing up to long-term use. Backed by a 2-year limited warranty, this wheel is built to deliver dependable performance season after season.

1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Americana 14 inch by 5 1/2 inch AM03 series black machined aluminum trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this aluminum wheel, it's durable, lightweight, and rust proof. This one is the AM03 series wheel, which as you can see has a five open spoke design in a nice black finish. If you notice around the open spokes, they do have the machined silver face on the spokes. Provides a nice, bold, sleek look.
The black finish you can see is a glossy finish. Now, they do use the clear coating on the front and the back of the wheel to protect the finish. A few dimensions on this I'm gonna give you is the diameter on this wheel is gonna be 14 inches, and a diameter on the wheel is always measured inside to inside. So if I get my tape measure here, and we put a rule on that, you can see there is your 14 inch diameter. The width on this wheel is 5 1/2 inches, and that's to measure the width is the same way, it's inside the inside or bead seat to bead seat.
There's your 5 1/2 inch wide wheel. Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure which bolt pattern you have, if it's an odd number of lugs, like in this one five lugs, it's a little bit harder because the wheel holes or lug holes are not directly across from each other. So the way to measure it on an odd number of lugs like this one, is you just pick any hole, let's say this hole, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure it, you wanna measure from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you go to.
So on this one, if we go from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge here, it's gonna measure 4 1/2 inches. So that means this has a 5 on 4/12 bolt pattern. Now, the wheel lug size that this uses is 1/2 inch by 20. Weight capacity on this wheel is gonna be 2,200 pounds. Now, one thing I like about this wheel is they do use the steel inserts in these lug nut wells.
And what's nice about that is those inserts help keep your wheel securely in place on the trailer hub. They help prevent the holes from elongating or wearing down, and they eliminate the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, if you notice the center cap is not included. The center cap is sold separately. If you do want one, you do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole right here. On this wheel, it's 3.19 inches. This wheel does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications and the SAE J2530 standards. But that should do it for the review on the Americana 14 inch by 5 1/2 inch AM03 series black machined aluminum trailer wheel.

etrailer was great! I called them to ask several questions about the rims I wanted to purchase, I wanted to make sure they would work with my hubs and tires on my trailer. They answered all my questions and I had the rims in a few days and they fit perfect. The price was great as well.
Nice fit…

Sorry to hear that, John. I know this may not be what you want to hear, but trailer tires are almost never balanced in the traditional way as having perfectly balanced tires is not as important with trailer tires as it is with a passenger vehicle. Have you thought about not balancing them? You could also use thee Counteract Tire Balancing Beads Single Pack for Trailers - 4 oz # CA66VR (one per tire) if you wanted to balance them in a less conventional way.
