Bumpy roads don’t have to mean a rough trip. This Dexter 5-leaf slipper spring flexes to absorb road shock and vibration, keeping your trailer riding level and steady even over uneven ground. With five stacked leaves and a 5,000-lb spring capacity (for a 10,000-lb axle), it keeps the ride smoother while reducing wear on the frame and components.
Hauling weight calls for serious suspension hardware. This spring is built from sturdy steel with a 2-1/2" width and 7/16" leaf thickness, giving it the strength to handle demanding loads. It holds your axle securely in place while still flexing enough to cushion heavy cargo on every trip.
The front eye comes fitted with a bronze bushing that’s ready for a 7/8" bolt. Bronze stands up to friction better than nylon, helping the spring move smoothly without binding or squeaking. It’s a solid setup that stays tight and lasts longer through miles of towing.
At 30-1/2" from the center of the eye to the end of the spring (unloaded), this replacement fits cleanly into standard hanger or equalizer setups. The slipper end slides into place so everything lines up correctly, keeping the axle centered and the trailer tracking true.
For best alignment and handling, replace both springs together. Over time, old springs can sag or stretch, throwing your suspension geometry off. Matching new springs on both sides restores balance so your trailer stays level and tows predictably.

Hello everybody This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we'll take a look at this Dexter 30 and a half inch long, five leaf slipper spring with the flat end for 10,000 pound trailer axles. Now this slipper leaf spring will act as part of your trailer suspension systems. It provides the attachment point for your trailer's axle and it uses multiple leaves to allow flexibility to absorb road shock. Number of leaves they use is five on this spring. It does allow for a nice smooth ride to reduce wear and tear on your trailer at and it ensures level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces.
Now to install this spring, it does require pre mounted hangers or an aftermarket hanger kit for installation. Those items we do sell separately on our website. Basically the eye of the spring right here attaches to a hanger that's mounted on your trailer frame and the slipper end right here. This will slide into your hanger or equalizer. This is a sturdy steel construction.
Now this one does include the bronze bushing on the spring eye end here. The eye diameter with that bushing in it is seven eighths of an inch. A few specs on this, the quantity is for one leaf spring. The spring capacity on this is 5,000 pounds for this spring and it fits on axle capacities of 10,000 pounds. Now I do wanna give you a few measurements on the spring, few of the critical measurements.
The first one is the length of the spring, and that's always measured from the center of the eye to the end of the spring. That'll get you the total length. From the center to the end is right at 30 and a half inches long. And then the axle location measurement is gonna be, the axle will be mounted right here at the middle of the spring, so the actual location measurement was going to be from the center of the eye to the center of the spring. So if we do that is 13 and a half inches and the width on the spring is two and a half inches.
That should do it for the review on this Dexter, 30 and a half inch long, five leaf slipper spring with the flat end for 10,000 pound trailer axles..
