Older incandescent trailer lights can fade or burn out quickly, leaving you guessing if your signal is even visible. This HyperX LED trailer light uses 12 bright LEDs behind an amber lens to deliver a strong, even output for both turn and parking functions. It draws just 0.214 amps for the turn signal and 0.13 amps for the parking light at 12.8V, so it stays bright while keeping power use low. That’s dependable visibility with minimal draw on your electrical system.
Water can ruin a trailer light fast, but this sealed LED design keeps moisture out completely. The polycarbonate lens and housing are built as a single waterproof unit, which makes it ideal for use on boat trailers or anywhere exposure to water is a concern. No condensation, no corrosion—just steady light every time you hook up and go.
Getting a snug fit and a solid connection matters when wiring trailer lights. This oval 6-7/16" x 2-5/16" x 1-3/4" light mounts neatly in a cutout using a grommet (A70GB, sold separately) for a clean recessed look that protects it from bumps. It connects through a standard PL-3 plug, which works with either straight (A45PB) or right-angle (A47PB) pigtails—both sold separately—for quick, plug-and-play wiring that’s easy to service later.

Rough roads and constant vibration can wear out lesser lights, but this assembly is made from tough polycarbonate that resists cracking and impact damage. The LEDs are sealed inside for long life and come backed by a lifetime warranty, so you can count on consistent performance trip after trip without worrying about bulb changes or housing failures.
Meeting safety standards isn’t optional when it comes to trailer lighting. This amber HyperX LED light is DOT compliant, giving you confidence that it meets visibility requirements for turn and parking functions while keeping your setup road-legal and clearly seen in any conditions.

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Optronics HyperX Amber LED Side Marker and Parking Light. Today we're gonna be installing the light on this flatbed Big Tex trailer. Now, this one, if you come in closer, you can see it's gonna have 12 diodes. It's gonna have an RD amber lens on it with some texture on there as well to help reflection. It's gonna fit right in here where the old one was.
It is DOT compliant and can be submerged in water, so even if you're not putting it on a flatbed like this, maybe put on a boat trailer, it's gonna be just fine. Just gonna connect it in right where we remove the last one. It's got the three prong connector, just plugs into the back. Just push it into place and then we'll push the light into the grommet. There you go.
With the lights on, well, it's taillight mode right now, we're gonna switch it to brake lights and then the turn signal. That light's gonna measure six and 7/16ths by two and 5/16ths, so just go out and measure your trailer lights to make sure they're gonna fit. You have options when it comes to side marker lights. We have one here that has more of a clear front, so there's not gonna be any texture or patterns on there. Still tinted amber, with the mirror background, it's gonna make this one a little bit brighter and stand out.
Then we have this one that has this part that protrudes or it's almost a 3D light, so it sticks out a little bit further from the side of the trailer, making it easier for everyone to see. And then we have the incandescent. These on your trailer, we usually recommend replacing with the LEDs. They still work, so this is what the rest of your trailer has, and you don't wanna replace all those lights, and you still get one of these. It's just not gonna last as long or be as bright of any of the LEDs here.
Overall, I think it's gonna be an upgrade for your trailer. The LEDs really do stand out, plus they last way longer, so you won't have to replace 'em for a long time. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. Hope this helps.
