Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this RV Designer gas strut. Now, this gas strut is kind of like a support arm that you see holding things up like your RV doors, truck caps, or storage compartments. Its main job is to make opening and closing smoother, safer, and a whole lot easier. So just to give you the measurement of length here, measuring center of socket to center of socket, as you can see we're at 20 inches.
This is gonna give you about 100 pounds of lifting force. That's gonna help take some of the weight off when you are lifting something like a cargo door or bed platform. So instead of it slamming shut, the strut is going to control the movement so it opens easily and closes in a more controlled way. It's pretty versatile too. You're gonna be able to use this, like I said, on your RV beds, entry doors, truck caps, or really any compartment that needs a little lift assistance.
This does not include any additional hardware. It is a ball socket installation, so the installation should be pretty straightforward. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name's Andy.

We replaced the gas struts on the rv king size bed that came with our 5th wheel with these because after we upgraded the mattress the original ones couldn't support the weight. These are working much better and support the weight of the bed when lifted up with no problemo. They were very easy to swap out from the original ones also.
