You've spent good money on your tools, so tossing them loose in the bed doesn't make much sense. It can be aggravating watching expensive tools get beat up just because they don't have a protected place to ride. They get knocked around while you drive, buried behind whatever else you're hauling, exposed to the weather, and left where anyone can walk off with them. This gull-wing crossover box gives them an enclosed place behind the cab while leaving room underneath for tools or other cargo in the bed. The included J-hook hardware mounts the box without drilling into your truck.
Give either locking knob a quick bump with your hand and the latch releases, letting the gas struts take over and smoothly raise that lid to nearly 90°. Independent gull-wing lids let you open just the half of the box you need from either side of the truck. Reinforced hinge points maintain alignment as the lids open and close, while full metal shields protect the struts from tools and equipment shifting inside the box. A full rubber weather seal surrounds the lid openings to help keep dust, dirt, and weather away from your gear.
A large open compartment gives you room for bigger gear, but small tools get buried when everything shares the same space. A sliding tool tray, level holder, and tool caddies on both interior side walls give screwdrivers and other frequently used tools their own places without taking away the main compartment.
The box is formed from one-piece aluminum diamond tread, with additional aluminum reinforcement at stress points throughout the enclosure. And because a toolbox that lives in your truck bed is going to see its share of rain and moisture, the corrosion-resistant aluminum is made for life outdoors.

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Westin Brute 62 inch Gull Wing standard crossover toolbox in a nice polish aluminum. I do wanna start off by saying we also do carry this in a textured black. And if you like that option better than polish aluminum, that's W55YH. Now I wanna start off with why is it called Gull Wing.
Well, if you don't already know, when it opens like this and that angle, that is what we call, or what the industry calls, gull wing. So it's very simple design. You have access to both sides, whether it's driver or passenger side at the side of your vehicle. Now inside of here, I'm gonna zoom in a little bit and show you a little better, but there is a tray that we can use to help hold tools and things like that. And that tray you can take out if you're very careful and get it at an angle and everything.
But it slides all the way over to that opposite side. So how cool is that, right And then on the other side, in yellow you also have a tool holder bar and you have that same tool holder bar on this side as well. It's just a little harder to see from the angle today, but it's yellow, it is mounted onto the side. I can hold my pliers a couple screwdrivers. There's two long slots and four single holes for like screwdrivers and whatnot.
And then on the tray itself, like I said, we can carefully get that out as well. It does have these aluminum dividers, four of 'em, and I put 'em all four in. And that gives me full of five equals slots here. But I can also take those dividers out and make them wider as needed. And then the hardware you're seeing in there, I just threw in the hardware that's used to install it.
So it's a no drill installation. And with these included J-hooks and bolts and so again, very easy installation as far as the toolbox onto your vehicle. And then again, this tray getting the back inside of here, bear with me. So the tray's a little bit harder to get in and out since I got the screwdriver in on this side, but you get the picture, right So it goes in with ease. And then you still even have a little space, a pocket space right here on this side. Now what's nice about these western bro that I personally like is everything has reinforced aluminum all throughout the main important parts. So protecting the locking mechanism around the lids, those kind of things. And then the other nice thing I like is that it's lockable obviously, but these are just push button to get inside of the toolbox. So if I close this up, let's say I have my hands, I got gloves and stuff on, I can easily just bump it and it's gonna automatically open. It features two gas struts on each going door, and that's gonna be what I'm gonna need to get in to this very, very easily and quickly. This is a one piece extra thick aluminum. Again, you can see that diamond tread design. I do wanna throw some dimensions real quick and you can see those dimensions. They're also on the product page as well. 62 inches long overall 18 tall by 20. And then the most important part of my opinion, where's it gonna sit inside of my bed, Steven So that's that 51 inches long, 11 inches tall, 20 inches wide on that part. So again, those are the dimensions. It really is a really nice option if you're looking for a nice heavy duty toolbox. You weren't able to see it, but I do actually have a full size impact drill kit in its case inside of there as well. Just with the gull wing style, it doesn't open so far to see down inside unfortunately, so I wasn't able to show you that too good. But you get the picture, it holds a lot of stuff. You even do get two foam strips that have a double sided adhesive on 'em, and those obviously are gonna go where your bed rail is to protect the bed rail when you sit the toolbox on for installation. And again folks, it does include two keys, it is lockable. That way you can open one side or the other and then you can keep them locked that way you don't have to worry about theft and those kind of things as well.
