Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident: 4,000-lb Front Suspension Support

A heavy front load can make your ride sag and throw off braking and steering. These SumoSprings Solo helper springs add up to 4,000 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to help keep the front end level and steady. They work with your factory suspension to bear the extra weight, improve control, and keep your headlights aimed where they should be.

Smooth Out the Ride: Progressive Load Control

Whether you’re carrying a lighter load or maxing out your front axle, these springs automatically adjust. The microcellular urethane compresses easily at first for soft engagement, then stiffens as the load increases—up to 80 percent compression under heavy weight. That progressive rate means fewer harsh hits on rough roads and better stability when things get heavy.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When one side of your vehicle dips or a curve leans you over, each spring reacts on its own to keep things balanced. This reduces body roll, helps with off-center loads, and keeps your front end planted through corners or uneven terrain. Steering feels more predictable and controlled, even when carrying extra gear up front.

Count on Long-Term Strength: Maintenance-Free Design

Built from extra-high-density microcellular urethane, these helper springs handle temperatures from -25 F to 200 F and resist oil, salt, and UV damage. They compress vertically with minimal side expansion so nearby parts stay safe from contact. With no air lines, tubing, or pressure to monitor, you can install them once—no drilling required—and just drive.

Speaker 1: Today, we're taking a look at the Sumo Spring solo custom helper springs for the front axle. Now, this is a custom fit design, so to ensure that this is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the Vehicle Fit Guide which is located at etrailer.com.Now, these helper springs are designed to upgrade your vehicle's front suspension for improved driver control and overall comfort. They also do a great job at supporting heavy front end loads to help keep your vehicle level. They absorb bumps and road shocks, and they really help minimize the amount of sway that you experience in the front of the vehicle. They feature progressive load control. So, these springs will compress according to the weight of your cargo.

For lighter loads, the springs compress by as much as 80% for maximum support, and they work independently from one another to compensate for those off center loads and reduce body roll during sharp turns. They're constructed of a durable extra high density micro cellular urethane designed to work in temperatures ranging from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit to positive 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and it resists damage that's typically caused by oils, road salts, and UV rays. Now, with these installed, they feature minimal lateral expansion. So, that means that these springs compress vertically instead of off to the side, so they aren't easily damaged when operating in tight spaces. My favorite feature is that they're maintenance free. There's no tubing to run or air pressure to monitor like with air springs. You install them and you forget about them.

With this part number, you'll get everything laid out here on the table. You get your springs, you get all the necessary brackets and hardware, and you get a tube of Thread Locker.Simple, no drill installation. The brackets are made from durable steel and feature a nice powder coated finish on them. The hardware's plated to resist rust and corrosion as well. Parts made in the U.S.A.

Weight capacity at 50% compression is 4,000 pounds. Just keep in mind the Sumo Springs will not increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity, so be careful not to exceed that. That's going to do it for today's look at the Sumo Spring solo custom helper springs for the front axle.

Put these on a Sprinter and what a positive difference they made. One can still feel the poor shape of our roads but no more jarring as was the case before. Definitely worth it.

by:

Springs arrived on time without any damage. Installation was completed in about a half hour with a 10mm socket, 3” extension and ratchet to remove the stock bump block on our Ford E450. Then just thread the Sumo Spring in place of the removed block. This was the easiest upgrade I’ve done so far.

by:

Very easy installation. Would be nice if they were about 2” longer to get contact sooner but they were a good replacement for the hollow stock bump stops.

by:

Sumo Springs really helped with the bumps in the front of the 2019 Ford E350 Winnebago! Very happy with them. Super easy install even though a bit awkward to reach the spot.

by:

Sumo springs greatly reduced body sway on my 2021 Mercedes Sprinter.

by:

these look like the perfect thing for my tired old helper springs, I put SumoSprings on my rear axel of my Jeep a year ago and the have made that ride much better hoping for the same with these.

Installed Sumo Springs on my 2019 Chevy 4500 motorhome, I was looking for ride improvement without breaking the bank. These days so many products are marketed well but never match the performance that was promised. That is not the case with Sumo Springs!!! I am very pleased with the ride improvement, sway is gone when transitioning from different levels of pavement and the shock of bumps is 50% better!! Installed myself on front and back in about 1 hour, front ended up about 3/8” higher after a couple days, got front end alignment done but didn’t need any adjustment. Finished a 400 mile road day today and my wife and I are very pleased. Excellent product!!

I’ve made several purchases from eTrailer and have been satisfied every time! Recently bought front and rear Sumo helper springs. Installation was a breeze. They have helped reduce the side to side sway caused by wind, freeway traffic and rough roads. So far im very happy with them.

by:

Installed front Sumosprings yesterday but have not driven vehicle yet. The front have full contact with the A-frames.
Should help with van side-to-side sway.
Shopping around for a set to install on the rear as well.

by:

These Sumo springs (as well as the ones I purchased for the rear of my RV) installed easily, fit perfectly and do a great job reducing vibration and improving ride quality. Very pleased.

by:

2006 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW 5.9 Cummins 4x2
Original
bump stops were dry rotted and almost not existent. Very easy install. Took about 30 minutes. The Sumo springs are engaged all the time. This may be due to the truck being a 4x2? You can feel the front end is stiffer over bumps and dips of the road, which I feel is ok and not extreme. Towing the 5th wheel I feel the truck handles better than before.

by:

Ordering and delivery was quick and easy. The SumoSprings really improved the ride of our C Class RV. The only problem was one of the springs had cross threaded threads so I had to tap the treads to make it work. They were delivered in a plain brown box with no manufacture information or instructions. It makes believe the were a returned item, the previous purchaser couldn't get them to work either. I just had the tools and skill to correct the problem.

by:

I recently purchased/installed SumoSprings for the front axle on my 2018 Thor Freedom Elite 28FE. Having previously purchased/installed SumoSprings for the rear axle I have to say that the overall improvement in ride/handling has exceeded my expectations. As always, etrailer provided valuable insights and prompt inquiries to my questions. The level of in-depth product knowledge amongst the etrailer staff is second to none. Thanks etrailer!

I have a Workhorse W22 chassis. I installed steering dampeners and HD sway bar to reduce the "loose" steering. After installing the SumoSprings Front Spring helpers on the front end, 90% of the looseness on the front end disappeared. It is now a pleasure to drive. Very little sway from passing trucks and cross winds. I will be installing a set on the rear this year.

by:

Super easy to install maybe 30 minutes for all 4
Fronts were done from above with wheel turned full right or left and load off that side with jack, rears jack to take off load only used large flat head screw drive to remove replace
improved side to side roll/sway ride is firmer went with the black capacity maybe yellow on rear if loads increase

by:

Product is great, exceeded my expectations. Install is simple and straightforward. It’s a night and day difference in both the body roll and the handling small bumps all the way up to off-road conditions.

by:

What most new RV owners don't know is that the chassis that their new mobile home sits on barely has the equipment to support that new home. Adding SumpSprings is going to improve your ride and help support the structure of your home. FYI, use a jack on the leaf springs to help align the holes on the bracket to the ones on the frame.

Thank you

Raised the front end a made it more sta ble

by:

Work great, truly help RV roll…

by:

Parts were extremely easy to install, instructions were satisfactory. Shipping took alot longer than expected but etrailer kept me informed at least. The Sumo front bumpstops work ok, didn't dampen as much as I had hoped for the price but they smooth out the harshness somewhat from rolling empty in an F450. Maybe with rear bags it would be better. Overall I would say I am satisfied with my purchase. Install is a piece of cake, took longer to find my jackstands than to put them in. Kinda spendy at $xx.xx though.

by:

Very easy install will update when I take it out on the road

  • Suspension Enhancement for Thor Four Winds SD35 on 2016 F-550 Chassis
Hey Gary! The answer to your first question is both. I would use the higher rated Timbren SES # TFRSDE in the rear and then the SumoSprings # SSF-111-60 in the front. With all of the weight in your motorhome the Timbren will do a better job supporting the rear, absorbing road shock, and cutting down on sway. The SumoSprings are still rated pretty high at 4,000 lbs, and they will give you a better ride quality up front compared to the Timbren. Where are you headed once you get these...

  • Recommended Front Suspension Enhancement For a 2022 Ford F-250 With Front Receiver Hitch
I recommend adding the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-111-40 to the front of your 2022 Ford F-250. Since you have the additional weight from the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7904 and your Cargo Carrier # e98874 on your front suspension these springs will help to absorb the road shock you are experiencing. The springs have a capacity of 1,000lbs at 50% compression to help support the load. If you intend to use your front receiver with something...

  • Recommended Front SumoSprings for 2007 Bigfoot Motorhome on E-450 Chassis
The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-111-60 are the best choice for your 2007 Bigfoot. These will support the front of your motorhome, smooth out your ride, and help to minimize sway. They also have a 4,000 lb capacity and come with a limited lifetime warranty.

  • SumoSprings Kits that Fit 2023 Entegra Odyssey 24 B
Yes you can add the yellow SumoSprings kits for your 2023 Entegra Odyssey 24 B with the part # SSF-111-60 for the front and the part # SS94VR for the rear. The rear set is a leaf spring style as there isn't a jounce spring option available at this time.
