Video Transcript for RV Designer Safety Lock Pin Spec Review

Hi, Matt with the etrailer. Today we are going to be talking about the RV Designer Pin and Clip. Now this is going to be the one that's going to have a five 16ths in diameter, and it's going to span two and five eighths of an inch. So with these pins, they're going to work in a lot of applications, whether you're using them for towing or you're trying to hold something else down, they're very universal. That's what I like about them. But typically I see them with towing when you're pairing it up with a coupler, like I have right here.

Now with this diameter, this is going to be compatible with most couplers out there for a couple of reasons. One, diameter fits on here really easy, but we have plenty of span here. So on these latch styles, this is no issue. It feels really easy to use. And I know it's not going to come off when I'm driving down the road, which is really important because this is going to be holding down your trailer or staying connected to your trailer.

So it's really important that this does not disconnect. That's where this comes into play. The other thing that I like about it is if you have a, let's say, a two inch coupler, and it has one of those styles that has a hole in one end to the other side, typically you need a longer pin. This will still be compatible with a lot of them. And the last thing is it's going to have this zinc plating to adhere or the coating, and it's going to be made of steel so it is going to last you a long time.
