Need extra light over your camper kitchen sink for when you do the dishes? Or perhaps you need to upgrade the dim, old lights in your horse trailer? This dome light has bright white LEDs that give you brighter light underneath a kitchen cabinet, in a walkway, by a workbench, or inside your enclosed trailer.

LEDs are more energy efficient, last longer, and burn brighter than lights with incandescent bulbs. You won't have to worry about replacing bulbs that have brittle filaments. And because LEDs draw minimal power, the light won't drain your battery or overload your circuits.

Surface-Mount, Bolt-On Installation is Easy

Installing Gustafson Lighting RV Dome Light

This surface-mount dome light is incredibly easy to install either as an upgrade or a direct replacement of your existing light. To access the bolt holes, snap the lenses off the housing. Then, using hardware (not included), bolt the housing onto the ceiling, wall, or cabinet before snapping the lens back on. The light has a 2-wire design that hooks up to ground (white wire) and power (black wire). Once you're finished, you can then turn the light on and off using the integrated switch on the base.

Video Transcript for Gustafson Single Dome RV Pancake Light Installation

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Gustafson Single Dome RV Pancake Light, part number 277-000337.This single dome LED light is a perfect replacement or upgrade for your enclosed trailer, RV or camper's incandescent lights. It features nine LEDs with a frosted lens, so not only is it going to be bright enough, but it won't be blinding to look at compared to some other LEDs with a clear lens. The on and off switch is easy to use and find even in the dark.It features a low profile design. You can see here, on a commonly used single dome camper light that it's not as thick, so it's not going to hang down as far. You're less likely to hit your head on it. It'd be great for putting in a place such as pantry closet or even a bathroom. It's 5" tall, 7-1/4" wide and 1" deep.

Customers on our site are purchasing these lights to upgrade from their old incandescent lights. The nice thing about LEDs is they're more efficient. They use less power and there are no bulbs to replace. Now, that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. I'm in the bunk area of my camper. We're going to be replacing my old single dome light.

I want something a little bit more low profile, which is why I chose the pancake light.Let's go ahead and take this off. Like most camper lights, you simply pull away from the light to get the lens off. It should come right off and then, it reveals our hardware. Simply just take the hardware out and you want to be sure and save that hardware because our new light doesn't come with hardware. Now, as you could see, our wiring has some quick splice connectors, so we're going to need to cut those off. Before we cut our wires, we want to be sure that there's no power going to the wires, that we don't have to worry about any electrical shock or blowing any fuses.

With our old lights disconnected, we'll need to strip back our wires. Now, we can bring in our new light. Now, I found that it was easiest to remove the lens cover first because it can be quite difficult to remove it once all of our wires are connected. What we can do is go ahead and squeeze the sides together and then, it should pop right off. When it comes to connecting our wiring, since we are using an LED light, we'll need to be sure that our power connects to power and that our ground connects to ground. On our LED light, the red is our power wire and the black is our ground wire. On my camper here, my white is my ground, my brown is my power.

It will red to brown and black to white. Let's go ahead and connect them together. For connecting our wires, for double purposes, I'm going to be using some wire nuts. If you'd like a more permanent solution, you could use some butt connectors and you could find those here on our website here at When we connect them, we'd want to be sure that the two brown wires are together and that our LED light is together. Then, we'll be using our wire nut. We want to wind them all up like you see here and then twist it in place. Get it nice and secure and then, when you do, it's a good idea to go ahead and give your wires a tug, kind of make sure they're in there nice and tight and then, we can repeat the same process with our brown wire. Now, if you're using butt connectors, and you we're connecting them together, you'd put both brown into one side and then, your positive side into the other side. Same thing goes for the white. We do both white into one side and then the black, into the other side. With our wires connected, it's a good idea to test them before we button up our install.I've gone ahead and turned the power back on and let's go ahead and test it out. I'd say it works perfect. Let's go ahead and turn the power back off and finish up.Now that we know that everything works, let's start by pushing out wiring back up on our ceiling, at this point in time, you can decide which way you want to have your light facing. I'd like to cover up my holes, so I'm going to put mine in this direction but you can do it this way, this way, anyway you want. I'm going to try to use the same holes. Hold it in position, take my old hardware and get it started. Now, if you choose to use a screw gun, you want to be sure to use one with a low torque setting. That way, you don't strip it out. Then, we'll just work our way around.Once all of your hardware's in, we can go and replace out cover. You want to be sure to put these tabs in first. Put them in like so and then, once we've got it lined up, we can just squeeze our sides together and push them in place. Perfect. That's going to complete our look at the Gustafson Single Dome RV Pancake Light, part number 277-000337.

Use integrated switch or wire to a light switch to turn the single dome light on and off. Perfect for brightening up your RV kitchen when doing dishes or your enclosed trailer when loading gear. LEDs last longer and burn brighter than incandescents.

Perfect replacement for our original compartment lights that got so hot they melted contents when inadvertently switched on when loading those contents. Easy to install and feeling much better about avoiding a possible fire. Always great products and service from eTrailer.

Surprised to learn from a Google search that the black/white wire should be connected to red on the light. Could have included an install sheet.

I replaced six incandescent fixtures with these. The foot print was a little different, but they fit into place well. You will need wire strippers, butt connectors and a crimping tool. Installation takes about five minutes. Since they are "just" lights, there is little to say about performance. Our RV is an older model and the original fixtures were beginning to yellow. The wife is happy, so [Thumbs up]

We have put the RV up for sale. The lights performed perfectly for the last year. No problems at all.

Installed on boat and is used to light the galley area. Like many sailboat galleys, the refrig. is built into the galley with access from the top; you need light to see down into it. This light does the trick. It's very bright, much brighter than the old CFL. The only thing that can go wrong with these things is probably the switch . . . it made it thru one season on the Chesapeake; we'll see how it goes.

Still going strong

These lights are great. we paired them up with the double lights, from the same manufacturer.
LEDs are definitely the way to go in a trailer. Nice and bright and they don't use much power.

Worked as expected, no problems.

Worked great. The 4 center mount holes were the same as the ones I removed. I used the clear ones up high and the frosted one's on the bench lights. Makes the trailer a little brighter, but not to bright. Just right. Great energy savings. And low profile gives you more clearance. And the lens are removed with a little squeeze.

Received the lights sooner than expected. I installed two lights in my trailer in about 45 minutes with no issues. New LED lights are much brighter and cleaner than the stock incandescent lights. I couldn’t be more pleased with the lights and service from etrailer. This is the 5th time I’ve dealt with etrailer and I have been satisfied every time. Keep up the good work!

Easy to install. Not as bright as the light it replaced which is what I wanted. It is located above the bed in my travel trailer.

Lights are a direct replacement for my old incandescent overhead lights and provide better light without the heat.

Finally, my battery lasts so much longer. We love these LED lights and have had them in our toyhauler for over a year now. I would recommend for anyone wanting a more efficient light.

Easy install, low current draw. I like the rounded edges. I'm using them in a slide in truck camper and it's nice not having the sharp corners in such a small space.

excellent light, used inside motorcycle cargo trailer, light up space vary well

installed in boat. great light with easy switch to find in dark.

Dome light performs well over kitchen sink - no problems

Great replacement lights. The light is bright, but not blinding. Price is very good.
Very pleased with this purchase.

Needed a narrow lamp for clearance purposes and this fit the bill perfectly. A quality item at a reasonable price.

Easy mounting, good lighting.

Lights came one wrapped in sealed bag, one not and a little dirty. Both worked.
Makes me think one was returned for some reason.
