Most covers make you choose between reaching gear at the cab or getting full bed access, but this one gives you both. The Deuce 2 opens from either end—fold back the front 30" section to grab tools or a cooler near the cab, or roll up the whole thing with its bows and secure it behind the cab using the built-in Velcro straps. You can go from covered to open in seconds without removing the cover entirely.
Temperature swings can make most vinyl covers loosen or shrink, but this one stays smooth all year thanks to its automatic tension system with “floating hook” technology. The Velcro fastening moves freely along the rails to keep the fabric tight without rubbing or stretching. That means no sagging in summer heat and no stiff spots in winter cold—just a clean, flat look every time.
The cover is made from vinyl-coated, leather-grain fabric that stands up to UV rays, rain, and snow. It won’t shrink in cold weather, and the black powder-coated aluminum bows and rails stay rust-free. The hinge design prevents creasing when the front section folds back, so the cover keeps its shape and finish even after years of use.
Dust, rain, and road spray stay out thanks to rubber seals at the front, rear, and along the sides. They work together to block moisture and debris, keeping the truck bed clean and cargo protected in all kinds of weather.
Installing the Deuce 2 doesn’t require drilling or special tools. The angled side rails clamp securely inside the bed rails, and a header guide helps align everything. Once it’s on, it sits just 3/4" above the rails for a low-profile look that still leaves stake-pocket mounts free for other accessories.
You cannot drive around with only the front section open.

Andy: Hello everyone. I'm Andy and today we're going to take a look at the TruXedo Deuce 2 Soft Tonneau Cover here at etrailer.com. If you're a truck owner and you're looking for an easy installed, very versatile tonneau cover, this would be a great choice for you. Now let's take a look at the vinyl cover that we have on this tonneau cover. As you can see, it is a very durable, very sturdy. There are two support bars that run throughout.
Now we don't recommend sitting or standing on the top of this. It is strictly to protect any type of valuable equipment or a toolbox let's say that you might have in your truck bed. So now we're going to take a look at some of those features. We will let down our tailgate and there is a latch located here that will relieve the back portion here. And from there, we can go ahead and roll up the cover all the way to our bed here.Having these support bars is nice because it keeps the rest of the cover stable when you are folding it.
And also now you can see, I have plenty of room. If I was hauling any type of longer items furniture, wood, whatever it be, you have plenty of room and this rolls up nicely. There are straps here as well to secure that from moving as you're driving. The finish on the rail system is a nice and high quality. It will hold up for a long time.
The durability of it, it's very sturdy. And as you can see here, this is our hinge point whenever it comes to having the fold-up option, just be aware whenever you are folding it up or you're rolling the tonneau cover back into the flat position, then nothing is obstructing that in order to get in the way if you we're to access with it folded up.And if you do not have the provided track system from the factory, these same clamps will work when it comes to mounting the rails on your truck. With the tonneau cover in the rolled up position here, you can see where there is the mounting point to access the flip-up option. There is a lever on the backside of the cover closest to the window. And whenever you move that you'll see that it pivots and that will allow you to fold up the cover and access the back portion of the bed here.
Now, if you we're going to access the locking mechanism to prevent the levers from moving, if somebody was to try and access this back portion, you would want to do so with the tonneau cover rolled up. That'll allow you to make that adjustment to the lock knob.Now to access this back portion and fold it up if you happen to have a toolbox or anything, you're going to move the latches that are near the window towards the passenger side. And from there, you can lift up and then fold the cover back. Now you have all this space and room here, whether it's a toolbox or any other type of equipment, you're able to get that in and out of the bed. Now with it in the folded position, here is something I wouldn't recommend when you are driving down the road, you have the possibility for the cover to get pulled off, might cause some damage to your vehicle or to other vehicles as well. The nice thing about this cover is having this seal here to protect anything from the elements that will be in the bed. Also, it does come with a impact pad here when it comes to loading your tailgate into the upright position. Make sure you use our fit guide when it comes to finding the specific size for your specific truck. They all will look like this whenever they are finally installed. This cover is going to be very easy to use whenever you are by yourself. When it comes to rolling it up, everything seems to roll very evenly even with the two support bars. As you can see that rolls nicely and evenly on both sides of the truck bed.Now the TonneauMate Toolbox that we have here is a great match with our tonneau cover. We weren't able to use it with this vehicle since it does have the OEM toolboxes already installed, but this would be a great match with this cover. With that being said, the overall installation process was very straightforward and very easy with minimal tools needed. It does have a very nice sleek look and finish to it. If you happen to have anything of value that you want to protect from the elements or have that option of versatility when it comes to moving taller or larger items, this is going to be a great option for your truck. One of the benefits of having the soft tonneau cover instead of let's say a harder one that folds up or lifts up, you will benefit from seeing out of the back glass.So you have full access and view from your rear view mirror. Also when it moves into the role up position it sits on top of the bed, that still does allow you to have that rear view through your glass with allowing you to have maximum bed space when it comes to hauling any equipment or gear. So if you're trying to decide between a hard cover or a soft cover, some of the benefits with the soft option is going to be whenever it is rolled up, and if you're hauling or storing anything in your bed, you are going to have the most view from your rear view when it comes to anything behind your vehicle, as well as maximizing your bed space. Everything will be stored on the top. Now, if you have a retractable one, sometimes there's a canister that's in the bed and that could obstruct with anything that you're trying to load or unload.Okay. So overall, some of my final thoughts about this tonneau cover are, I like the option of it just rolling up or folding up. It gives me a little bit more versatility than let's say a structured or a solid tonneau cover that way I can access anything that I might have in the back. It's also very easy to use if since I'm by myself most of the time, using the latches is very easy because it works on just one side for both of them or when it comes to rolling it up, I can do that so well as well. The other thing that I like about this tonneau cover is the vinyl top. It's going to protect everything that I have that's in the bed from the elements. And it's also going to be very easy to keep clean. I can either wipe it off or hose it off, whichever one that I would prefer. And that was a look at the TruXedo Deuce 2 Soft Tonneau Cover. I'm Andy. Decent cover not totally leak proof leaks in on both front corners not excessive but does leak. the front latch doesn't work well have to release one side then walk around to release other side easy roll up roll out easy install

Great Tonneau cover. Has held up since I purchased about 1 year ago (that included over a Minnesota winter!).
It has held up really well, looks like new. The cover handles cold weather in the Boston area with no issues.
I have had this cover for a few months now ... Makes a big difference in fuel mileage, and love the fact that I don't have crawl all the way in the back due the front flip up feature on the front of this cover.... It's awesome, took me less than an 45 minutes to install after watching the video !

I love the style and the way it works with my under cover tool box the mounting is great. The only downside is that the cover itself is starting to peal and rip any help with this issue from etrailer would be a great help.

Very happy with it. Installed easily and have really enjoyed it. The truck is parked outside and the cover is usually in the stowed position and is holding up very well after a year. I really enjoy it when traveling with our travel trailer as it protects and conceals our cargo area, I also enjoy the front section that folds back allowing access to my low profile tool box.
Like it . Hinged front is the best part , front fuel tank can be filled and also access to everything in front of wheel wells can be reached ,of course running boards to stand on is necessary to reach stuff . When pulling 5th wheel I roll it half way from the back and then put a ratchet strap across between tie down rings that are in the stack pockets , this is over the roll so that it does not go anywhere in the wind . The box on pickup is a full length 8ft so it worked out well . A color of neutral gray would be nice , that would maybe reflect some sun from making it like an oven underneath .
I purchased from etrailer due to the excellent videos they produced of the various options.
I chose this one due to the front opening portion of the cover since I have an 8' bed. This is well worth it to be able to access the front of the bed without having to roll it up to reach the front.
Really like this cover. Opens and rolls up easy with integrated supports. Storage straps. The best part is the cab side opening. Makes access to the storage container I keep at the front of the bed easy. Only slight knock on it is that a very little amount of water gets in the corners. Not enough to be concerned about.
The info I received using eTrailer was accurate and complete, as well as the videos they provided for installation......which was very easy and only took about 30 minutes to complete. Since then, the cover has held up well, though the truck has been stored inside most of the time. Soon it will be outside for several months but since the cover is both sturdy and of high quality, I expect no problems. I'm very happy I bought this for my truck.
Very easy install with good instructions. It keeps the stuff in the truck bed dry - even in our constantly wet PNW winter - and we don’t have to tie down lighter gear to keep it from blowing away. I especially like the front flip up and use it all the time for fishing and camping gear that I don’t want to have in the back of the truck bed with the gasoline or crabbing gear.

One year post install review. No problems with the installation, the cover or the mechanism. I think I readjusted the tailgate end closure/latching mechanism once after 7 or 8 months. I try to clean and treat the cover on e a month but it doesn't always get done. The fit and finish still looks new when it's clean. Pricey cover but it's holding up well. Cat tested daily. Thankfully they don't claw it.
I’ve had one on my work truck for a year now. I’m in and out of my bed mounted tool box and transfer fuel tank several times a day. The easy flip back is very convenient when I’m getting in and out! I also haul a 5th wheel camper trailer, so the roll up function is also a necessity. This tonneau cover matches my lifestyle perfectly and has proven itself to be very durable.
Thanks to input from the folks at etrailer, I have a Tonneau cover that fits my needs. I pull a 5th wheel trailer and I have 50 gallon auxiliary fuel tank/tool box combo. I needed the cover out of the way when towing and I wanted quick access to my tool box or when refueling. When it’s closed, the tonneau cover keeps my truck bed and whatever I’m hauling, dry and secure. The mounting system keeps the cover tight at any temperature. I’ve been in -23* to 105*, covered thousands of miles, with no issues.
This cover fit perfectly on my truck and was able to be mounted over my installed fifth wheel hitch with plenty of clearance. My two deciding factors in choosing this cover were that it would install over my hitch and that it gave me the ability to fill an in-bed fuel tank (not yet installed without having to roll it up from the back. This cover met both of those qualifications. I took a picture of the cover partially rolled back to the pivot point on the fifth wheel and I put a tape measure in the jaw so that you can clearly see that there is almost 2" of clearance between the hitch and the cover.
Great cover, replaced the exact same one I had for 9 years before the vinyl started to fail. The ability to open from the front is the best feature, giving access to the entire bed without having to roll the cover up.
My only criticism is the installation instructions could be better. Many steps had illustrations that were unclear and a text explanation would have been helpful.
