Speaker 1: Today we're going to be showing you how to wire your Mighty Cord Replacement Hardware RV Plug. The 30 amp female end is available with part and number A10-R30VP. For the 30 amp male end, it's part number A10-P30VP. Don't replace your entire cord if your plug gets damaged. The Mighty Cord 30 amp plug is the perfect replacement. This three terminal plug is easy to install should you have run over yours, or otherwise damaged it.
It's made out of a durable polyester, and features a pivoting handle for easy plugging and unplugging. Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how you can wire it up. First thing we want to do with all electrical, is you wanna make sure there's no power going to it, so we've gone ahead and unplugged ours. For the other end, you want to strip back about two inches of the black jacket, then you wanna take some wire strippers and strip back about a half inch of insulation revealing the copper wire. We can set our wire aside for now. Let's move on to our plug. For this your just gonna need a Phillips head screwdriver.
We'll wanna loosen up the three smaller Phillips head screws. One here in the center, and then the two here. With everything loose, let's go ahead and pull it apart. We can set our handle aside for now. Now if your connections come out, or come loose, not a problem.
Inside the end of the plug here is a little diagram for where they go. They are color coded. The green is gonna go here. We'll wanna make sure that the little tab is sitting on the tabbed cutout end here. And then our white, which is the non-painted one, goes here. Now we can loosen up our strain relief.
We'll use that same Phillips head screwdriver, and to make sure that our hardware doesn't fall back out, I'm just gonna grab it like this, flip it over, and loosen these up here. Now we don't need to take these out all the way either, we'll just need to make sure we can fit our jacket in between the strain relief and into the plug here. Now we can take our cord and we're gonna push it through the strain relief here. If the wire comes through, you can kind of hold that out of the way if you'd like. And we just want to push it through to where the jacket sticks out just a little bit inside here. About there. Now let's tighten it up. Now before we connect any of our wires, we wanna make sure that our cord is securely in place, so we can move it around, give it a good tug, and make sure that it's not gonna come out.Now we can loosen up our screws and fit our wires in. Now again here, we don't need to take them all the way out. There are two plates. There's the top plate here, and the one underneath. By loosening 'em up, we just need to make sure we allow enough space to fit in our wire. Since it's color coded, we're just gonna be matching color for color. I'm gonna take the white first. I'm gonna move the other wires out the way, and what we wanna do here to get a good connection, is go ahead and straighten everything out, and we're actually gonna take the wire and split it. Just like that. I'm gonna give 'em a good twist to keep everything together. And what we wanna do here, is straddle the screw. So I'm gonna angle 'em in a little bit, and we're just going to fit into place. Just like that. Then we can tighten it down. And we can repeat the same process with the other two wires. With everything connected, we'll want to be sure and push our wires kind of towards the inside, just like this, that way we can put our back cover on. We'll start by setting our handle in place. I'm gonna set it just with the notches here. Just like that. Then we can take the back cover and rest that over top. Just like that. Before we tighten down our screws, we can make sure that that handle works, which it does. Go ahead and turn it over and tighten everything up. Perfect. Now our male plug installs the exact same way. Now we're ready to use it with our RV or camper. And that's gonna complete our Mighty Cord Replacement Hardware RV Plug.

Replaces the worn or damaged 30-amp female plug on your RV's power cord. 90-Degree angle and built-in handle makes this easy to plug in and disconnect. Durable polyester construction is weather resistant.Mighty Cord Replacement Hardwire RV Plug - Female End - 30 Amp was used to replace the damaged end on our travel trailer cord. In less than 6 months of occasional usage, the contacts corroded and one heated to the point of melting the plastic around it. I'm replacing with another brand and will be applying dielectric grease to the contacts in hopes of preventing a reoccurrence of the problem.
After the fitting on my RV cord failed, I purchased a new cord from etrailer. I inspected the old cord and found only the fitting was bad, so I purchased this plug so I could use the cord as an extension cord. The new fitting is well made and easy to install. Additionally, etrailer was very helpful in recommending the replacement cord.
I used this receptacle to make a Watt Hour meter for measuring the power going into my 5th wheel RV. I bought a Watt Hour meter from another store which I connected using this plug so I could insert it in the line to my trailer. It worked really well!
My 30amp cord was too thick for a plug but i was able to make it work.
I had an easy time installing this, however, it didn't have the handle it shows in the picture, but it did have a handle like the male version, which I actually preferred. Everything went together fine, with a little patience. It is working well so far, no issues.
The cord ends that I bought for replacement were perfect ,I bought 2 male ends and 1 female, they work great
This is a sturdy and well made product. It clamps to the cord so it will never come loose.
Great product. Went together really good sealed up tight.
Exact replacement, and was delivered sooner than expected
