I bought this kit because I already owned a pair of Thule “square “ crossbars. When in place the rack is super solid. However, it has some issues. It is quite difficult to attach the legs to the base plate on the factory rails. It doesn’t click on and off. Quite annoying. A fiddly two person job. Also the wind noise is very noticeable. Also annoying.

Custom RCP Fit Kit was perfect for my 2018 Chevy Bolt. Screws fit perfectly in the predrilled holes on the Bolt's pVery solid and holds my 80 lb tandem kayak mounted upside down on my rhino rack cross bars with 2 tie down straps over the kayak, and a front strap attached to a loop strap held in pace by the hood. I attached the rear strap to my bike rack trailer hitch. Maiden voyage this past weekend to a spring run 45 minutes from home. Kayak didn't even budge an inch. Rubber on the surface of my rhino racks prevented any slippage.

I had tried to buy OEM Cross Bars for my '21 Cadillac XT6, but no one had them, and it looked like a long term problem of availability from Cadillac. So- after ordering and receiving some cheap bars that the ad on (that auction site) said were a "perfect fit", and finding them to be 1/2" short of reaching between the rails, then returning them for credit (but not for the shipping!), I contacted etrailer.

I have a Thule Cargo Box that I bought from them in 2016. I use this for one long trip (1900 miles each way, every year.)

Kaylyn at etrailer researched quite extensively for cross bars that would meet my needs: strong, nice appearance and above all quiet! She got back to me a day later, recommending Rhino Rack Aero Bars, and the attachments as being the best available. She cautioned me that (like any aftermarket bars) they would not be as quiet as OEM flush fit bars. I value honesty.

I installed them, and found the kit to be very complete. See the pictures- it looks great as far as I am concerned. And they are virtually silent at up to 70 MPH (I'll try them faster when we leave!). One caution: do not forget the plastic "Measuring Strips"- they are IN the bars, and are marked for measuring. But the real purpose is to seal the BOTTOM of the cross bars to eliminate "loud whistling"- ask how I know.

by:

The Rhino rack for my Rav4 hybrid fit perfectly and has been used extensively for carrying whitewater and touring kayaks since installing it one year ago.

etrailer videos were helpful while I shopped for alternatives to Thule and Yakima which did not offer the specific feet I needed to install their racks.

by:

Update to my review: etrailer sent additional strips to set into the gaps on the bottom side of the rails and there is no longer any whistling, so I've rerated my purchase to Excellent. I'm not sure if the strips for the bottom side (the side that faces the roof of the car) should have come with my rails to begin with or if they need to be purchased separately (etrailer sent them to me at no charge after my initial review). Covering those gaps with duct tape will also do the trick.

I purchased the Rhino Rack roof rack as an alternative to the factory installed products and the more popular Thule and Yakima brands. The Rhino Rack is solid and sleek and is largely silent while driving (if I have the roof open you can hear a soft whistle). Not only does the rack look fantastic, but the non-slip top and the strong bars make carrying things on top a real pleasure.

by:

Two stars because the provided hardware interferes with the factory rails when using the provided cover plates (to be installed when you remove the cross bars & towers). Had to source my own 12mm long cap screws because provided 16mm were too long. Otherwise works as advertised.

by:

Product arrived earlier than expected with all parts. A little work to install but everything fits perfectly. After I dry fit the parts and then tightened the sliders to the cross bars I attached the rack to the mounting brackets on the roof using a 10mm wrench. It was easier access than trying to use the allen head wrench. It's on with a solid fit and I love it.

by:

Solid brackets and easy to install. Fit 2021 Sprinter with factory rails.

by:

Looks amazing, and was super easy to install.
2021
Jeep Grand Cherokee L 4x4 Limited

by:

Perfect fit. Mounted easily to aftermarket roof rails.

by:

Fitment is good, did not come with security capscrews even it included a security wrench. The rack can be removed with allen wrench.
When rack is in place, I cannot use the sunroof on 2023 Buick Enclave.
Otherwise, it works fine!

by:

Terrible hardware. Screws broke inside fixed mounts twice rendering while system completely useless

by:

Price, Quality, communication, Shipping Speed. Everything about this is excellent!

by:

Well made parts, shipped quickly. I was able to install the rack with no problems by following the instructions. Good choice if you want a quality roof rack for $xxx less than a comparable Thule or Yakima.

by:

Love etrailer. They always have anything and everything you need and always at a great price. Also great videos and tutorials to help with your DIY install! Salvaged my old Rhino Aerobars with a new Rhino roof kit from etrailer for my Bolt.

Great item, pretty easy to install. I posted a longer review for the full setup on our 2019 Highlander with 2 biggish kayaks under reviews for the rack pillars, Item: RRRCL4. When fully tied down, we used hood loops front and rear for both boats.

Great service from Carol C.

I searched a lot of websites before finding what I needed on etrailer.com for my 2012 Suzuki GV. I was looking for the proper mounts to install a Kayak rack system. Because my vehicle has a built in rail system it was very confusing what was needed. Thank you etrailer for hooking me up with the appropriate parts for the Rhino system, it worked great!

These Rhino-Rack products are solid. Installation was quite simple. It took me no more than 2 hours from taking off the OEM rails to getting the crossbars to tighten down.

Keep in mind that these legs were designed for the Toyota Prado (it even says so on the installation guide). Once you remove the Lexus OEM rails, you will notice a groove, about 3/4" deep and 1-1/8" wide, alongside the roof. If your GX does not come with the OEM rails, the grooves might already be covered up by the factory drip trim pieces (Toyota PN 75557-60050, 75555-60030). This Rhino rack kit does not come with any hardware to cover up the grooves. I was told they would not cause any leaks because the mounting points are tightly sealed.

But if you have severe OCD like me, those grooves will be bothering you (even though you can't see them). Instead of paying over $xxx for the OEM trims pieces. Fill them up with some 3/4"wide 3/8 inch thick insulation tape, then tape a strip of 1" wide, 1/8" thick neoprene rubber strip on top. The end product looks just like OEM. I hope my simple idea will help other fellow OCD survivors.

We had been shopping around for roof options for our new 2022 grand Cherokee, when we came across this. For us, the OEM mopar crossbars were ugly - extend about 6 inches from the roof. These are very low profile, and insanely sturdy. Additionally, installation is crazy simple.

The only recommendation we have that differs from the instructions - we used the rear set of mounting holes on the factory rails. Using the front set of holes as recommended by the instructions for cross bars meant that ski racks would be too close together, and the ski bindings would not fit. Other than that, very satisfied!

by:

Everything came promptly, no issues. Everything fit and the videos from eTrailer are a great help!

by:

Purchase for a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, black rails. Perfect fit.

by:

Working great to mount my crossbars and kayak rack.
