Video Transcript for Camco RV Wiring - Power Cord Extension - CAM55195 Review

Today were going to review part #: CAM55195. This is the Camco Powergrip RV temporary power cord extension with the carrying strap. This is a 125 volt extension cord that will add 30 feet of length to your RVs 50 amp power cord. The female end, right here as you can see, will connect to your RVs 50 amp power plug. The male on the other end here will plug into the 50 amp receptacle at the RV park. As you can see, each connector has a built in power grip handle which will make unplugging the cord effortless.

When you go to plug these in sometimes it takes a little effort to pull them out of the plug. This power grip will you give you a lot of added ease to pull it out of the outlet. It does have this built in handle or this carrying strap right here. As you can see, you can just unsnap it like that. Then when its coiled up and youre ready to carry it or store it clip it together.

It has a very nice rubber handle here. You just pick it up and carry the cord using this carrying strap. Itll help when youre storing it or carrying the cord. If youll notice, on each end the connectors are very bright in yellow and the reason they do that is they want it to be easier to see these connectors if youre in any low light condition. So if youre pulling into an RV park later in the evening where the light is very limited youll at least be able to see these connectors to plug into the outlet at the RV park.

That should do it for the review on the Camco part #: CAM55195, the Camco Powergrip RV temporary power cord extension with this carrying strap. .

In the middle of a Missouri winter and extension cable is supplying the power for the RV.

I'm always impressed with the service that I get here at etrailer, that's why they are always my first stop when I'm shopping for products. The quality of the Camco cables is always excellent. Another great purchase!

The power grip cord is exactly what I needed to get added cord length in order to power the rv at my house. Good product.

by:

Nice product. Very made and I recommend it to anyone needing a longer power cord.

Just received the adapter and haven't had a chance to use it yet. But I've wanted one of these for a long time now as the 50 amp plug sticks straight out from the receptacle. Always thought this was a dumb design as it puts a lot of stress on the plug and cord. The prices are starting to look more attractive so I decided to bite the bullet and get one.

by:

Works just as it should. Now I can use my 30 amp extension cord with my 5th wheel when I am at a campsite or storage that does not have 50 amp connections. The adapter arrived just a promised and the customer service was outstanding. I will order from etrailer again.

This extension has been a game saver on a couple occasions. There have been a couple of parks where the extension has come in handy. Well made lives up to its expectations. A must have.

by:

Just what I needed to take the stress off of my trailer electrical hookup. Heavy duty and well made.

by:

good product and received in a timely manner. Just wish they made them about 6" longer. Was covered in dust...must have been stored in the shed out back...lol.

This product is answer to my dreams. Have a 37' Pace Arrow which had a 3.5k generator which was only capable of running one a cat a time. Generator died and I quickly found out generator repair people are rarer than Amish electricians. Bought a 7k generator and was arranging to pay an electrician to wire it in to rv when I discoveees this incredible connection. It twists in to 120/240 outlet on generator and accepts 4 prong rv cord. GREAT!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Turned on both ac's for first time since I owned rv, (over 10 yrs). Within mins rv was cool and I have enough power for another rv. This thing is great. I highly recommend to anyone with an rv with a small generator or generator in need of repair, go buy a 7k running amp generator and this plug and you're set with plenty of electrical power. Also, the quality and durability of this part is suprisingly amazing. You can easily run over this plug with your rv and not phase it. BUY ONE. This will be the best rv purchase you can make. Thank you ETRAILER for a great product worth twice the price easily. Will be ordering another one for a friend soon. 5??

This does all that I hoped for. It’s a solid connection to the 5th wheel. It doesn’t torque the connection with the weight of the cord sticking straight out,

by:

I bought it to provide strain relief for my RV power cord. It works well, except the locking ring can be frustrating (sticky and/or cross threading).

by:

Works as advertised. Already used several times because the electrical panel was to far.

by:

Great service trailer has never let me down quick easy affordable

by:

No worries about power surges, even during nasty Michigan storms. This product is the gold standard as the best protection for all motor home/motor Coach/trailer power feeds.

  • Availability of Surge Protector for 50 Amp RV Electrical Service
We have exactly what you're looking for. Take a look at the Camco 50 amp RV Power Defender, part # CAM55306. The Defender automatically disconnects power to protect your RV electrical system from spikes, and will reconnect when voltage levels stabilize.

  • What Size Wire is in the Mighty Cord 25 Foot RV Power Cord # A10-5025EH
The Mighty Cord 25' RV Power Cord Extension w/ Finger Grip Handle - 125/250V - 50 Amp # A10-5025EH has 6-8 gauge wire. I reached out to the manufacturer and 3 wires are 6 gauge with the 4th being 8 gauge. The Camco Power Grip # CAM55195 has an 8 gauge ground wire and the rest are 6 gauge wires for all power functions, so it is the same as the Mighty Cord.

  • Availability of Very Long RV Extension Cord
If your RV uses a 30 amp plug, we have a 50 foot long extension that would work great for you, part # A10-3050E. If you need a 50 amp plug, we offer part # CAM55195 that's 30 feet long, which you could plug into # CAM55194 for a total of 45 feet long. However, be aware that the longer your extension cord gets, the more voltage drop you'll experience. At greater lengths, this drop may prevent certain equipment that needs high start-up voltage to operate like refrigerators or A/C units from...

  • Connecting 50 Amp RV to 15 Amp Outlet At Storage Facility for Keeping Batteries Charged
For your particular setup, starting at the RV's 50 amp plug, I recommend the Camco RV 50 Amp Voltage Protector # CAM55306 followed by a power adapter cord like the Mighty Cord # A10-1550D90VP that will plug into the surge protector and give you a 15 amp male plug on the other end. Then from there you will just need an extension cord like the 25 foot # A10-2514E that will reach to the shore power hookup at the storage facility. This extension uses 14 gauge wire so that would be my recommendation...
