Today we're going to be taking a look at part number C83760, this is the Curt Heavy Duty D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor. The heavy duty steel D-ring is going to create a stable tie-down point in your trailer or truck bed. It's going to provide that attachment point that you need for securing loads, straps, hooks, bungees. It's a very versatile system. This piece right here is going to be your weld-on piece. This is a weld-in installation.
Your mounting bracket is included. Everything is going to be made from a forged steel construction, it's going to have a really nice raw steel finish on it. When it comes to the maximum load or break strength, that's going to be 26,500 pounds for this unit. We're going to take a look at the dimensions here of the ring. We take a measurement from outer edge to outer edge going this direction.
Looking at about 4 1/2 inches. Going this direction, outer edge to outer edge, that's going to give us an overall width of about 4 1/2 inches as well. The thickness on the ring, is going to measure 3/4 of an inch. Again, solid steel. When it comes to the opening, it's going to give us about 3 inches that direction, and about 3 inches that direction as well. The backing dimensions, again, this is going to be the piece that gets welded on.
Measuring this direction, that's going to give us a direction of about 2 1/4 of an inch. This direction it's going to be about 1 5/8 of an inch. Take a measure from top to bottom, that's going to be about 1 1/4 inch, excuse me about 1 3/4 of an inch. This piece we get welded on, the D-ring would be in there. You can see that if you need to use it, you just flip it up.
The thickness of this, is going to measure about 3/8 of an inch of steel thickness on the bracket here. When it's not being used, it could lay to either side of the bracket. That way it's not going to take up much space on your application when you're not using the tie-down anchor. That's going to do it though for today's review of part number C83760, this is the Curt Heavy Duty D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor. .
