Features to Know About

Add Capacity Without Starting Over: One 100-Watt Panel for Compatible Systems

You may not need a complete solar kit when your current array needs a little more capacity or a damaged panel needs to be replaced. This single 100-watt panel lets you expand a compatible system without purchasing a charge controller, wiring, or other components you may already have. It can be wired in series or parallel as your system allows, giving you flexibility to plan around your battery bank, charge controller, available mounting space, and daily power use.

Work With the Space You Have: Compact Panel Measures 39" Long

Roof vents, racks, antennas, and other equipment can limit where another solar panel will fit. At 39" long, this 100-watt panel gives you a practical option for smaller open areas where a larger panel may be difficult to position. The 13.9-lb design is also manageable to lift and align while you mark mounting points and make connections. You can add useful solar capacity without making the installation harder than it needs to be.

Make Better Use of Changing Sunlight: Monocrystalline Cells Support Steady Output

Solar conditions rarely stay the same throughout the day. Morning light, passing clouds, and shifting sun angles can all reduce the energy reaching your panel. The nine-busbar monocrystalline cells are designed to collect available sunlight efficiently as conditions change. Anti-reflective glass allows more sunlight to reach the cells, helping the panel make better use of the roof or mounting space it occupies.

Leave It Mounted Through Changing Weather: Durable Materials Protect the Panel

A permanently mounted panel has to handle road vibration, changing temperatures, and regular exposure to the elements. Tempered glass and an anodized aluminum frame help protect the solar cells during travel and outdoor use, while water-resistant connections help shield the wiring. The panel is tested for wind, snow, and hail loads, preparing it for the changing conditions your RV, van, boat, or other solar setup may encounter.

Replace or Expand More Easily: Common Mounting Options Simplify Planning

Pre-drilled frame holes work with compatible ground mounts, Z-brackets, pole mounts, and tilt mounts, giving you several ways to position the panel. Industry-standard MC4-type solar connectors also make it easier to integrate with compatible wiring and system components. You can replace a damaged panel or add more capacity without rebuilding the rest of your solar system.

  • Can Rich Solar Panel Kits Be Expanded For More Watts And Amperage?
Great question George, the Rich Solar 100w panel kit # RS27VR has a controller rated for 20A which is about double what the 100w panel needs, so you can add another 100w panel for a total of 200w and still use the included controller without an issue. One customer, Aaron in Georgia, started with the RS27VR on his tear trailer and added a second 100W panel the following year when he installed a 12V fridge and upgraded to two 100Ah AGMs. If you decide to go this route, you can use # RS77VR...

  • Do I Need Full Rich Solar Kit If My RV Is Prewired With Solar On The Side Port?
Great question, Jeff! If your trailer has a “Solar on the Side” port (typically SAE or Furrion), you still need a full solar kit like # RS27VR or # RS67VR, which include a controller. The solar prepped trailers just have a port that leads to the trailer's battery, but it still needs the panel, wiring, and charge controller as these kits include.

  • Can The Rich Solar Portable Panel RS77VR Power Starlink And 12V Fridge During The Day?
Yes, in full sun, the Rich Solar # RS77VR can produce ~5.3A. Many overlanders, like Lydia in Utah, run their Starlink router and Dometic fridge off this setup with a 100Ah LiFePO4 battery and stay charged all day. We recommend monitoring usage with a Bluetooth battery monitor for best results. If you want to add 2 of these panels, you can use this splitter MC4 Y-Adapter Parallel Cables for Redarc Solar Panels # RED78VR to plug them into a controller together.

  • Is It Okay To Leave Portable Rich Solar Panels Outside In Rain Or Snow?
The RS-series portable panels like Rich Solar Mega 100 Solar Panel - 12V - 100 Watts # RS77VR, Rich Solar Mega 200 Portable Solar Panel with Case - MC4 Connectors - 200 Watts # RS85FR, and Rich Solar Mega 250 Solar Panel - 12V - 250 Watts # RS35FR are weather-resistant IP67 rated. That means rain is fine, just avoid prolonged exposure or full submersion. Use the included kickstand bag as a cover (included with # RS85FR) when not in use or store indoors when not using it to keep it nice.

  • Can Rich Solar RS35FR Portable Solar Panel Connect Directly To Trailer's Prewired Solar Port?
Hey Nathaniel, the Rich Solar Mega 250 Solar Panel - 12V - 250 Watts # RS35FR has mc4 connectors which usually run to a charge controller, which would then connect to the prewired solar port on your trailer. If you don't have that yet, I would just go with a complete kit like # RS37VR which includes a controller and everything necessary for your trailer to get the solar power it desires. What kind of trailer do you have?
