Hello, neighbors and friends. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a Replacement Key for your Thule Racks and Carriers, keyed to N2856. I know what you're thinking. "Steve, how do I know which key I need" Well, pretty simple, actually. Look at your Thule rack or carrier, the lock core itself, usually to the left or right of where you insert that key, you'll see an engraving on the front face of that core.
Just simply write down that number. Match it up with the key that you need. Now, zooming in on this key here on the table, you can see the engraving there, 2856, and that's gonna be the key that matches up lock core N2856. Again, you get one key with purchase. If you need more than one, just change the quantity to however many you want.

Key was a perfect fit! Found a sears x cargo sport 20 carrier on the side of the road for free and picked it up. However it was lock and had no keys. etrailer really saved me!! I was worried I was going to have to buy a new rooftop carrier but this key works perfectly. Just remember to check the number of your lock barrel to make sure it matches. Service, shipping, everything was impeccable!

I rescued an X-Cargo Sport 20 Cargo Pod from the dumpster. It was completely intact with all of the mounting hardware sans a wing nut and no keys. I did some research on the pod and found several corroborating sites of what key I needed. Turns out it uses keys made for Thule products. Since I needed to get a wing nut and turns out you carried it, I would also get keys from you as well.
The keys work fine and I have a nice cargo pod, which will be real handy for an upcoming road trip.

We purchased it about 10 years ago. It came with 2 keys and we lost one.
Recently, we went to a locksmith to have keys made, he was unable to locate a blank and IF he had found one we would have paid way more than $5 a key. We even considered replace the lock mechanism.

etrailer.com provided superior customer service. I am moving and have a Thule/SportRack shell for my SUV. I hadn't used the keys in 2 years and lost them or packed them in preparation for moving. Product is working great. Got more than I asked for.
Could not believe how easy it was to get the key that we needed. Tried local locksmiths and they could not order it. Very happy with the service and we’ll use it in the future.
I never dreamed I could locate a set of keys for my Sears luggage carrier so fast but etrailer had them, and shipped them that nite. If you need a specialty item you should try them. The keys worked great. If I went to the maker it may have cost me big.

I am glad we had the right key for you Robin! I keep a set in my glove box, and an extra set at home, I too like to misplace things. Did the lost one show up yet? I feel like they always have a funny way of doing so after we get the new one.
