You hit the switch and the dump bed rises steady, even under a heavy load. When it's time to drop, it powers back down smooth and under control. The pump drives fluid both ways to keep the trailer working.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Dexter KTI 12-volt double-action hydraulic pump. Now this is a 12-volt double-acting hydraulic pump with a three-quart reservoir, and this is really the heart of a lot of dump trailers, lift tables, and utility setups, anywhere that you need a reliable hydraulic power going both up and down. And double-acting means just that it does have that hydraulic pressure in both directions. So instead of relying on gravity to lower your bed or cylinder, this one's going to power it down as well, giving you smoother, more controlled movement.
So as I mentioned, this is gonna run off of 12 volts, so it's gonna tie right into your trailer battery. The three-quart tank holds enough fluid for small- to medium-sized cylinders. And so you're gonna have the standard number, six SAE ports for your hydraulic lines. And this pump also includes this two-button corded remote for power up and power down. And you do have a manual override as well.
And you see that we have magnets here, so this is just going to be able to stick to anything metallic for easy storage. I'm finding something here. So as you can see, it's got pretty good, pretty good magnetic power there. So this will plug right in, right here. So it's a 4-prong plug, so it'll plug right in there, and then you'll just, it'll tighten down here with a built-in washer.
So that's a nice addition. And the cord's gonna give you plenty of length to be it a safe distance so you can operate this. Performance-wise, you're looking at roughly two gallons per minute of flow, around 3,200 psi, which is gonna be more than enough for typical dump trailer applications. When you install this, you wanna make sure that you mount it just as you see it here, horizontally. And you wanna use good battery cables and get a solid ground.
You'll fill it with the right hydraulic fluid and then cycle the system a few times to bleed out any air. Looking at the dimensions, looking at the overall length from end to end, about 16-inches long is what I came up with. Looking at the width here at the widest point, about seven inches. And then the overall height at the tallest point here, about eight inches. So overall, this is gonna be a compacted, dependable, easy to wire pump that's gonna give you full control of your lift system in both directions. It's gonna be reliable, it's gonna be serviceable, and that's why this is common on so many Dexter and KTI trailer setups.
