Hello, neighbors, Steve here at etrailer.com. Today, we're talking toilets, the Thetford Cassette Toilet. It's an internal water supply included with a manual flush and a nice swivel seat. Now, I do wanna start off with some basic dimensions, make sure this is gonna fit your application. I've got a wall console dimension, that's the back part here, of 16 1/4 inches wide by 28 11/16 tall, so the height and that width. The seat height from the ground is gonna be 19 1/2 inches, and the seat length is gonna be 16 3/4 inches.
So zooming in here to the toilet, the cassette toilet is a great option for small spaces. If you're replacing this particular model, this will be a direct fit. That's the cassette there inside, and we'll go over that here in a minute. The toilet bowl itself can rotate 260 degrees. And let me zoom back out and show you that function.
So why would you want the toilet seat to rotate Well, pretty simply, let's say that the door of the bathroom was facing this way over here, now, when I mount this, I can make sure the toilet is facing the door for space constraints, that kind of thing. And vice versa, it can move to the other side. Now, if you're sitting on this, this should not be rotating. Yes, you might be able to physically move it, but the weight of the person sitting on it should prevent it from rotating, so just keep that in mind. As far as the seat and the lid and everything here, as you can tell, it's not a quiet one.
As far as the lid, the lid is a little bit quieter, you can't really hear that. So I just wanna point those out. Some of the other toilet they have have the soft close option on there. Now, this does actually store the fresh water inside of the assembly itself. So there's no water line required, you simply add water through the fill door.
The fill door is included. I'll come around here to the front. So this fill door is included. I'm gonna pull it off, it's not technically installed right now. So this fill door comes with a set of keys. You get two keys. You would put the water in here to fill it up, and then lock it when not in use. Keep in mind, this is on the exterior of the RV or the camper, everything else is on the inside. And that simply just pushes in there, and there's a set of screws that are included for installation that are with that. Now, coming in from the top down, let's take a look. This indicator here, it's kinda green. You might see the red off to this side a little bit, but when the tank is empty, you're gonna see green. When this red indicator fills up completely, that's telling you, "Hey, the tank's full, the cartridge is full, the cassette rather, and you need to empty it." Right here, you've got the flush where the water's gonna shoot out of, or kind of gravity out of if you will. And that's very simple to use. The flush handle is right here on top. You'd simply push down on that whenever it's got water and everything, or I'm sorry, pull up on that. When it's got water in it, you have to pull up, and that will let the water out, gravity. Now, as far as using the toilet itself, coming back here to the front, you've got this little lever here. You must open the lever to open the hatch to let all the stuff that's going out into the waste container, the cassette. And let me zoom in and we'll go to the cassette next. So again, you have the waste container, the cassette if you will here. You simply pull up on this tab, that will allow this to pull out completely. Oh, sorry, I forgot to close the hatch. So another safety feature, when the hatch is open, you can't pull the cassette out. So we'll close the hatch. And then now, you should be able to lift up and pull out. There you go, yeah. It should pull out that gentle. So again, if it doesn't pull out, you know the hatch is still open. So this is our cassette, I'll pull it out. And I'll point out why it's empty in there. Those four screw holes, it does come with included hardware to mount the toilet to the floor. You've got those four screws there. You've got two different patches here, or compartment hides I'll call them. They'll snap into place there whenever this is installed to help hide anything back behind there for the install process. Now, going to the cassette, I'm going to push this over on my table very carefully, so I can show you the cassette itself. So the cassette, we pulled it out, we need to go dump. Well, it's got a built-in handle here, much like your carry-on luggage. It simply pops open like that. Let me zoom out here, so we can see this better. There we go. So it is on wheels, so you can wheel it around much like a carry-on luggage if you will. And again, this handle simply just manually pops into place. It's gonna be held in up here at the front with the plastic trim. Now, coming back around here, this is your air purge button right here. So when you're emptying, you wanna push this button to let air in to help dump. Now, when it's time to dump, a lot of people will turn this and kinda point it straight and try to dump. Don't do that, 'cause you're gonna make a mess, it's gonna come out really quickly. Make sure you rotate this dump arm all the way over to the side. Take your cap off. You have your dump here let's say. Now, you can rotate this guy sideways like so, and go carefully and perfectly in the hole. Push the air purge to let it dump and make your dump that way. When you're done, this cap has on it included some measurements right there molded into the plastic. I believe you've got ounces and milliliters. And also, on the inside, you've got those measurements molded in there as well. So for the instructions, you're gonna put some of the included cleaners and sanitizers and rinse concentrates, those kind of things. Whichever one you're supposed to put in here, make sure you put the appropriate kind, put it back on. And then you are ready to go, you can put this back in the toilet itself. Now, one thing to show you while I got this out. When we're pulling that lever on the front of the toilet, it's actually pushing this out of the way and opening that whole assembly at the same time to allow the waste to go in there. So that knob on the toilet is actually turning this and letting the waste go in. When you push this cartridge in, it automatically pulls this open, and whenever you pull the cartridge out, it automatically closes it. So they keep all the waste and the yuck inside there. So I'm gonna slide this back over and put our cartridge back in. So again, we've cleaned it, we've done everything. We simply pop it back in, automatically locks in place, and we're ready to go. Now, as I just showed you, it does come with some rinse. It's a free sample that comes with it. This is your Aqua Rinse Concentrated that'll go in the flush part, and then the Aqua Kem Concentrated that'll go in the cassette itself. These four screws here are included with that back fill door station, and they're included. So a nice little cassette toilet folks, lightweight plastic construction. Again, it will come with a template as well. That's in the instructions, you just fold it out. It's actually a pretty big template, it's provided for positioning the toilet in the proper place. 4.7 gallons capacity on the cassette, and it's a 2.37 gallon capacity on the flush. And again, you're pulling up for the flush to flush. Now, I've already given you dimensions earlier, it has a nice three-year warranty. And again, folks, this is a nice either replacement or a brand new toilet option if you need one. Folks, I'm Steven, thanks so much for watching. That's a lot of information. I hope this information's been helpful, possibly educational if you've never seen this kind of toilet. As always, we're here to help you if you have any questions or concerns here at etrailer.com. Folks, thanks again for watching. Have a great day, and stay safe.
