Nothing ruins a road trip faster than a steering wheel that won’t stay centered. The Exact Center stabilizer uses a nitrogen-charged tandem gas spring that keeps your steering tight and predictable. It’s always working to hold the wheels straight, stopping drift and rut tracking before it even begins. The result is smooth, confident control instead of that constant fight to stay in your lane.
If you’ve ever felt that violent front-end shake after hitting a bump, you know how unsettling it is. The Exact Center’s gas spring design doesn’t just react after the wobble has started—it prevents it from happening at all. By keeping your steering centered and firm, it kills the dreaded “death wobble” and helps you stay in control through potholes, uneven surfaces, and road edging.

Flat towing can be tricky, especially when trying to back up. The Exact Center is the first steering stabilizer that lets you reverse your towed setup without risking a jackknife. It holds the front wheels straight as you back up, helping protect your tow bar and keeping your rig in line. That means less stress and fewer surprises when maneuvering your setup.

You don’t need to cut or weld anything to get this stabilizer on the road. It bolts directly to factory axle bracket holes on one end and the tie-rod location on the other. The kit includes custom mounting brackets and all the hardware you need, so the install is clean and simple with basic tools.
This setup is made to handle real use. The stabilizer body and brackets are heavy-duty stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and wear. With a spring length of 21-1/8" from center to center of the bushings and a limited lifetime warranty, it’s a solid upgrade that keeps your steering sharp and reliable for the long haul.

Do not like how it handles with the center steer
Speaking for myself, and in all honesty from my opinion and with experience using Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. Driving with the ECSS, I’ve found it will be useful on my Jeep being towed. I have several thousand miles on my Jeep, and found city driving okay, but steering you must keep your hands on the wheel. This also goes even more so on the highway. Just returned from a long trip out west to Yellowstone NP, towing a very small camper, and it was very difficult at times when driving only 65-70 mph, with special focus when on the highway when the highway makes direction turns, and really white knuckle both hands on wheel when the road isn’t smooth. As it turns out, on July 2, 2025, I removed the ECSS, and replaced with a normal steering stabilizer, and realize it’s much better, both city and highway driving. I also realize I shot over $400 on something I believed would work better, and I was wrong. The ECSS, may be good when your vehicle is towed, maybe even better on a smooth race track, but on my Jeep, it’s actually unsafe in my opinion and from my experience. I’m thinking more testing is needed, along with additional engineering with adjustments before I would spend that kind of money and knowing it will work first before wasting my money again. Long story short, I had focus on my driving the entire 4000 miles practically with white knuckles way too much, and because of this I missed most of the scenery with is the first time almost thats ever happened. Only bad weather did that before, and a damaged tie rod. I would not recommend the product to anyone, with the exceptions mentioned above. It’s not worth the amount I had to pay, and a mistake buying it. Hopefully you’re honest enough to accept my honesty and truth as I have experienced.

Steve
This it the second Roadmaster stabilizer I have purchased from Etrailer. Other was for our older 2011 motorhome and after having it I did not want to drive without 1. This is different than prior unit- big factor is so much lighter and easy to adjust, so far working perfectly…
I stopped short of 5 stars because the instructions could be a lot clearer.
Easy to install if you have the right tools, 3/4" torque wrench etc. Seems to be doing the job on smooth roads, our roads are terribly rutted and lots of frost heaves. Did not have to adjust after install.
I installed the exact center myself. It took me about an hour due to a couple rusty bolts. Test Robin on some side roads and the main road today and I love it. Keeps me on the lane. I don’t have to play the wheel back-and-forth constantly. It doesn’t pop back to center as quuck as I thought it would, but maybe I just gotta get used to it. Definitely an improvement for a long trip.
The motorhome drives so much easier now. I would recommend this if your on the fence.
This has improved the steering significantly for our 2021 Jayco Redhawk 25R! It's almost incredible how much better it is. Can now hold the steering with one hand and does not pull in one direction. Huge improvement!
Supper easy install takes about 1 1/2 hours and most definitely made a difference in the steering input and holding the road is definitely improved.
I will have to wait until next year to install the stabilizer. I had to have the kingpins replaced in the Ford front end at 13,500 miles because parts were left out at the factory. We were not able to use the motorhome much this year.
Made a world of difference. Installed on a Class C RV and was a marked improvement over the anemic OEM “steering stabilizer.” Very little adjustment required.
Super easy install on a 2019 Leprechaun 319MB ,Class C RV. Hardest part was taking off the old hardware. Followed the instructions and test drove at 60mph and it drove totally straight and did not have to make any micro adjustments. A very well made product.
Best investment I have made on this Motorhome. So much easier to drive and keep in it's lane.
I had the road master exact center steering stabilizer installed on my RV and tried it out and it was perfect driving and maintaining position on the road way with out drifting. Although my tow vehicle was not connected I thought it felt good without out it a believe it will be fine.
We installed the Roadmaster steering stabilizer on our 2018 Thor Chateau 24F motorhome. The drifting issue we'd experienced was significantly improved making driving easier and less stressful.
Great product! My installer Martins Auto Tech did a fantastic job!!! Jeff Martin the owner took the extra time to make sure everything was aligned correctly and took the time to explain why he liked the product we chose from etrailer! If i ever needed or will need any work done to my RV. I would use etrailer and Jeff Martins Auto Tech in Hollywood Maryland! Btw your source page led us to Martins Auto Tech with great reviews! Thank you again!
This one of the best if not the best exact center steering stabilizer on the market. Steering my 38 foot class A gas motorhome is simply a breeze. I use to fight my steering wheel to keep my motorhome straight on every type of road. I use to brace and prepare to input multiple steering corrections whenever a Semi truck was about to pass me. With my exact center steering stabilizer installed plus the addition of air bags (front and rear) driving my motorhome is now as easy as driving my F-150 super duty. The exact center steering stabilizer alone improved all of the white knuckle constant steering adjustments i was experiencing. The air bags prevent the side to side movements from cross winds and when a Semi truck passes my motorhome. The vast improvement is the same with or without the toad. This was by far the most cost effective, easily installed, and immediate improvement I have made to my 2015 Coachmen Encounter 37LS Motorhome.
First road trip with our new Integra Odyssey from New York to Key West. It was a nightmare driving this thing down south! Ordered this Roadmaster and had it shipped to my friend's house in Florida. We installed it in about an hour and it is a night and day difference. Sway is almost completely gone and you can let go of the wheel and it stays centered. No more white knuckle driving!
Item arrived quickly the video on the site actually helped with the installation and it was very simple, installation is on a 2023 Nexus Wraith 34w on the international MV 670 chassis
The Exact Center Stabilizer itself is very good. The bracket that was sent only worked on one side of vehicle. Instruction say it is universal for either side mounting. That is incorrect for the kit I received. The stabilizer itself would have fit better on my 2022 F53 if it were about 2 inches longer.
Everything was great! You guys are excellent. Thanks for everything
Excellent! Super fast shipping. Package arrived 2 days earlier than originally estimated. Always have great service from etrailer!
This review is for the Exact Center Stabilizer mounted on a stock 2022 Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon 2 door. It was installed ONLY for the sole purpose of being able to back up while being flat towed behind my RV, the Jeep prior to installation did not have a "death wobble" and tracked fine. The installation was slightly different than the Wrangler videos on Etrailer as the brackets have been redesigned to mount the Exact Center unit higher up our of harms way (good) and stock steering stabilizer remains in place (good). This makes the installation a little more difficult and requires drilling a hole in a "barely fits" location. The installation photos are poor quality and one of the supplied grade 8 bolts was too long which was annoying. The new brackets are very good quality and nice powder coating. You should plan on taking multiple road test trips to get the adjustment set as it is VERY sensitive to length position. After installation, the vehicle feels more planted and less "twitchy" however the steering effort as expected is higher especially at center. It is most noticeable on long curves where more pressure is required to keep the wheels turned. It is not objectionable but it is higher/different. WARNING ! While using my tow bar, I found that it was imperative to lock the bars in the fully extended tow position by BACKING up the jeep and not PULLING the RV forward as I used to do. This is because the front wheels do not turn and follow the RV as easily especially if you are not lined up perfectly behind RV which happens much of the time. I almost bent my tow bars the first time because one side locked and the other did not as the Jeep wanted to go straight. Don't make this expensive mistake. I also suspect the front tires of the towed vehicle will scrub a bit more while flat towing causing some extra tire wear. The real test - can you backup while flat towing? Yes, it tracks well in reverse if you are going straight. You can also gently curve a bit but not much. I recommend you test the limits as I did to prevent tow bar damage. If you exceed the "just a little bit" amount the front wheels of the tow vehicle will crab the wrong way very quickly. So if you don't mind the little extra steering effort, some minor procedural changes to hooking up the towed vehicle and want the peace of mind to be able to reverse in a fairly straight line while flat towing the Exact Center will do the job.
