Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Bulldog round pipe-mounted swivel jack, with a top line. Now this is a pretty heavy duty jack. And in fact, it really comes down to the weight ratings that it's capable of. So at max capacity, you have a static of 7,000 pounds, so it's gonna hold quite a bit. And you also have that same lifting capacity at 7,000.
So overall for a trailer like this, it should work plenty. You're gonna have plenty of room to go, and if you have even larger trailer this might also work for you as well, so it's important to check the weight of your trailer before picking a jack. Now it does have 10 inches of lift, so it's gonna give you a decent amount of range as far as raising and lowering your trailer. In fact, the 10 inches range here, this is fully extended, and it's gonna be about 20 and three quarters. And when it's fully retracted, you're gonna be sitting right at about 10 and three quarters, so a decent amount of raise and lift there, but again, you're gonna wanna make sure that you match it to the height of the frame of your trailer.
Now, I really like top line jacks. The side ones, it feels like you're just having to move your whole body to crank it. Whereas your top line, you can just stand here and wind this. Now, the radius here is gonna be a little bit over nine inches, so it's important to make sure that you have clearances, and also make room for your hand as well, that way you're not busting your knuckles when raising and lowering. Now, our trailer already had a pipe mount attached, so this was easy to just put in place and drop our pin in and it was ready to go.
But if you don't have one already on your trailer, then that's not a problem. It's actually gonna come with this pipe mount here. That way you can weld it on to your trailer wherever you want. Now this slips over the outside here, but it's also gonna work with those two inch outside diameter pipe mounts, so just measure if you do have an existing one to make sure that it's gonna match up. I think the pipe mount jacks really have a lot of benefits as opposed to some of your standard jacks, and partly because, when you have to get ready to tow, you're gonna want to crank the jack all the way up to give you that ground clearance, and they always still hang a little bit low, which I worry sometimes while driving that it's gonna make contact with any road debris, or if I hit a big bump or something like that, I'm always kind of worried that the jack's gonna get damaged.
Well, great part about the pipe jack is you can see I'm pretty close to right at the ground already, I haven't had to crank it up much, and I can just pull the pin, put this in a stowed position, and we're gonna gain all that ground clearance. And also the handle here can still to a nice compact shape. So you can see the amount of room we have here, and it just kind of opens it up in general. So it really stores well, and I think that's the main benefit, but also, when you are ready to park your trailer and you need to put your jack back in place, you shouldn't have to crank it up too much, especially if you're using the same truck and trailer combo and the height's gonna be about the same. You can see we're already pretty close to the ground. So that's gonna take a lot of that winding time and effort away, and make it nice and easy for you. Now aesthetically, this is also a pretty good looking jack. With the gray powder coat here, and that's twofold, not only to give it a nice aesthetic look, but also it's gonna protect from rust and corrosion long term. And some of the exposed metal that you see here is zinc-coated, so that's again gonna give you that added protection and that way if you park your trailer outside, it can be out in the weather and it's not gonna start building up. It's gonna maintain the lifespan of that jack. Now you'll also see that our foot plate here, this is zinc-coated, is one piece welded, so you don't have to worry about an extra foot plate and a pin here. And a lot of times going down the road, those will jostle around and just make more noise than you need. And having one piece, all in one, makes it just a little more simple, and that way it'll be ready to use whenever you are. And that was a look at the Bulldog round pipe-mounted swivel jack with a top line..
