  • What Size are the Latches of the Replacement Latch Kit # 1085
    The latches in the Replacement Latch Kit, # 1085, are 3-5/8 inches long x 1-1/2 inches wide x 3/4 inch deep. These latches were designed to replace the latches that come with the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate, # VGT-70-100. The hook with the pull ring sticks out 1-5/8 inches. I have attached an installation video of the tailgate that shows how the latches install on the tailgate.

    The Replacement Latch Kit # 1085 that you referenced is designed specifically for the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate # VGT-70-100. Unless this is what you have installed on your Ford F-250 this latch kit won't work. We do not have any OEM replacement latches available for your truck but if you are considering replacing the tailgate altogether with a 5th wheel model like the above-mentioned unit I recommend the Stromberg Carlson # VG-97-4000.
