Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Compartment Door Finger Pull

AJ: What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be checking out this Finger Pull tab for compartment doors on your rig from JR Products. Now what this is going to do, like I said, it's going to go on your compartment doors, help you easily open it and let it down. This can be one of those hassles that you don't think about, but builds up over time to where you have to fumble to get the door open if there wasn't a latch or something to grab onto, you can easily add this in to any of your compartment doors, just to get that quick, open and done. Let's check it out.Our pull tabs made out of stainless steel.

So it's going to match your lock cores or your thumb latches that go on the outside of the compartment doors. So you don't have to worry about them deteriorating or rusting or anything like that. They're going to hold up just fine. It also installs really easily. It just sandwiches right here between the lock and the door or with a thumb latch in the door and it just goes right in there.

Let's check out how we did it.First step in installing it is decide where you're going to put it. We're going to put it over around our lock here, so then when it's attached, I can easily just put my finger, lift the door up. So it's lifted up and get that lock out of there first. You need a screwdriver, Phillips head. Loosen the screw here and we're going to remove the lock tab.

And now we're going to have to use a ratchet to get this backed off so you can loosen and remove the key to add our handle.Now with it loose and release the door, bring it down, using my thumb, pop the lock out of there. Probably want to do it a little better than I did and maybe hold onto it or something like that. But the core is out. Now add on our thumb latch. Put the lock core back in there and pretty much repeat our steps in reverse.

We're going to tighten down. We've got it installed.So now when you'd open up your door and just use that latch, it's way easier than trying to grab this or just try and grab it at the ends. Easy up, easy down.That's pretty much it for the Finger Pull tab here to open up this compartment door. It's pretty easy to install as you saw me do, not too many steps, but really just one of those things you don't think about until you start getting annoyed when you go to open your compartment doors.
