Rut tracking occurs when your truck or RV hits an uneven patch of pavement and is, consequently, pulled into that rut and off of the smooth pavement. With larger trucks and motor homes, this problem can be difficult to correct because you have to work even harder to steer back onto the road. With Roadmaster's TruTrac system, rut tracking is a thing of the past. The unique Trac rod attaches to the front axle of your vehicle, essentially holding it in place to prevent jarring and any unnecessary shifting. In addition to minimizing rut tracking, the TruTrac system helps to end driver fatigue by eliminating wander, which is the "loose steering" feeling that causes you to oversteer.

Video Transcript for Roadmaster TruTrac Front-Axle Trac Rod for Large Trucks and RVs: The Breakdown

Today we're going to take a look at the Roadmaster True Track Front Axle Track Rod for large trucks and RVs. And this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999 to 2005 Ford F-53 and Ford F-550 Class A motor homes with the V10 engines. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to the website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you if this'll work for your application. Also on the product page for this part number at the bottom of the page, it does list some of the motor homes that this will fit on.Now this part will make your vehicle easier to steer and control using this true track system. Has this unique rod here that'll keep your vehicle's axle in line so that your wheels won't veer into any ruts.

Now rough tracking will occur on your truck or RV when you hit an uneven patch of pavement and it's consequently pulled into that rut and off the smooth pavement. So with the larger trucks and motor homes, this problem can be difficult to correct because you've got to work even harder to steer back onto the road. And lots of times, it even makes you keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times. So basically with this unique track rod, this will attach to the front axle of your vehicle and it essentially holds it in place to prevent any jarring and unnecessary shifting. So it'll help minimize the wander and the rut tracking and improves overall performance. It will control excessive axle side play without affecting the up and down movement of your suspension.

And it also even reduces driver fatigue by eliminating wander, which is the loose steering feeling that will cause you to oversteer. So it will minimize the effort that's required to keep your vehicle in line. Now if you notice the bushings they use, they are built with polyurethane bushings instead of the standard rubber variety. It gives it a lot longer lasting system. And the reason is the polyurethane is much more durable and resistant to damage that can be caused by oil, gas, and ozone. So of course, less wear will mean less give in your system and better support.

The track rod itself is constructed of a thick cadmium plated 4140 chrome moly steel for superior strength. Diameter on this track rod is 1-1/2".Does include, I laid out on the table here are all the parts. It includes all the mounting brackets, all the grade five mounting hardware and a nice set of detailed installation instructions that'll describe in detail how to install this. Now this does install using existing holes in your vehicle's frame so there's no drilling or welding required. And what's really nice is some of our customers have commented that when they installed this part to their RV, that the parts have fit like OEM parts, no problems fitting.Another unique customer review we had, they mentioned that they drove a 32 foot Itasca Sunrise to Maine and it felt like they needed to keep both hands on their steering wheel constantly.

And they had this part installed when they we're in Maine. They drove back home to Florida with much better handling and control of their RV. So they're very happy. And this part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Roadmaster True Track Front Axle Track Rod for large trucks and RVs.

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancements for 2022 Thor ACE Motorhome on Ford F-53 Chassis
From what I can find online, it appears your motorhome is built on the Ford F-53 chassis and since most coaches are built on the previous years model, I presume your 2022 Thor ACE Motorhome is built on the 2021 Ford F-53 chassis. Please verify this and identify the GVWR of you specific motorhome. I suggest the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar, # RM25VR along with the Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer with Mounting Brackets, # RM62VR. These fit 16,000 to 26,000 GVWR chassis. There...

  • Can Firestone Air Bags Be Installed With a Roadmaster Davis TruTrac Bar on a 2001 Ford F53 Chassis?
For your 2001 Ford F53 Chassis with the Roadmaster TruTrac Front-Axle Trac Rod # RM-TRACV-10B installed I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2170. This kit will mount in front of the axle so that it will not interfere with the TruTrac bar you already have installed. You will need to confirm that you do have at least 8" from the outside of the frame rails to the inside of your tires for the kit to fit properly. With the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2070...

  • Front Axle Stabilizer for a 1999 Fourwinds Infinity on a Ford F53 Chassis
Blue Ox does make a great product but Roadmaster's stuff works well so I would go with it, save some money, and maybe look into putting some of that back into stabilizing the rear end as well. So for the front axle use the Roadmaster TruTrac, # RM-TRACV-10B. For the rear you can upgrade the factory sway-bar bushings with kit # RM-4139-125. Upgrading just the bushings will also help provide a more stable ride compared to the stock bushings. I have included a link to our help article on...
