6-Pin Connector

This Advent Air AC unit lets you replace an old or broken air conditioner on your RV or camper. It has a 6-pin connector for easy plug-and-play installation and it works with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. And everything you need in order to replace or add an AC unit is included, which makes installation easy.

Simple Installation

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple. Most AC units are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

And in order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with your existing Advent Air or Dometic air distribution box and thermostat.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ACMHD) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

  • Replacement AC For Dometic Brisk Air 2 Air Conditioners On 2019 Keystone Cougar 5TH Wheel
The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150B will fit in place of your Dometic Brisk Air 2 air conditioner. This will plug directly into your Dometic controller and will work with your current InCommand system including your current air distribution box so you can continue to use the same air filters inside your camper. You will not need the additional start capacitors.

  • Troubleshooting Advent Air RV AC Unit that Isn't Working with Dometic Thermostat
Did you use the Dometic lower vent assembly with just the top Advent? Unfortunately this type of issue is very common when mixing and matching between AC components and there isn't a great solution aside from just replacing components so that it all matches the same brand. Otherwise the issues get really hard to address and pin down. Best option would be a new lower vent assembly and wall control part # ACRG15.

  • Replacement AC Unit for a Coleman 48204c866 Unit
Yes, the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner item # ACM135 will if your control box has the 6-pin connector. If you have the 9-pin connector you will need to use the the Coleman Mach Adapter Wiring Kit for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners item # ACCOLKIT. However, the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner item # ACM135 you were looking at is a 13,500 Btu. My information has your Coleman 48204c866 being a 15,000 Btu unit. The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner item # ACM150 in white or the item # ACM150B in...

  • Will There be an Issue Replacing 13,500 Btu AC With 15,000 Btu AC on Trailer
Hi Travis, Good idea replacing your 13,500 Btu unit with a 15,000 Btu unit and I can tell you that you will not have any issue upgrading to the larger 15,000 Btu Advent. You can do so with either the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner - 15,000 Btu - Black # ACM150B or White # ACM150.

  • Recommended Second AC Unit for a 2019 Palomino Puma Unleased
The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150B can be used to add a second AC to your pre-wired you'd just need to use an adapter # ACCOLKIT for a Coleman setup or # ACCARKIT for a Carrier setup. This AC can also be used with an Advent setup or a Dometic setup that uses an external control box.

  • Recommended Replacement AC System For A 2000 Fleetwood Mallard Travel Trailer
Hey Nelson, The metal box with all the wiring running to it is your system's controller. It looks like it's hardwired instead of using a 6 or 9-pin connector so you would want to replace the whole system. The system you have has a 13,500BTU rating so I recommend going with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 13,500 Btu - White # FR95PV or # FR35PV for a black shroud. This will come with everything you need component-wise but you'll need to reuse the mounting...

  • Replacement AC Condenser Units For A Dometic Brisk II 15,000 BTU System
Hi John, So we do offer plug-and-play replacements for your Dometic unit, but the options we offer require that you have the same branded controller to plug in a heat strip. This means you would need to replace the entire system in order to have a heat strip or reach out to Dometic for a compatible replacement. If you're fine with losing the heat pump then the next step is remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the wire harness that connects the rooftop condenser...

  • Easiest RV AC Unit to Replace Carrier AC Unit Recommendation
We have AC unit setups that were designed to replace Carrier setups like with the Advent Air part # ACM150B with the Carrier adapter part # ACCARKIT which would be the easiest and best solution for replacing your Carrier unit. The Atwood you mentioned would work but would require a more in-depth install.

  • Compatiblity of Advent Air RV Air Conditioner With 2022 Coachmen Pursuit 31BH
Hey Azo! The answer to your question is maybe. The # ACM150B works with a 6-pin connector and is compatible with a Dometic setup or a Coleman if you have a 6000/7000 series or a heat pump. If you have a Coleman with a 9-pin connector you need the # ACCOLKIT as well to convert it to a 6-pin for the AC unit. If you have a different AC on there right now let me know in the comments below. Since you are replacing an AC it is worth mentioning the fact that everything is switching to the new...

Hey Deron, to replace your AirXcel Model 48254c969 I recommend going with the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # FR42PV. This replacement will work with your existing Coleman stuff, is rated at 15,000 Btus, and will work with ducted and non-ducted setups. What kind of trailer do you have? Anything fun planned? If you have any other questions, feel free to drop a comment and let me know.

  • Can Advent Air AC Unit Replace Coleman Mach
Hey Pamela, at one point we thought the Advent Air AC units could easily replace the Colemans but we've recently learned that it's really inconsistent so we can't guarantee it will work. So instead you'd want the Advent kit part # ADV64FR which comes with a new thermostat and lower unit we know will work well. Basically what we've learned is that there's no mixing and matching of brand components that work together.

  • Are Furrion Or Advent Air RV Air Conditioners The Better Choice For An Enclosed Trailer
In my personal opinion Furrion is superior to Advent Air in both performance and customer service. I've also seen notes stating that Advent Air will not warranty any units installed on enclosed trailers since the intended purpose is on a camper or motorhome roof made to support the weight of the condenser unit. Enclosed trailers typically do not have proper support for an AC unit or a thick enough roof so you will have to do a bit of frame work to make it work. Since enclosed trailers...

  • Recommended Replacement for Dometic 15K BTU Rooftop RV Air Conditioner
In order to replace a Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner I recommend using the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner, part # ACM150B for black or part # ACM150 for white. These are excellent replacement options which offer a direct fit. It comes with a two year warranty as well. Please note, if you use your generator to power the air conditioner then you'll want to consider a start capacitor like the Start Capacitor for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners part # ACMSCKIT which cuts down on power demands.

You can even step up to the 15,000 Btu rated model, # ACM150 if you prefer. # ACM150B for black cover. • How To Replace A Dometic AC Rooftop Unit With The Advent Air AC Rooftop Unit
The controller for your unit should be mounted separately to the air distribution box. It's hard to tell from the pictures you sent but if the wiring diagram you sent is correct for your unit then it's also showing it as a separate part from the rooftop unit. The controller should have a connector sticking out of it like I have pictured below. Since your picture of the old rooftop unit has a bare wires I'm assuming they cut the connector off and just hardwired it, which is ok but a bit...

  • Installation Of An Advent Air Replacement Air Conditioner In A Dometic Setup
A typical RV air conditioner rooftop unit is going to have a wire harness that hangs down and plugs into a controller. Most of the time the controller is mounted to the air distribution box, in between it and the rooftop unit, but some times it gets mounted inside of the rooftop unit. If this is the case then you'll have to remove the controller and find a way to mount it to your air distribution box. You can typically find a couple of smaller mounting brackets at your local hardware store...
