Video Transcript for Review of GE Appliances RV Air Conditioners - 15000 Btu White Deluxe Plus AC With Heat Pump - GE37FR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this GE Appliances 15,000 BTU white Deluxe Plus RV air conditioner with heat pump. Now, this is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner onto your RV's ducted or ductless system in your medium to large size camper. This 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool evenly, and this does have a built-in heat pump for those chilly mornings. This is coming all from a brand name that you know and trust.

Now, this is going to use the more energy-efficient R32 refrigerant which meets the 2025 EPA regulations. So being that that's the case, this will not be backwards compatible with any air conditioner system from 2024 and earlier. This is gonna be a bolt-on installation. However, this does not include hardware. The hardware typically comes with the air distribution box.

So for this to operate as it should, it does need a compatible air distribution box control box, which is the brains of the operation, and a thermostat. So if you are in need of all of those components, that's gonna be compatible with this unit and also being R32 compliant. We do carry complete air conditioner systems from GE here at etrailer.com. So you just need to find the complete system that's gonna work best for you, whether it's gonna be for a ducted system or a ductless system in your RV or camper, and find the air conditioner that's going to be the BTU rating that you want and the type of AC that you want. We have those systems available here, and I'm confident you're gonna be able to find exactly what you need.

Now, this is gonna fit roofs from two to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 3/8 inches long by 14 and 3/8 inches wide. And this is going to be right at 32 and 13/16 inches long and 26 1/8 inches wide and 13 15/16 inches tall. This does weigh a little bit under 80 pounds, and this is gonna run pretty quietly for you because the motor has sound-dampening grommets to help reduce that annoying humming and vibration sound. And this does include the heat pump, as I told you already. And as you know, that heat pump is gonna pull the warmth from the air to heat the inside of your RV on those chilly mornings.

And this is gonna be a pretty easy swap for most RVs. This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening, and we do have foam pads at the base here that's going to act as an insulation between your unit and the roof, and then the gasket as well that's going to seal over that opening in the roof of your RV. And this is built tough for the road. It's constructed of high-grade materials. So this is gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme UV rays and the constant vibration. And this does feature a white, hard, automotive-grade polymer cover that's gonna protect the internal components from water and debris. And it can be easily removed if need be for maintenance and cleaning. This does include a wiring harness that's tucked up underneath the air conditioner unit. I thought it would be better for you to just see a photo of those connection points there. So you're just gonna take that harness, run it, pull it out from underneath the AC unit, and run it through the opening of your roof and plug it into place. You do want to keep the rear of this unit at least 18 inches away from any obstructions for proper airflow. And again, this is coming from GE which is a trusted reliable brand name that you know for especially appliances in your home. So you're gonna bring that trustworthiness and that reliability into your RV with this unit. If this is going to be the AC unit that's gonna work best for you, that's great. We would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with installing this and having it in operation on your rig, so you can share your experience with us by either dropping a comment or a review on this product page. And we would love to hear back from you and maybe even see some photos of this on your setup. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

A/C works great. Easy install.

Worked great. Easy install

Package showed up on time and works better than the one it replaced when it was new.

Can't really let you know of the product until I put it on the roof. I can only hope it lasts and outperforms it predecessor which only made it 2 years and 6-7 uses. Very disappointing. As for the assistance from the etrailer staff, it was fantastic. Great advice and all had uplifting personalities. Thank you.

We replaced the standard GE A/C on our '22 Grand Design 22MLE with this after the Wago connector shorted out and caused a fire in the unit's control box. I probably didn't need to replace the whole unit because the damage was confined to just the control box and the wires to the A/C were spared.
The replacement went really smoothly. We used a ladder leaned on the roof of the camper at a low slope and made a plywood "sled" with blocks on the side to keep it on the ladder to pull the units up and down from the roof.
There was a glitch where the DC fuse to the unit was blown (they were mislabeled) and two white wires were tucked up in the unit that need to connect to the control box. GE tech help was very patient and understanding in helping me figure it out.
The people at etrailer are very nice and I do most of my business with them. They are always very knowledgeable of the products and make sure you get the right product.
The GE Heat Pump works great in all modes.

NOTE: We just installed the SoftStartRV from eTrailer and the unit is much quieter on start-up now. I suggest just getting it with the heat pump.
We are running the camper on a Craftsman 2500 watt generator (Generac) now.

Great AC/Heat Pumps unit, much more efficient and quieter than my old Dometic AC.
I would have liked there to be a mounting option that didn't require an air distribution box as my Fifth-Wheel does not have one, which created a complication during install. Aside from that, the install was fine, and it's been running well.

Hi Chris! The GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC w/ Heat Pump - 15,000 Btu - White - AC Unit Only # GE37FR does indeed include a heat pump. One thing to note though, this will not work with any system pre-2025. This is due to new EPA regulations and all manufacturers being required to switch to the new R32 coolant.
